A decade ago my snowboarding buddies decided to nickname me "bufflehead"   Not knowing what it meant I looked it up:

(n.) a small North American duck (Bucephala albeola), black on top and white underneath

(n.) One who has a large head; a heavy, stupid fellow.

Hmmmm...which one would you have picked?  Laugh [(-D]

Wirraway 'cause I'm from down under, and it is recognisable as one of the few Australian built aircraft.  The Devo Power Dome 'cause I'm still stuck in the 80's and they're one of my favorite bands.

I saw Devo on a televised concert the other day, and I realized just how old I'm getting!

(talking in a low whisper) For myself, I've always loved the F-105 Thunderchief. Hence, one of the nicknames is Leadsled. I know it may be sacrilegious to announce that in this forum but I have turned 45% to the dark side (45% remains in aircraft & 10% in autos)

OK.....here is the derivation again...

redleg is what an artilleryman is called. 12 was part of my "in open" callsign. Rather than use 6 for commander, in the open we used a little bit more complicated system...1 for commander, 2 for second unit or Bravo battery...and thus redleg12....the best time of all my years in the military

Im not really sure how mine came to mind.

I was reading a story about the red army pushing back the Grerman army at the end of WW2 and it kinda just popped in to my head.

"They rolled in to the Germans like a giant Russian fist".

I am a big fan of the T-34 and many things russian.

It just sounded cool to me.

As for my Avitar, well I just thought Godzilla chewing on a model boat was just to good to pass up.

You got a telegram from headquarters today. Headquarters--what is it? Well, it's a big building where generals meet, but that's not important right now. [ img] f_armorsecretm_ac7eb73[/ img]

haha oh... well... mine's kind of interesting I guess. I was in 8th grade trying to make a screen-name on AOL and every name combination I tried was taken... I must have tried a good dozen or so combinations and nothing came back as available.

So I got a little POed and, well- I guess I took the anger and just ran with it... so came psstoff995- added in the two words- hit random generate and out that popped with a numer that was easy enough to remeber...

I guess it's a little like the drunk tattoo that you regret years later but at the same time you kind of laugh at in and realise that was where you were back in the day haha

As for my avatar... it hasn't... really changed. It's the first 1/35 scale figure figure I ever really painted up as a decient, serious build. Everything prior had been plastic kits with mold reliese marks and full of flash, heavy on the testors glue and no gap filling or anything all under a mediocre coat of thick paint. So when I had photographed it the first time around, it was taken with 35mm film and under fluorescent lighting, came out pretty yellow even after my best photoshop. This new avatar is the same figure, same pose, same background and lighting, just with a much nicer digital camera that I had a much better handle of- no photoshop this time around!

LOL!!!!  awsome.. love it Big Smile [:D]

Well, my name... Bah.. I had to change from another name I had which seemed too childish after a while  "Sorry"..  That came from a birthdayparty I had where we played Medal Of Honour European Assault on the GameCube..  I had to think of a nice name to have.. Something with humour.. So it ended with that "Sorry killed [...]" And at the time I did find it rather funny...

A little over two years ago I decided to  change it..  I hate to change names, I like to keep one for as loooong as possible.. But that name was really out of date.. So, I sat down and tought alot.. But nothing. I decided to change name on my "company" as well, as that name was somewhat out of date as well.. actually not, but I did change it..

I tried to take different things and tweak the names, and I took one of my favorite dogs, a Husky, along with sheperd and irish wolfdog, and tweaked the Husky name.. Change position on the SK to KS and swap them to an X.. tada! Then I had a name for my company..  So I named myself after my company, not the other way around, as many people do...

My avatar is from a book about Warhammer 40.000. I took the bookcover (Haven't read the book, nor do I own it) and used MS paint (This was before my Photoshop time) and cut him more or less perfectly out, mirrored him so he faces towards the posts, and changed the backgroundcover to the FSM off-white kind.. I chose the avatar just for this forum... I am considering changing it to a picture of myself..

Also, my little company "Huxy Productions" as I have named it, have ben around for, as said, a little over 4 years. But nothing big has ever gotten out of it. I am now currently trying to boost it up for some real buisness Smile [:)]

And mg.mikael: Michael is Mikael as well as in Norwegian and Danish, and probably some more languages...   Norwegian, Swedish and Danish is pretty similar, a little more different than British and American, but still so similar we have little problem understanding eachother Wink [;)]

So that explains my story.... Hope you enojyed!! (Just noticed, I got the longest post Shock [:O] )

Can YOU pronounce Dupuy? Yeah, well, if you can't you're not alone. Hence the moniker "Dupes" bestowed upon me. Started waaaaay back when and stuck pretty much permanently. Shoot, even my Dad calls me Dupes.

My user name is the original spelling of my last name. Our last name was Americanized upon immigration, like happened to alot of people. Its also kind of a nickname at work as well.

I guess I'm just no fun at all, my name is my handle. I prefer the missing-lynx way, I want to know your name. Sort of old school, I like to know who I am "talking to". I would rather leave the "smokey and the bandit" rubber duck thing to the kids.

A while back, before I joined this site, I had another account at Scale Auto. For some reason my account was locked/closed/ or is otherwise innaccessible. When I set up a new one, I was building a 1/24 AC cobra. Totally unoriginal and very lame, but it was supposed to be temporary. Oh well, since it ended up being permanent, and I like to keep things consistant between the forums, this is how I signed up here. The avatar is my favorite plane, the C-17.

My username is my initials with a 1 added. It used to be monrad back when i was a member the first time, monrad is my middle name and outside my native Denmark no one ever uses that username, but i didn't want to reopen my old account when i returned so i had to come up with a new on.

1st, I llllooooovvvvveee tank destroyers!

Most especially Stug III s, also Jagdpanthers.

I also had played a part in the restoration of a Stug III Ausf. G Early that once belonged to a member of the 2nd Panzer Division renactment group.

I tried online gaming once, and the correct spelling of "panzerjaeger" was taken so I took a slightly off spelling and it worked.

So when I joined the forum, I accedently misspelled the name, and with no knowledge of how to fix it here I am "PANZERJEAGER" forever more!

 Tom F. (PANZERJEAGER)

P.S. My avitar is the E-25 that was my 1st post here.

"paintswithbrush" came from the fact that I do not now, nor have I ever, owned an airbrush setup.
I could not afford one then and that has not changed now.
I am a devout user of the nylon handled Testors paint brush.
Thus the moniker: "paintwithbrush"
As far as the subject of avatar goes, I don't know squat about computers, including how to load photos.

Ditto onthe computer idiot thing, When I figure it out, we'll all be too old to care. Retired after lots of years in the military, aviation. So now I just amble through life with no set direction and not in total control, hence "deadhead". Apparently there was a Rock and Roll bands fan base that uses this moniker also, I am not one of those. To all my friends, even those I have yet to meet, I am Will, William, perhaps Willi with an "i" not a "y", but never Bill.

Go into HERE:

/forums/654172/ShowPost.aspx

You should be able to handle it... I did, so anyone can...

As for avatars, you can't remote link it so you upload it right from you PC to your profile.  Just go back into your profile by going to "UPDATE PROFILE" at the top of the page.  Click on it and your profile stuff appears (BTW, Don't click on your name to update it. It'll just show you whtt others see) .  Scroll down to "Avatar" and clic "Yes" in "Enable Avatar" and then click "Browse" to open you picture folder.  Pick whatever one you have in there you want others to see, and then click "Open". The avatar address will appear in the window, then click "Update".  Then scroll down and click "Save Changes".

Your avatar should appear on you posts.  It might take a little while for it to appear though, so don't get riled if you don't see it right away...  It should be up in 10-15 minutes after you upload...

Erik, the eagle is the so-called "Bundesadler" or Federal Eagle, aka as the federal Chicken and is the official coat of arms of the Federal republic of Germany and can be found on all official flags flown at official buildings. here is a link if you would like to know more about it.

Sometimes also called the Bundesgeier, the "federal vulture" or "federal buzzard", in ironic allusion to the Pleitegeier, the "bankruptcy vulture", said to hover over a failing business.
