Holy Crud!!  Only 3 weeks to go???  YIKES!!  I better get my butt in gear!!  I just finished a build for the "No More Excuses" GB so now I can dive right into the Tamiya JS-2.  I've heard its a gem of a kit and easy to assemble so maybe, just maybe, I can get it done in time!  Its the painting that always slows me down though!

Scott!  Where's your JS-2?  I need something to aspire to!!

I hear that, I finally had some weather warm enough to hit the Panther with DG from the rattle can over the weekend.  Hopefully I'll  have a warm weekend so I can experiment with the new airbrush and hopefully put the camo on....think I'll be going with the one tone Totenkopf version.

I really want to finish this build on time!

All right guys, really don't mean to be stupid, but how does one get their group build badge?? I finished my build and wanted my badge but couldn't get it.

Jim,

First, if not a wash, then what did you do to the sandbags to make them look that way?  C'mon, share the knowledge!

Second, for the badge go to the first page of this GB and copy & save the group badge image from Scott's first post.  Then upload it to the same image hosting site that you use for your photos.  Then go into your profile to update it by adding the image link to your signature.  That's it!

Scott-As is becoming habit more than I care for it to, I have my kit (King Tiger), aluminium barrel & Berlin '45 decals.....just not enough time.  My fault thought-over committing and taking a mental break.  Dunno if extending the deadline would motivate me but I do look forward to the next historic theme GB.  btw-how's the knee?

Yes, by the end of May...that should give everyone 8 days to finish up their stuff for the 251's GB.

Given the extension & the lack of good judgement on my part, I've started on the King Tiger-primed the road wheels & lower chasis with Krylon red oxide today.  Hope to get the wheels painted and lower chasis assembled by weeks' end.

The kit is the Dragon 'Battle of the Bulge' Tiger II, 1/35th scale.  I'll be using the Bison 'Berlin'45' decal for a Tiger II of s.SS Pz Abt 503 destroyed outside Polsdamer Banhof.

I still have a fair amount of work to get done on my JS-2 as well.  91% alcohol works great with Mr. Surfacer, just have to be patient as it takes a little bit bit before it begins to react and dissolve the Mr. Surfacer, especially if it is fairly thick. 

Hey all!  I just wanted to upate you on my progress with the JS-2.  I finally cleaned up the fuel tanks (thanks to alcohol AND some acetone) and decided to tackle the indie links.  I spent several hours cleaning up all the pin marks (one of my pet peeves...curse you Tamiya for putting two on nearly every link!!) That was on Saturday and I managed to glue together one of the top runs that night.  Then on Sunday morning I had a medical emergency that put me in the hospital and I'm still there.  Yep!  I'm typing this as I sit looking out my hospital room window!  But I'm doing fine now and scheduled to be released tomorrow and I hope to jump right back into this build and post some photos in a couple of days.
