OH JOY!!!

the Landing gear struts under the wing.....they are the same....no left/ right.. idiots. when you key the holes and attaching parts.....uhh...then you cant make them duplicates.

No wait , im the idiot!! haha, they will work....but the drawing is wrong. crap o matic. love this stuff, so fun, oh yeah bender here!

wish I has closed up the gear doors. this landing gear is total crap fit.

What's really a HOOT, is they put in 2 pieces of Photo-etch for the front gear.  Why bother ?

pull those out and maximize the profit! can you tell I'm jsut a little mad ? hehehe.

thank goodness for high placed shelving, no, wait low placed, top view only!

Most of the Paint is on the Airframe!

need to paint the jet exhaust nozzle section (or paint over in this case).

Well, I made a little bit of progress yesterday.  I managed to line up the cockpit and nose wheel bay into one half of the fuselage.

I also assembled the counter-rotating prop system.  I still waiting on some tiny styrene tubing to make the exhaust pipes.  After I get that done, it's on to the overly-complicated struts.

The part I'm not looking forward to at all, is the wing installation. There's no real way to mount the the wings except copious amounts of glue

should be putting on a primer coat in about an hour or two. Canopy glue need to fully dry.

Do you mean a base with the clear curved rod included ?

If you look on ebay you can probally find a nice base to apply to this plane, dirt cheap. Probally less than 5.00 US.

I have a base from an old snap on kit i may use to finnish up my P-39 thats sitting arouund with a broken strut.

You could ask around on this forum, someone may have a base that they would be willing to send you for the cost of shipping.

I have a Special Hobby Fokker D.XX1, it's actually a nice kit. I'm sorry to see that yours seems a bit sparse.

I must say, if one goes to the work to mill a mold....why the *&^ dont you cad in another few lines, chuck up another bit, and mill the obvious things.

There's no great sense of accomplishment in "playing" with a part to get it centered up.... Its like a job half done, these molds that made the parts.  While I can appreciate the obscure planes, this will be my one and only special hobby brand kit. not at $30 , its not worth it.  

so....here's what $30 gets you, lol.

this is the Special Hobby 1/48 Gloster E28/39 Pioneer, British "First Jet" 2 were made.

I'm sorry to hear about the wheel well problems.

I'll be working Saturday so my bench time will be Sunday once again. I need to clean all my cockpit parts and possibly get a prime coat on the fuselage halves.

I really hate the fact the these Czech kits dont have the fit pins to keep everything in place. It feels like Im assembling a vacuform kit.

How are you likeing the fit of your Czech kit? Any problems?

Well, after working late every night for a week and change, here's the pics I promised way back when

pit side walls and side IPs

1 fuselage half with exhaust drilled out

And tub, seat and center IP

I hope to get it painted soon and then maybe get some construction done on the rest.

I just did a pre-fit of my Czech Model "Dark Sark".

Czech Models do not have tab fttings to keep you fuslage in place. It's a bit like building a vacuform kit. The fit was not very good on my kit. This should be another learning experience for me.

I'm glad to see you checked in. It's been a bit slow in this GB so far. I know I'm trying to find a bit of time to build myself. I'll probally start on my cockpit this Sunday. I'll be sure to post some progress pics.

After placing my N-1M in hiatus to wait for October 1, I got wrapped up in some other projects that now fill my bench.  Not to fear, I hope to make some progress on a figure set over the next week, and then devote my attention to this build.  I did mange to work on cleaning up the leading edge some more about a week ago, and I did install the engine mounts and lower rear wheel and fin.  I will see about getting a photograph taken before I add the paint to the exterior.

Well, I think I finished major construction of the cockpit.  Now I just have to get it painted up.

Drilled out the exhaust ports, but I need to get some correct sized tubing before I can button it up.

I'll post pics of what I have, tonight; though it's not much to look at.

I'm looking forward to seeing that Bullet. I've had my eyes on the kit for some time now.

Well, I started the Bullet yesterday.  Not much to show picture-wise; just been adding some styrene detail to the resin 'pit.

When I get to a point of something being picture worthy, I'll be more than happy to snap a few.
