SC, very nice indeed. All three are nice builds and well done. I also like all three displayed together. Despite your best efforts the RAF are still outnumbered. Valient try though. JK. Great participation in the GB SC.

Excellent work going on here gents.  I decided in a mad moment of motivation to attempt to crank out my Bf109E-3 for this build in pretty much one week.  Tonight I'm going to wrap up the assembly and maybe even get the undersides and sides painted.  I used Eduard PE seatbelts from an excellent misc. Luftwaffe seatbelt set.

Way to go Scott. Nice progress on the 109. Is it the Tamiya kit, if so you may just make it by the end of the week.

Freddie -- sweet Spit! The freehand camo looks great -- maybe not technically correct but it's so much easier than masking the topside colors that I feel the impulse to do the same!

Scott -- I'm having flashbacks, man! It's a great kit, she falls together. There's plenty of work in her but the result is very worthwhile. Looking forward to seeing her done,

Well, guys, it's November 2nd here in Aus, and the BoB GB 2008 has officially entered Extra Time! This might be a good moment to do a quick head-count -- who is still working on projects?

I'll lead off -- Matchbox Do 17 Z-2, about half done and on the back burner a) because it's a pain in the afterburner, and b) because I have four other main projects on deadlines. I do fully intent to finish it, though!

Whew! Talk about squeaking in under the gun! I just finished up my Airfix Hurricane Mk.I

There are many innaccuracies and mistakes on this one, but it looks pretty good to my eyes.

Not much detail in the pit, so I used the kit pilot......not much detail there either. It looks Ok with the closed canopy, though. Trying to finish this build 5 minutes at a time was the hardest part. I had to squeeze in bench time in wherever I could to get this one done.

This is my first camo scheme using Tamiya paint and tape, and let me say that they are both awesome! No tip drying and not a bit of paint lifting. I used Sky for the undersides and Khaki and Dark Green for the upper. The Airfix decals went down really great.....too bad they were slightly out of register. The red around the guns is actually decals, and the letters and roundels on the fuse are all one big decal per side....kinda tricky, but they turned out well.

Very good! I agree, the Tamiya paints have a really nice finish, and the decals went on a treat. Old Airfix has a fascination -- I have a Mk IX Spit I must brave one day...

Mark, great job on the Airfix Hurri.

For such an old kit it's not so bad, and as some have already pointed out, is more accurate than the Hase kit in some areas.

Dave, keep plugging away at that Br.20, I'm sure you'll make it a stunner.

It does build up pretty nice for a sub-$10 kit.....I may have to do another for next year. I'll just build a teeny bit quicker next time!

Finally got the camo on the BR 20.  Had to start over a couple of times as this is the first time I've attempted something like this.  I didn't end up with what I add started out for but I'm okay with what it is.  I used enamels, usually use acrylics, and had a hard time getting a consistant flow.  Anyway, here's a couple of pics.  I'll let it dry a few days and put the decals on next weekend.

Yo Razor -- it might not have been what you originally envisioned, but that is one spectacular paintjob!!! Your airbrush control is incredibly impressive!!! I know I couldn't do it, uness the scale was big or I was soft-masking, or both. may I ask what AB you use, and what your pressure settings were?

PS: The EZ-Line and black pigment have both arrived, so there'll be some extra shots of the Emil when her final details are done.

Bondo, Italy sent up several squadron's of Fiat BR 20M bombers as well as some Fiat CR 42 fighters for escort to participate in the Battle of Britain.  This particular aircraft will be in the markings of 13 Stormo Bombardamento - 43 Gruppo.  They contributed very little and ended up being more of a publicity stunt than anything else.

Mike, my first attempt was using soft masking but it would've taken me three months to do it that way so I went free hand.  Would you believe I use a Paasche H airbrush.  Air pressure right around 20 psi.

Hi Razor -- Wow, mostly freehanded! That's a fearsome job but you carried it off superbly, you even have a consistent lustre! Will you be doing a panel wash?

I'm intending to do some freehand Luftwaffe mottle, I'll do the famous Bf 109 E-4 Black 8 in North Africa camo, and I expect it'll be a real challenge, not least because finesse calls for high pressure and high pressure eats up my gas bottle. I'm not sure the price of a quality (silent) compressor these days but I'm paying about Aus$200/year now for hire of a bottle plus two exchanges, and it won't need to get much more expensive before a compressor becomes attractive.

I did sone fineline work in acrylics not long ago and found my Paasche VL can deliver the tight groupings, but it sure used a lot of air. Maybe with practice I can be more economical.

Mark, it has a consistent overall sheen because I gave it an overall misting of the base colour which helps to blend everything together.

My modeling room has been overtaken by extra guests for a few weeks so progress will be slow.  

Hey Hey Hey, whats up guys!

I have finally got back on the forums.  It had been so long since I was here last, been taking care of life/family/work in the mean time.  I am going to be a daddy x2 soon, Nov 11 was our due date so I guess were are now in overtime or extratime depending on what sport you watch.  Oh yeah, this one will be a boy again so I'll have two to try and pass on the modelling bug too.

 Dave, nice work!  is that the BR.20 you had got a couple years ago for a BoB build?  We went halvsies on the FCM decals.  At least you're working on yours, I still haven't touched the Bf-110c I have. 

Karl and Darren glad to see your still around.  I haven't touched my models since May when the model desk/area became storage as we prepared for the new baby.

Some new names too and some pretty good worktoo. Maxsheridan, good work on that Airfix hurricane, That is one of my fouvorite aircraft.

 So what have you all been up too!
