Perhaps Bill, If you don't mind, because I'm a novice, have the time, I would appreciate if perhaps you might post them this go around. I've had a long, long, day. No sleep last night and I'm wiped. I'm struggling a bit with the tracks at the moment, It's been many years since I've done link to link. Thanks.

Eric,

I just finally got one of my pics put back on Ron's site. If you want to upload them there, they can be shown over here where everyone can drool over your Panther. It's really cool, guys. Considering Eric had to paint it 4 times, he really got it right on the last go round. Wish I could have seen some of the earlier attempts. I'll bet they weren't bad, either!

I faxed some pics to Bill, now have to send some to the forum. Just need to get those boring tracks together and wait on some transfers. When your site is running Derek, I'll send some pics to you.

yep i don't know why i was so intimidated with the airbrush camo, part of my personality i guess, i spend too much time thinking and reading about what i should or should not do instead of actualy doing anything, when i get it done once its not a problem afterwards. i absolutely hate doing things twice , rather do it right the first time even if it takes forever, which can be a good or bad thing depending on circumstances.

Derek: How do you write your html, straight in notepad or do you use a application? i started using a application called dreamwaver at the office and its realy nice and made it easy to do prety nice looking sites. humm well now that i think about it its not so great with image galleries which is what we're prety much doing here. on a side note are you going to put your new design on geocities? i'll most likely be buying some web space (500mgs space with 45gigs of transfer per month) , i could probably setup a subdomain to put the group build site there if you want, no ads or popups. the only thing keeping me from getting it right now is that i can't think of a domain name i like. let me know if your interested and i'll let you know as soon as i got it all setup

Derek,
not to worry, i am sure you will work it out.
i wonder if that's why i could not see your pictures yesterday when it seemed every one else could. maybe i was looking after the meltdown and they saw them before.
anyway, concentrate on your Panther!

Bill & Larry,
glad to hear the tracks are coming along.
keep after them.
Larry - your 'work night' sounds like mine. 5 minutes spent on tool handles on my IV-D.
:-0

Max ,
looks good!
don't worry too much abt the muzzle.
if you are going to blacken it w/ pastels or graphite, it should cover any bare spots.

Erics, Capt, and everyone still working -
keep after it guys, the finish line is in sight now!
this is kind of an endurance event, so concentrate on finishing,
and don't worry abt finishing 'first'.

i think i speak for more than just myself when i say i am really looking forward to
seeing the fruits of all this labor!

Max , that is a fine job you did there ! Are you sure that is your first try at airbrush camo? See its not that bad afterall so fear the airbrush not oh great one !Cool [8D] I also agree on the barrel , mine never comes out that good , it always seems to spatter around it on mine . Oh well that phase for me is not quite ( nor it may never ) be !

The website suffered a major meltdown (I messed it up BAD and removed it). It will be back up soon with improvements. Sorry bout any inconveniance but when you are learning HTML as you go these things happen.

Looks really great to me too, Max. I really like the camo. You did a great job striping the barrel. Mine don't come out nearly that well!

Congrats

ok here is a pic of my painted panther....i'm not realy happy with the pic but the conditions wheren't idea to take them. i just noticed the inside of the muzzle brake isn't painted very well but i'll fix that in the weathering anyway. painting went great until i tried doing the yellow, at that point my airbrush started to have fits and splattered all over the place, thankfully i was able to hide it by spraying green and red oxide over the spots where it got splattered. its also missing a bit of paint on the final drive (funny on all the things you see after you take pictures) but once the roadwheels and tracks are installed it won't be visible anyway

I got nothing done over the weekend due to being out of town, but hopefully I'll get a bit done tonight. I'm glad there are still a few of us around!!

Can't wait to see those WWII Productions tracks done up, Larry. Really sorry you had such problems with the Friuls! I can kinda relate!!

I've got all 196 links trimmed and touched up. Just got to get these babies together. I still have to order some transfers. I'm starting to see some light at the proverbial end of the tunnel. Want to finish up so I can jump into that M1 build.

Captain, how about a friendly race to see who finishes first? That might give both of us the necessary incentive to finish. Smile [:)]

As for me, I have stripped the Friuli treads off of my kit, thrown them away Sad [:(], and started building the WWII Production treads. I've got 40 links for one length done, but I am being SO lazy. I worked on them for a total of 10 minutes last night.

On the vehicle itself, I am in the wash stage. Tools have yet to be painted past the steel undercoat.

boybuddho. We were going to post on Derek's (Claymore's) site but he has had problems there. When everyone is finished I might be able to post a few pages with a couple of pics from everyone who built and submitted results.

Don't feel bad Max, I repainted my Panther no less than four times. I think I finally like it.
