I size my badge at 130 or so pixels in height, but I think it does say the maximum somewhere in the thread in the community forum.  I seem to remember 150.  130 seems to allow enough size for the readability of most text.

I like the badge put forth.

That's true about the Banshees early roles in the War.

Ultimately, I'll have my Banshee, Panther and a converted  Skyradier together for Korean War carrier based aircraft.

That's interesting, Chris. I really enjoy the learning side of these Group Builds...

It would be neat to see one side-by-side to compare the size and shape differences of those w planes. From the little reading I've since done, it looks like the Banshee was used more for the long escort role by both the Navy and the Marines.

That looks to be pretty ambitious...and awarding when you complete it. Personally I'm hoping you go for it as it adds a rare bird to this GB.

Out of ignorance I ask: what are the differences between the Banshee and the Panther? They look pretty similar.

Now there's one you don't see modeled every day. An older Hawk kit sounds challenging...especially with a conversion kit involved. Keep window shopping and let me know what you decide. There is nothing against multiple entries, too!

This build got me thinking of other Korean War era fighters and 'window' shoping on ebay. I just bought a Testors(Hawk) 1/48 F2H-2 Banshee.

I realize it's a dated kit and not really of a F2H-2 but I found some on-line conversion articles that made me want to give it a try. Can't promise I'll do it for this build.

Now maybe I'm wrong about this, but wan't the armistice signed by the U.S. and North Korea? I guess the War is still going on between North and South Korea.

As for your F-16, that would be great for the Cold War build....or maybe we could just have a new, very relaxed Cold Beer GB?!?!?

yeah know, technically the Korean War didn't end...

there was a cease fire but not it didn't end in the early '50s as most people think. When I was there in 83-84 I still received credit from the VFW for particpating in the Korean War. That considered...does that mean I can build an F-16 from Kunsan or an A-10 from Suwon?

Thanks.  I had no trouble reading it.   I have read in more than one place that F-86E's did get the mod, but since I wasn't there and they didn't send me notification when they did it (hey I was 5 or 6 at the time, why not!) I guess I can't prove any did.

The F-86 is about 50% done but I won't be doing anything with it until after 6/25.  I'll get some photo's posted before I do any additional work.  Thanks!

I think it has been done Charles, and I have done some test fitting.  The D had a deeper fuselage so the F center section/wheel well area has to be used.  I'm going to start working on it pretty soon.  There is a panel line at the lower root with small round impressions in it,  That is where I plan to do the join, and it is where the full scale wing joins to the fuselage.  The upper wing doesn't look like it will be too big of a problem, it is a 90 degree fit to the fuselage.

Well that was fast! I ordered my Sabre from Sprue Bros. on Tuesday and it arrived today...wow!

Now I have to figure out what I want to do with the wing. The Hasegawa has the hard wing and I need the pre-"6-3" slotted wing. John says the Revelogram F-86D wing works well...I wonder how it fits up to the HAsegawa fuselage?

Anyone out there try this yet?
