Wow forgot how fast things go around here!

I'll be joining Jon's party bringing some food and wine from around here Smile [:)]!!

Regarding my recipient's gift I know what to get but I still didn't get it. I'll be going to a hobby shop this week and try to send it next one.

Okay, I ordered my receipents kit from Squadron around the 1st of November, they sent me a thanks for ordering email, but I haven't heard anything else. They don't seem to have the ability to check your orders, that I can figure out, on their web page. Anyone who has experience with Squadron, do you get a 2nd email when they actually ship it? I am wondering at this point if maybe I should find something else from a LHS so I can make sure to get a kit out in time.

Well,  my recipient's shopping is all done and wrapped, I just need to put the finishing touches on the photo CD I am including, just to introduce myself and my family to my Santa-ee.  I just hope that ___ is surprised and pleased with his _-__ and a "stocking stuffer"  Wink [;)] ! It will all go out in the mail in the next couple of days!

As far as WWII aircraft I cant say my favorite right now, I have built some mustangs, a P-40 and a spitfire. I wouldnt mind a 262 in my collection or a mosquito. With modern jets I have the goal of building all the navy and air force fighters in service right now in 1/72 scale. however that goal is a far one because I only have one modern jet in 1/72 and that is my my current project which is an F-14 . I guess I dont really have a favorite, I guess when it comes to model aircraft im a man of ill repute. I have my favorite aircraft right now, not one for the ages.

And on top of all that, I wouldnt mind putting together some vietnam or korean war era jets, Like I have said many times, this is the curse I live. Being that this is my first year back into the hobby, I have not built very many, so there is an abundance of things I cant wait to build. For instance, the kit that I bought for *insert name here* after looking at it, I want one

It is only the intellect that keeps me sane; perhaps this makes me overvalue intellect against feeling

Ahhh, the curse of every modeler and the reason why those with the means have basements or attics full of unbuilt kits! Wink [;)]

I can't say that I have an all time favorite either, I usually stick to WWII but I'm finding myself drawn more and more outside of that envelope of time!

I mostly do armour now, but I like Spitfires a lot or a Seafire. And FW190's and BF109's.

Modern I havent built any but I think Italeri has some cool F-22, JSF X-35 and X-32 planes that border on futuristic.

This GB isnt limited to A/C only is it? I dont really care just a quick question considering the first SSGB was aircraft only.

My real name is Cam. Interest: anything 1/72, right now mostly sci-fi and modern In progress: 1/72 Sci-fi diorama (link in my web) 1/72 Leopard 2A5 1/72 APC Conversion to a MEGA DESTROYER

I like 1/48 twin props, especially the sleek german ones, like the Fw 187, the Ta 154, and the Do 17 series. I also like big 1/72 flying boats, like the new revell germany Bv 222 and Bv 138, or any kit of a Do 216. That would be awesome! I'm not so much a fan of single engine fighters, but really pretty much anything will do. Wink [;)]

Actually yeah.... aircraft. That way people are more familiar with the kit genre. I keep wondering others will start a similar one for armor, cars, etc.

I snagged the kit for the good little boy yesterday & wrapped it tonight.  Had to get kinda creative with the wrapping paper though.  Hey - it's November.  I usually don't start shopping till around December 20th - so I certainly don't have any Christmas wrap around the house !

If I write much more I'll be tempted to revell what the gift is and that would be a heller of a let down for the sant-ee - particularly if I was to include his monogram, so I guess I'll just Zveda-way for now.  Ho Ho Ho

That was creative Chris.

I'm as excited as anyone else on what I'm getting from whoever my Secret Santa is, but I think I'm more genuinely looking forward to the response I get from my recipient over the kit I've purchased.  It was such a fun task to do the research on my recipient to find out what (s)he has already built and to try to hazard a guess - and it is really just that, a guess - as to what kit (s)he might really enjoy building based on the information Jon gave me and what I was able to ascertain from my research.

Now as I wait for the kit to come in the mail, I'm thinking of what kind of personal touch I can add to the gift.  And looking forward to Christmas!

GOT IT!

Yesterday I bought a nice **** ********** instead of a ****** ******* for ******. He/She/It is sure gonna like it with all that ******** ******.

Now all I need to do is double wrap it (X-Mas paper and packing paper), add a personal touch and send it away!
I was wondering: is the sending away part mandatory? Big Smile [:D]

As for me I actually am a "rotorhead" but i also like fixed wings with a propeller: I need something visibly spinnig on an aircraft!Laugh [(-D]
