Still a bit of touch up painting needed, but overall, I think it came out well.... I still need to make the FOD covers, attach the undercarriage, hit her with Future and decals.....

Another small update on the CF-105,  panel lines wasahed, waiting for the overall lt. grey wash:

It just looked too "big & white" without the wash, so we will see where it goes from here !

Drew, Dave and Bondoman, thanks so much for the words of encourgagement, guys!  I am planning to do the wash coat later todya, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!  Pics will follow!

I'm thinking of joining the GB, but two quick questions first:

1) Will the cheesy, Hobbycrap 1/72 Snowbirds 'Toot' in my stash count?  Emphasis in the early posts seems to be on WWII machines.

2)  I've also got the 1/72 Avro Arrow in my stash and was considering doing a fantasy what-if build of an Arrow in actual service--would THIS count?

BGuy, Poppie, the GB host, has not been around much in the past few months but I believe both builds would be acceptable and let me be the first to welcome you to the GB.  I think the general intent was anything pre armed forces amalgamation (Feb 1, 1968).  In other words if it has RCAF on it instead of CAF you're good to go. 

As for the "what if" Arrow... how bout a diorama with a Russian Bear interception

Just looked at my previous posts and realize I double posted instead of just editing.  Must have been a late night. 

Chester, Biology was one of my favorite subjects but I didn't care much for the University style course.  There was something like 1400 students (University of Manitoba) taking the first year course and the Prof's  manage it by taping their lectures.    The up side was you could always catch the next viewing if you missed or had to skip a class.  Anyway, that was something like 20 years ago so I'm (almost) over it now!

I think I am going to build one for RCAF, I got F-84 pilot by D J Lindsay who shot down north korean jet fighter. but the problem is I have no idea about the code and the serial number.... I did talk with him about that but he did not remamber about those thing.... I hope you guys can help me.... thanks

This was quite a fun build overall, and the kit went together almost as well as some much more expensive ones!  I stil need to attach the landing gear covers and the nose probe, and she is done.  Hopefully it is a fitting tribute to an aircraft that "should  have been"!

Brian,  Wow!!  That came out really nice Brian and will be a nice addition to your collection.  I saw a 1/72 scale Arrow at the IPMS Vancouver show last weekend and to see one sitting next to a F-18 was a real eye opener as to the size of these things.  I really need to add one of these to the stash.

Frangkly, I really don't have any information for you, I stick mostly to WWII stuff.  I bet that if you post the same question in the Aircraft and Research sections that you'll get a much better response.

As for me, I opened up the Lancaster box and fondeled the styrene for awhile but it most likely won't get started until the new year.  I still have three builds on the workbench that I want to finish before I start the Lancaster.

Thanks for the kind words, Dave!  It is a big bird, close in size to the F-89D Scorpion and a bit larger than the F-100D Super Sabre.  I can't compare it to the more modern jets, as I haven't really gotten interested enough in them to build any ! 

Ah, the Lanc - a true classic!  I just managed to nick a Revell 1:32 Beaufighter on EvilBay for $3.99, no shipping as it was close by so I picked it up.....just need to find some a.m. cockpit goodies or do some scratchbuilding on her....looks like it will be a fun build, also!

Gee, it's gotten so QUIET around here.....anybody still building?

I'm not dead yet  Work on the Spitfire has droped to a crawl due to work, health issues and familliy stuff if everything works out I should be getting some bench time rather soon. Also there is a small change to my build.  Originaly I was planning to do a Mk Vb of 401 sqn used during the Dieppe raid however doing some more research I discovered 401 was using Mk IXc's during that period so my build will be of a 402 sqn aircraft from the same period.

Dave I'll have to wait till Jan to see you start the Lanc   I hoped seeing you work Your Lanc would inspire me to move mine forward I'm kinda stuck right now.

And here I was hoping that you were finishing yours up to inspire me to get started on mine!

One or two of the decals are screwed up--I'll let you have the fun of figuring out which--but it's done.  As per an earlier thread I enjoyed being part of, I guess I'm an "inconsistent-intermediate" level modeler.

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of the GB, though.
