Nice dirt, grunge look. You have settled in on those MIG pigments and have their use down pat. nice when you layer them and you did a great job. They are great!!

You may have gone easy on the sag on the tracks but there is no sag in your work.

Very nice. Good of you to give the under view. Most (including me) don't usaully show how the underside is weathered.

Mike, thanks for the props! If ou look at ref photos, most of these seemed to keep prety toght tracks, therefore the negligible sag.

Marc-- Ifeel your pain about the weathering that is now mostly covered;I hated to do it, but it ust didn't look complete without some dirt stuck up there. And then, the bottom of the hull wouldn't have looked right if I'd left that bare. Oh well. Choices, choiices!

Tony--yeah, sorry I missed you!--I didn't realize Jenn's class was so early--I drove her up to SU and then went over to Walt's around 9:30-ish. 

Well guys--here's the finished pics. I have decided against putting in the loading crew, since; A., the figures just aren't that great, and, B. they just obstructed the view. Perhaps if it were in a dio, they would be necessary, but I think I'll leave them out for now.

Before you look at the finished pics, here's a new technique that I used for weathering to portray "splatter". I fully admit that I learned and borrowed this from Adam Wilder of MIG Productions. What you do is to load your brush up with paint--it should actually be more on the thick side--don't thin it! Then you blow your air stream from the air brush through it. If the planets are aligned right, you get a nice splatter of color on the model; I used it for the wheels and suspension, and sides, somewhat. WARNING! This technique is best practiced before you dare try it on the actual model--it can very, very quickly go awry! Keep a wet brush of water handy to wash off any errant spray--it took me three times to get the look I wanted! Here's how it's done.

Gentlemen, I present "My Horny 'Nisse" LOL!

Weathering was done with MIG filters and washes, and pigments on the suspension affixed with MIG acrylic resin and MIG Pigment Fixer. No "sealing coat--Dullcoat, etc--was used anywhere.

The muffler was completed with a combination of MIG pigments, and MIG 502 oils, ad well as drybrushed craft paints...

The cable is from Kayaba. Yes, it's wire--I had to anneal it on the stove burner. (Bill, I know, I know; I said I usually use twine...)

The antenna is a guitar string...

Some of the deeper chips and scratches were made by using tan craft paint, which was then painted over with502 Abt. oil "Primer Red", which ws then painted in with a metallic grey--this gave a three-layer effect of paint degradation. I went "easy" on not overdoing these.

Hans is proud of his new convertible! It's a partywagen! 

Some interior shots--note the "liberated" box of cognac/vodka...

Hornisse's and Nashorns would fill their racks with shells and then literally stack the floor with the remaining tubes of ammo, to be put into the racks later.

Another one for the collection. My case has been wanting one of these formidable jaegers! Next up--the Sdkfz 251/17 Ausf. D w/2cm Schwebelafette!

Simply the best work you've done to date, IMO...the amount of weathering is just right and the mud/dust/grime doesn't get any better...interior work is top-notch and the camo is perfect...ammo racks and ammo are sublime...pick your competition and take the gold...5 stars...I love your "Horny-Z" and want to marry it......

Nice fig as well, although I would have preferred a shirtless Russian chick...lol... 

WOW Karl, since I think all your work is killer i'll just say this one is just one more example of your "BEST".

I like the idea of the figure because it gives me a sense of scale but it does cover the map case.  Can you put him on the other side as if he's looking out the back and thinking of home?

    Really, really nice Karl.  Top notch all around.  There is so much you can do with open tops to make them look lived in.  Hans and a case of cognac... I agree with Manny; where are the women.   I also like the spatter technique; I'll have to try it sometime.  A really fine job.  I like it so much that I think Manny should marry it.

Hans is looking mighty good. He has the look of pumping iron! The camo on his pants is excellent. I worked through the decal for figs, painting them in camo and getting it that good.....we it is inspiring.

Overall has a nice "lived in" look. You seem to have become a MIGologist. I love their stuff and need a few more but you are having way too much fun.

Wow, this really is a nice piece of work.  I'll be keeping a close eye on your builds and learning from your Jedi master ways!  I have an old built Tam Marder III (I think) and I am going to paint it and try your weathering techniques out.  Once again a beautiful build.
