Just finished up the VC 10 fuse with some beautifully laid down coats of pure white. Was just polishing off the Tamiya polishing compound, and a three inch crack has appeared down the spine....must have pressed too hard.

Well I spoke too early.. The paintwork came out ok, but the door and window decals just did what the others did and cumbled before my eyes again.. This little fella is going on the shelf. I will try and finish the 767-200 and that will be the last 1/200 kit I will evr build again.. too small for my liking.. The rest I have will be put up for the first buyer..

Ok guys.. A little update..

Got one half of my 1/144 747-400 decals. No change there..

And I have painted and decalled half of the 1/200 JAL 767-200.. As for the drama with the ANA 1/200 A320, I masked and painted the livery myself and got her back on track. Only the ANA decal on the tail to see how it looked.. Oh, and dont mind the grubby bench..

CD, can you mark the A319 as finished please, and put me down for an Airfix 1/144 VC 10 in BOAC colours, I've mentioned the kit, but haven't officially entered it in the build.

Well for me, I actually gave myself 10 out of 10 for the demarcation line I did for my A320, as I had decided to do it in the supplied ANA decals.. But thats where the fun ended...

Lets just say I have in the past tried to decal 5 various ANA birds over the years, with varying results. And yesterday was no exception.. I simply couldn't get them to line up properly, and after all the fiddling around, with the setting solution, they turned to crap before my eyes..

So now I am starting over, and will be doing the JetStar livery.. My wife also noted that she is yet to see me do a decent ANA scheme, and so although I think I am pretty good at decalling. This scheme just has me beat.. Although, painting the scheme, may be another option as of yet.. stay tuned..

I salute your demarcation an the belly colour panel. Having done something similiar ( and nowhere near as well) on the A319, I know how difficult that is.......

Hmmmm - A BA 777 crash diorama..............does anyone know where to get some 1/144 airport fire tenders ?

Summitt. I understand about the different engines on the 757. I had to check to make sure I had the correct ones. Here's a link to some resin engines from Brazmodels if you haven't already sent in your order for a new model. http://www.brazmodels.com/Boeing/B757-200/B757-200Kitphoto.htm  The 777 also has different engines depending on the carrier. Some have the GE's and some have the RR's.  On a quick look they appeare to be the same but on closer inspection there are differences.

That's the Minicraft 1/144 scale kit. Again it's quite large.  I've done mostly B737's and MD 80's so this was a challenge.

Myself ~ I was making good progress untill last night. I had my Dremnel out making the front of my engines opening (proper term ?) round instead off Egg Shape and as I was doing this I kept looking up at my reference photo... I have PW engines instead of RR's ....So at 3:am I placed another order for a Boeing 757-200 with RR engines this time. Oh well, Least I can laugh about it.

Here's my finished Air India B777.  It's a big model. The fin decals were the hardest as mentioned in previous posts. The only decals I didn't add because they did not show up on the red is the nose gear door decals. I'll try and find some in my stash. Other than the engine decals it's an attractive looking scheme.

CD I'd like to add a few more to this GB build.. not sure which ones I'll let you know when I have it figured out. I'm leaning towards the MC DC-8 and the Hasegawa MD-11.

I'll be there, just can't start till in the Summer. It's looking great so far, but you need an old timer, so I'll start after I finish IJN/IJA and Heavy Lifters.

My 767 is sitting on my desk taunting me. It's had to take back seat to more immediate projects, but I plan on participating. So many models, so little time...

I'm using the plain old Tamiya putty. The VC 10 is challenging as it was partly assembled when I acquired the kit. As I've said before, I think an over enthusiastic youngster had atacked it with tube glue.( Exactly as I would have done in my younger years). Result is that there were many glue fingerprints etc all over the fuse, which had made many small indentations all of which need filling. I think I'm pretty much on top of it now, and I am attacking the engine nacelles  ( which I had to break off, so reattaching them is another challenge )- but I'm getting there.

This is a great little band of Airliner folks gathered here. This is my first GB and I'm very much enjoying it I was hesitant to join a GB but it's turned out great.  I also invite others into the GB who may be a bit on the shy side. I think airliner models can be quite easy to build and paint..well the painting can be somewhat daunting. There usually aren't many parts; wings, fuesleage, engines (two if your doing that type) and landing gear if you want them displayed. The kit decals are usually pretty good quality too. Also if you go with the Hasegawa 1/200 kits you get a nice stand too. So if you stumble across this GB come on down and join us. Hats of to CD for starting this build and I love everyone's in progress and completed builds.

I'm able to participate more frequently than in the past cause I is retired and loving it!  I'm also a Mr Mom for my two growing boys. So I have a good junk of time to model in between doctors appointments, karate classes, trips to the video store, homework and after school activities.

I'm still in- Building my 777 a little at a time, but really I only have a few minutes a night at the most to build.

Mostly I'm lurking and posting a lot all over the forums. If only I could bring some supplies to work to build here...

But hey, our little band is having a good time and learning a lot, so I hope everyone participates, but we're doing OK.

Thanks.. I just went and had a look at the original page in the thread and was surprised to see so many names in the build.. I must say I understand people lead busy lives, but after 20 or so pages, we don't have alot of progress, and it seems as though there really is only yourself, Frank, Neil, Simon and myself participating consistantly.. I would like to invite the other members to not be shy and feel free in joining in! If I have missed someone, then my appologies in advance..

The A380 is on a very big back-burner, and the 747-400 is still sitting waiting for the rest of the decals to be placed on and wings to be built..

But I am currently dealing with the seams on the two little builds and will be starting painting on them tomorrow. I am still deciding on the livery for the A320 though..

Chris, I'm glad you're adding more stuff to the build, so let me make sure I haven't missed a step. If I have it straight, your list on the front page should look like this when I'm done...please confirm or correct me:

1/144 Revell A380 Qantas livery

1/144 Revell 747-400 in Northwest livery

1/200 Hasegawa 767-200 in JAL livery

1/200 Hasegawa A320 in ANA or JetStar livery

You can add the 1/200 A320 and the 767-200 to the build..

I couldn't help myself. These little kits are so addictive and simple, that I had to start on two at once.. I will be doing the 767-200 in the new JAL markings, and I would like to do the little A320 as a JetStar aircraft. But the ANA decals look nice on the sheet, so still deciding on that one.. So far, I have the hulls together and just working on the seam lines...
