Thought I'd bump this by posting the Pics of my King Tiger.  Wrapped up major constuction some time ago in August, but I've taken a break since then.  Hope to lay some DG on it later and do some camo later this week.  First time using the Magic Tracks, I'm pleased with the result and look to use them in the future.

Comment, critcism, hint, tips, etc. are welcome....

I ran into problems with the painting of my King Tiger, a lack of paint.  The can of Tamiya Dark Yellow, which I thought was smore than enough came up empty.  LHS has every other color but Dark Yellow.  The next time they are going to order is next month.  It's very fitting of a late war vehicle....

So, I think I'm going to have to withdraw that project.  I do have a 1/72 Dragon Panher G that I was planning on starting this week and I have enough Model master Dunkelgelb to brush paint it.  Can I switch it up this late in the game?

Proof that I haven't started yet:

bummer about the paint...

I will not be able to finish (or even start) this one, life/work issues wiped my 2008 GB season.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]

Between buying a new house and getting the old one sold, and all that entails, I realized I bit off way more than I could chew dedicating myself to all these GB's. I haven't even started my kit for this one. (Sucks because that badge was really sweet.) The only ones I can hope to keep up with are the ones that end next year/start next year. Sorry for being a flake.

Wow, everyone's dropping like flies! I feel like I should bang out a quick build to get some sort of building going on here. Bummer about the paint Glamdring, that KT looks good.

Belay my last.

I thought the GB already ended. I think I can get this thing banged out in 6 weeks. No reason why I can't the lower hull put together and the road wheels cleaned up and assembled today. I'll post some progress as soon as I make some...errr...progress...Dunce [D)]

yep, life/work issues in the summer/fall swatted me down like a fly! Boohoo [BH]

Decided to wipe the 2008 GB clean instead of rushing a build, and just concentrate on starting the ones due early 2009, like the Red Storm on the Reich GB and something about 251s Whistling [:-^]

Yo Stickman --

The rust and dirt are outstanding! I see this beast in a German scrapyard maybe 1947, a relic of the war, awaiting melt-down, quietly rusting away in the rain. The spare tracks are remarkable, the degree of deterioration you've been able to capture, as are the bent fenders and exhaust shrouds. Double-thumbs-up!

I'll probably scrape in with 12 hours to spare on mine, as usual -- right now I'm scratchbuilding a fighter cockpit for an SF conversion, one of two models I'm supposed to have finished on a deadline two weeks from now. GRRRRR!

Cheers,

Mike/TB379

stick man: Sign - Ditto [#ditto]...Tremendous work...absolutely spectacular!!! At 14 years old you're building at the level many only hope to aspire.  I don't recall you mentioning the level of weathering you wanted to depict in this build...but it is top-notch!!!  I hope Disastermaster sees this one...he'd love it...as do I, in fact, start a separate thread in armor, the rest of the guys should see this too!   Congratulations and thanks for participating...this will be a fine entry in the gallery at the completion of this GB.

Go grab the badge...

Guys:  Approaching 1 month left!...I'm going to start the gallery presentation of completed builds soon so let me know if I can take the liberty to choose the best photo,IMO, from your final post on this thread OR post another one you may have taken that you consider the best.

Also...if you know you're not going to finish this GB, let me know that too.

Thanks!

Perhaps a bit too "orangey" on some of the rust, but for the most part it's SPECTACULAR! Especially the exhaust shields - they look absolutely spot on! The sheer number of layers you have going here is amazing. Really good stuff! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Got all the PE zimm attached and the black painted on the road wheels. Tomorrow I'm going to assemble the turret and the hull and paint the center of the wheels. Should have more progress to show by Monday.

Jeff

SMJ - I know I've been a bad GB participant Disapprove [V]....I'm just now getting involved.  Unfortunately with so much going on I seriously doubt I can start and finish my Dragon Jagdpanther in time....at least in 1/35 scale.  If you're willing to allow me to stay in the GB I can switch to Dragon's 1/72 Jagdpanther and start working on it today.  At least it already has zimmerit!!Tongue [:P]

Um there is a possibility to be able to end on time...switch to a 72 scale... one of the two 72 scale armor I have is the Jagdpanther IV L/70

something to ponder...

bufflehead: No prob' going with 1/72!  Get on it! Please confirm if you switch.

Jmart: Same goes for you if you choose!

panzer88: A little late out of the gates, but time to make it, nice work so far!

SMJ - Thanks for allowing the switch to 1/72.  Its the zimmerit that would really slow me down as I don't want to use AM and I've never done small tile pattern by hand before.  In fact I just realized I've also got a 1/72 Dragon Late Tiger I that I might build at the same time!  Both already have zim!!  I'll get started tonight!

More progress. The weekend GB took a lot of my time

Lower hull is painted and I'll attach the wheels tomorrow after work. Turret is primered and will be painted tomorrow as well. Any and all comments welcome. Thanks for looking.

Jeff
