Shock [:O] OFFICIAL 30 DAYS REMAINING ALERT! Shock [:O]

This is it guys, final month of Winter Warriors badge-claiming is upon us...hope everyone who's been plugging away can get their builds in under the wire!

Did manage to fiiiiiinally get my butt to the bench for a good clip this weekend. Should have finished Panther pics either tomorrow or Wednesday for your viewing perusal once I finish up the weathering tonight. Big Smile [:D]

O.K., this one is finally in the bank! Got to go home fairly early, got the last few hours of work in before and after dinner. The finished product looks something like this:

Really set out initially to do a Dale-style hairspray peel, but the PE zim scared me away from that when I started having issues with paint adherence. Think it ended up more Panzer88-ish overall. ALL comments/critiques/complaints highly welcomed...either here or over in the armor forum (same pics over there). Big Smile [:D]

I love it Dupes!!!   Perfect winter Panther, right off the frozen tundra. I know the PE zimm gave you a bunch of problems but it sure doesn't look like it. The subtle shading you've accomplished in that white is beautiful. Weathering is spot-on, everything just pulls the build together perfectly.

Another build for you to be proud of!

Still needs some more weathering and then some mud.  However, I have the the Auto Racing GB that has an earlier 'end date' that has first priority.  Hope to work on the T-34 some this weekend.

Can't wait to see the finished product. Went back through the list on the first page, I know that there's a bunch of kits that must be VERY close to complete...eager for the end-of-GB kit rush that I know is coming. Wink [;)]

Thanks for looking Arki and Altered!

Great work Lycra man. Your Golfing Galavant certainly got your constructive juices flowing. Really love this one and if you had any probs with the PE, it sure doesnt show.

Top marx fella.

...Guy

P.s. at the end of this Great GB you should have a gallery of all the finished models, one after the other.

Hmmm. That would be pretty cool. Have to get everyone to agree to only the ONE best pic of their build, though. Wink [;)]

Got cracking on the Stuka last night. No time to rest! Have a cool AM PE set that came with another Stuka I...Ebayed, or something. Don't remember. It's for the Airfix kit, but seems to be adaptable to my Hasegawa easily enough. Hopefully have some WIP shots in the next few days.

Was poking around the front page, trying to figure out what could be coming down the pipeline this month. This first batch are builds that I know I've seen updates on, and are listed as "probable"...keep it up guys! Make a Toast [#toast]:

Dupes - 1/48 Hasegawa Ju-87B2 Stuka
Bufflehead - 1/35 DML Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G "Kharkov"
JThurston - 1/35 T-34/85
BobBaily - 1/35 T34/85
Plastic_Cross - 1/35 Academy M7 Priest
Espins1 - Tristar 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. E/F
MG42Gunner - 1/35 Trumpeter Strv 103C

Detailfreak - 1/35 DML Panzer III J
some assembly required - 1/35 Tamiya Marder III
ruddratt - 1/48 Hasegawa P-400 Airacobra
Darson - 1/48 Hobby Boss T-34 Mod 43
DHM - 1/35 DML Nashorn
Feldmarschall Model - 1/35 DML King Tiger Ardennes

Batch 2 is builds that I don't remember seeing any updates for, were late starters, or never got off the ground. Any news, fellas? Hoping we can get a bunch of these added to the "completed" list! Big Smile [:D]

RandW - 1/35 DML King Tiger Porsche
Hermesminiatures - 1/35 AFV Club M-18 Hellcat
Dahut - 1/72 Sepecat Jaguar
1trickpony - 1/48 AMT HS-129
Fyuri - 1/48 Classic Airframes MiG-3

If I forgot somebody, or put you in the wrong list, I apologize. Wish I had the internet capabilities to go back through the entire GB...maybe someday. Ashamed [*^_^*]

Still waiting on my kit to arrive, dupes. I really hope it's soon, because I've been stoked for this GB since day 1 and it's been rough just sitting here not being able to contribute as much as I'd like to. May be time for another phone call to find out just what the hold-up is.

Dupes, looks mighty fine!

Saddler, I have an idea for attaching the snow to your 1/72 kit. How about a good heavy coat of Future then sprinkle the stuff while the coat is wet. Once dry, spray a flat coat. Maybe?

Hey, thanks man! I really dug the look of your 251, decided to go that way once I chickened out on the hairspray. I'm still going to try that method, but on some soldering-iron zim, I think. Wink [;)]

Speaking of 251's, I hope you happen to have another kicking around in your stash...would love to get you into the 251 GB later this year! Big Smile [:D]

Don't worry, I'm still working on my Strv.103 for this GB I just don't usually put up "WIP" pics because I only have access to a decent camera on rare occasions. I'm almost ready to start weathering her, and I'm possibly going to do a small dio to accompany it. Pics are on the way.

I'm working at it, I thought for some reason the deadline was the end of May, but I'm not 100% sure I'll make it... I'll do my best.

I have a question regarding the gear struts, if anyone has any documentation or input I would appreciate it...

I'm making it 100% stock, and the instructions say to paint the struts grey. I am wondering if this is merely because it is an older kit, and aluminum type colours weren't around when it was made, or if it was intentional to keep up with the winter camo.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I am going to need to model something I saw in "Combat Aircraft" this month. It was either a MiG or a Su 29 in DIGITAL CAMO! I thought it looked really sweet.

Now that I just received my "replacement" parts (read a new kit) due to losing a few of the smaller PE parts, I'm going to get cracking.

Thanks again!

-Paul

Dang Detailfreak, that DOES look good! Thoroughly "skanked up"! Big Smile [:D] Maybe put a little bit of metallic/steel drybrushing on the edges of your open hatches? Other than that, looks just about there to me!

Detailfreak - certainly is "weather-beaten"! Big Smile [:D] Looks very well done to me, one suggestion would be to add a bit of mud/grime to the undersides of the fenders that are flipped up to match the sides of the hull right next to where they would sit over the tracks.

Love the look of the ost/winter-kettens. Grab your badge, sir! Cool [8D]

Already got a build picked out for the next one...? Wink [;)]

well i thank you for the input and the badge ,but it appears that something has gone amiss with adding it to my sig.for my next w.w g.b. i think i'll go with a gun emplacement with camo. net and the rest of the goods that go with it.haven't really seen one here yet.oh did you notice that i mistakenly used the wrong air intakes[note the locator for the lift hook]have to fill that baby in.Thumbs Up [tup]to all of you in this group build, and this forum.

Dupes, sorry dude, I TOTALLY missed your post of the Panther!  Nice, nice work!  Looks like the PE zim worked out pretty good and the whitewash is great!  I'm envious!Approve [^] Does it have a dunkelgelb basecoat?

My PZ IV Kharkov has been sitting unpainted for a month now.  I haven't had a chance to do much modeling since Mar 8.  Also, I had to set it aside because I needed to get working on a Sherman for another GB, which is almost assembled now.  If all goes well BOTH willl hit the paint shop this weekend!!  Its the first "free" weekend I've had in a month (X my fingers that it stays that way!)  I STILL don't know which basecoat I'll do....guess it will be a last minute decision!!
