This is a shameless bump
Just wanted to share that this model was awarded the 2nd place ribbon at a local contest (armor, closed top).
tigerman Excellent job Sprue. I don't think you could pay me enough to cross on one of those though. LOL

yeah, me neither. Have you ever seen the movie, "Wages of Fear" or (Sorcerer)
wbill76, thank you, sir
deafpanzer This is my favorite shot... outstanding work. Had to be a record I counted 18 wheels each side...

at 18 wheels X2 (the other halves) for me it IS a record... whew
Very impressive result! Your efforts paid off at every level on this beast for sure.

I love it , excellent work she is a catwalk queen, would love to see how she would place at competition. Its my opinion she should get gold.
Terry.
thanks fellas! and yes, there will be more because now I like Soviet/Russian armor building
SprueOne- fantastic job! LOVE how this build came out. The 'in action' shots are killer, too......
This is one of the best looking projects I've seen here in recent history and the new pictures are much, much more on par with the efforts you have expended on this subject.
Everything has come together beautifully, extremely well done and hopefully an indicator of more to come.
Andy
Very kind words, gentlemen. Thank you
krow113, haha, true only two 7.62's.
Here are a few outdoor shots I just made after work today.
DM, A couple bigger images for you and some 'drama' shots
The following shots are actual 1/35 footage from SprueOne's back yard ... never seen before.
Thanks for looking in
Absolutely beautiful.
Just wish that last picture was bigger.
You need some "DRAMA" shots here.
Excellent , A bit anti-climactic though ! By that I mean no guns or armaments. Your work is very good ,especially the primer-wash procedure. Out door shots on a base would be great.
Thank you ,Krow113
I think I'm pretty much done with this build.
thanks, Bill.
the lengths have been figured out and cut. The kit supplied hooks attached to the ends. Painting (weathering) them now
Nice trick for the cables, definitely look the part.
thanks for looking in
I forgot to mention that after the glue set the string ends in the holes, I carefully rotated the drums with a pair of long nose pliers.
they were rotated 180º so the hole will be on the bottom and out of sight
then each coil was strung through and around until I reached the other side of the drum
I didn't know another way of doing this part because there will be hooks glued to each other end at a specific length
Still looking great. I have enjoyed following your WIP. Keep posting...
Today I started the bridge cable mechanism using #08 whipping twine.
First I drilled holes into the drums and set the string in with CA glue.
After the glue sets securely, I'll wrap the string around the drums one layer deep. Then around that pulley at the arm elbow area then to the hook loops on the bridge.
!
MM - haha, thanks for checking in I learned most of these techs from other modelers
I took disastermaster's advice and carefully used a flat black wash. Thanks, DM !
Pawel - interesting, I didn't know about the glass info
Amazing project exhibiting a great deal of skill! The subject isn't really mine, but I've picked up some great modeling techniques by watching your WIP. Truely a great result!!! I think I hate you.

Glass? I'd say - not in a russian tank! Glass only causes problems and is too expensive.

If those are called vision ports- would there be glass in there?
