Hey, thanks guys! Big Smile [:D]

Who woulda thunk I'd be winning aircraft categories...does this mean I should delete all of the armor from my IMS3 list? Shock [:O]

Because I put myself on a buying hiatus and a building binge, my stash is actually smaller than last year.  Once I sorted out the ones I wasn't ready to build, I actually had a hard time coming up with 15.  But I did in the end!

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

1/48 Revell F-14D

My stash is always growing...actually, I think it has started to self-multiply, because I SWEAR I don't remember buying a couple of the kits in there. Whistling [:-^]

The peasants, indeed, are getting restless!

I had a fun time rooting around looking for some good stuff for you fellas to vote on - tried to mix it up quite a bit...lots of different stuff, lots of different manufacturers. Can't wait!

I believe we usually start posting our lists in mid-November if I remember correctly.

Sigh [sigh] my goal this year was to build more than I buy and I was doing really well up until the Vancouver IPMS show.  I got to the vendor tables and I just couldn't help myself Blush [:I].

Hey, if you do, you won't have to worry about waiting for the voting...you know you're building a Tomcat! Laugh [(-D]

Consider me a Tomcat n00b, but aren't there only 4 Tomcat variants (A-D)? What exactly are you going to DO with all of those Tomcats?

Did I read this correctly? Is the next IMS build on its way already? Don't know if I should say "WooHoo!" or "UhOh!"Big Smile [:D] The B-25 for this build has been whoopin my ***, but if all goes well, I should have it done this week. Deciding to throw accuracy out the window for fun and suggestions from my son turned out to be the kick-start I needed.

I know, I missed the "official" deadline, but at least I'll be done before the end of the next one!Big Smile [:D]Whistling [:-^]

Because this GB ended months ago...?  I dunno, I'm just spitballing here.

The right question is where is Kenny and IMS 3?  He's late on posting it to the GB forum.

Wow, that is a pretty good completion rate. So how's this work...are you allowed into IMS3 if you haven't finished IMS2? Laugh [(-D]

See you fellas over there!

WooHoo!Party [party] I finally finished the B-25!Big Smile [:D](well, more or less....needs some minoe touch-ups and weathering)

I'm just glad this one's in the books. I didn't do this one the justice I would have liked, but right now, I'm happy it's over.Big Smile [:D]

I decided to build this one for my son, to replace the one that was destroyed when the roofer came through the ceiling. The seriel # is his b-day (16 November, 1997) and the letters are his initials. I used the chief decals that came with the kit, and hand painted "chief" on the nose because I've always called him chief and he always uses that as a name when he plays video games.Big Smile [:D]

I know there are ALOT of mistakes and inaccuracies on this one, but I'm OK with that.Whistling [:-^]

Here's some pics!

This was a fun GB, and I'm looking forward to the IMSGB3!

Comments and critiques welcome!

MaxSheridan,

You're the third or fourth forum member I've seen putting their kid's/significant other's name on a WWII aircraft.  I think it's AWESOME.  I've got an 8 month old daughter, and VERY soon, there will be a "Miss Vivian" of some sort on my shelf.  Either a B-24, B-25, A-20G/J, or the like.  It's a VERY cool way to add a personal touch to a kit.  One day, years down the road, I want to be able to show her the kit (I'll put it inside an acrylic case) and say "I made this for you the year you were born."  Great looking B-25 by the way. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Mark, very nice B-25. It turned out great so I dont know where the flaws are. I especially like your personal touch on this one. I have done the same thing on quite a few of my builds. Nice job and well done
