I started out as an 11B10 and ended up a 13A00.
back in 81 the itv was for the m901 improved tow vehicle, the 63 tango covered the m151 a2 jeep, m-578 armored recovery, m113a2, m-106, m-577,m-35 2 1/2 ton,m-561 gamma goat and also the bradley which i never saw until my unit the 1/9 cavalry squadron ist cav got them 2 weeks before my ets.
A mechanic on ITVs and all those other contraptions? Most of the vehicles in my old Mech battalion...
Crosssed the equator a few times on the USS Oklahoma City ,CLG -5 . Served on her from 1964 -1967 . 30 months of that was on a WesPac cuise home port Yokosuka, Japan .We spent some time at Yankee station , Tonkin Gulf and some more time carrying out NGFS missions up and down the coast of Vietnam . On one of those NGFS missions we had a reporter from Life magazine take a few pictures and this one made the cover in August 1965.

A 63T works (or used to work on) the ITVs. Both the ITV and the 63T have been long gone; ITVs in the 90s and the 63T somewhere in the early 2000s. 63T and 45T merged to become 63M (now called 91M) around 1999-2001 timeframe. The MOS designation change from 63-series to 91-series came just a few years ago to align with the officer MOS numerical designation. During the numerical designation change, some officer branches became the enlisted number (armor officers went from 12-series to 19-series to match the enlisted).
The decision to make the maintenance series match the officer numerical designation was probably CASCOM driven. With the new push to make all CSS officers 90A multi-functional logisticians, it seems they wanted all CSS officers and enlisted in the same numbers bunch beginning with 88 for transportation, 89E for EOD (formerly 91E), 90A logistics, 91 for maintenance and 92 for quartermaster.

He's followed me through college and was the mascot for my university fencing team. The head gear is my dress blues service cap trimed in artillery red (my last brach qualification, I started out in the infantry).

Kind of suits my online ultra ego persona, send enough lead down range and it will have a effect. If nothing else it keeps heads down!... No wonder many threads I had the last word on..?
The roots are deeper though, long before internet & a triumphant return to the hobby in 2005. The 90's was all about paintball tournaments. Always out gunned & the underdogs, our rag tag band of misfits always put up a good fight and suprised the sure bet teams with mad skills & brave acts of undeniable sacrafice, courage and odds defying wins. 'the Wild Cardz' Name still resonates fear & respect in these parts to those who witnessed the chaos & shootin' kung-fu that was unleashed.
One proven tactic was to call 'Fire' on a position to allow advance upon it. 'Suppression Fire' was shortened to 'Fire' for quicker tactical response.
Oh......the fun, the fun....
Stage_Left refers to two things: my favorite album (Exit Stage Left) by one of my two all-time favorite bands: Rush. The other meaning is that I'm a part-time professional musician, so obviously I'm on stage from time to time.....although stage left isn't always 'my' spot.
