Just another set of tool holders is the griffin set.  They have only two pieces and fold up real easy.  I love them.  With them I can mount them and weather, then add the tools latter.

Good day!

Dupes has had to chase me down - I have been MIA from the forums.  Business travel has kept me away from my hobby table the last few months.  Hope to get moving on my /21 soon.  There are still a few months left, so I should have plenty of time to catch up.

Is it to late to sign up for this build?

Anyone know of a good source for indi-links for my 251 Stuka Zu Fuss?

ALSO, I found the "251 in Action" book on Amazon.com for $7 +$4 S&H...can anyone beat that?

I'd like to have the tracks and book in my arsenal soon!

SMJ- For your Tamiya 251, I would highly recommend Hobbyboss's AM tracks. They are very similar to Dragon's and if you're careful you can make them workable. I used them on my Tamiya 251/9 Stummel for Dupe"s Winter Warrior Group Build, and they worked and fit great. And they aren't that expensive, around $10.

panzer88: I was considering that route but R34_White built the Stuka Zu Fuss (my build) and said that the Hobbyboss tracks had a fit problem...any input?!

Hey Mike! Not too late to sign up, but be sure to look at the first page to review all of the GB rules - there are only a few variants left that aren't already spoken for. If you're willing to build one of the remaining /xx's, then you're welcome to get in! I can review those with you if you want.

Russ - glad to have you back! Looking forward to your /21! Big Smile [:D]

Now if we can only get a hold of Assurgeant...Sad [:(]

Hate to have to do this, but we're going to hit the midpoint of this GB over the weekend, and I've been unable to get a hold of Assurgeant. I fear he's left the forums. I've had some PM request to get in on the 251-action, so I'm going to hand off his 251/7 to Some Assembly Required - hopefully we'll see him start his build shortly, and I'm sure we'll see him post in the thread soon.

To the rest of you - keep it up! Should see some updates from SMJ very soon, as well as a kit-cracking from me shortly. Bish should be back from deployment before too long as well, I would think.

We are packing our gear as we speake, should be home in a few days. Already have a plane of action for the 251. First job will be the thrid colour. Then, once i find some future floor polish a coat of that. Going to try the weather method shown on the Hetzer in the Jan issue of FSM. That should just leave the tracks and tools. I have two weeks leave when i get home so fingurs crossed, that will be enough time to to finish.

Here's where I stand with my 251/1 "Falke". She's pretty much done, but I'm not too happy with the kit supplied radio antennae. It looks a little too chunky, I might have to make a new one out of stetched sprue. Well here's the pics, there's alot of them. Sorry dialup users.

Bish - Fair winds and following seas on your return home! (Hey Im a Navy vet, you get navy lingo ;)

panzer88 - very nicely done; camo came out great, good blend in. Front wheels are excellent; good weathering and not a sign of a seam. Interior - well done, the amount of "chipping" is spot on for my own taste (ie not overdone). It is indeed a winner IMHO :)  cheers

Steve - PM read and book shipped! enjoy Party [party] Look forward to your build

WOW,, halfway already.  Where has the time gone.

Well, I am happy to report that, after the Superbowl, I got started on the /4.  No progress pics yet, and I am only on the first step, but hey... it is underway!!

Progress - good to see! In the future Aaron if you could shrink those pics down to a slightly more manageable size (say 800x600 or 1024x768) that would be a HUUUGE help to those of us still living in the stone age, saddled with dialup internet. I know, I know. Meh. Disapprove [V]

Heh. Speaking of wisdom teeth, I had a particularly nasty case of those a few years back...this one was not "sedative-optional"! In fact, worst, most invasive surgery I've ever had extracting it from my jawbone. Eeeeeks.

panzer88: Another beauty!!!  This would look awesome with the Panther from "Big Cats" in a dio'...how about it!!!  The weathering on this is really nice...I see you are developing your own "signature" look...REALLY well doneBow [bow]  The interior abuse is perfect expept for the seats, IMO..they are a bit monochromatic...how about an additional dark brown wash and/or drybrush highlights...?, same with the butt end of the machine guns.

I noticed there are no markings or insignia...?Confused [%-)]  What did you use for the width indicators?...kit supplied or AM?

dupe Been back in the UK a couple of days now, will be getting back to the /17 very soon. Though after looking at the doog's, not sure i should bother, got alot to compete with lol.

On looking at mine, i am not happy with the green, way to dark. And after seeing doog's, i think i might re-do it useing Tamiya Field Grey.

As well as adding 6 more 251's to my stash i also have a new compressor which really must be tested soon Big Smile [:D]. Well, i have 4 weeks leave, so hopefully i can get to grips with my GB backlog. Will post some pics soon.

O, i intend to. Got a few new toys to try out and quite a few new kits.Pics will be forthcoming in a few days.

If i recall correctly, did you recommend adding a few drops of Tamiya XF-52 to HF-65 red brown for the thrid colour.

Yes, I did.  XF-65 is a bit too bright (or reddish) for my tastes, so a little XF-52 tones it down a bit.  I've gone as high as a 1 part XF-52 to 2 parts XF-65.  Try it and see what you think.  But do it on scrap plastic just in case you disagree.  I'd hate for you to waste your 4 week leave by coming across the pond to hunt me down for ruining your GB build...
