Dre

Hinsky- I haven't been 'round this Armor forum for a long while, but I am awed by your JSU-153 and the Pz.III N.

If there was a "Most Improved Since Joining the FSM, Armor" award category,  I'd certainly vote for you.

Well done, sir.  Very well done.

Ditto Ditto Ditto  Agree with Dre's comment regarding Ben's latest builds.  Now he is taking his time to do fine details and all of that stuff... his latest builds are coming out great especially Pz III N which is my favorite.

Wow - cheers guys,

I'll admit that the JSU, the Pz III N (and the Pz I A) are my personal faves but like Andy said, now I'm spending a LOT more time on research and preparation my work has really improved - A LOT Yes

This time tomorrow I'll hopefully have a completed whitewashed Hairspray Hetzer to show off.

Cheers again Dre and Andy!

Take care, Ben Toast

Ben - As you know I am not a Germaholic but what I can say is to echo the others, you have come a long way. You have learned the key ingredient..... patience. I am sure the Ontos you tried more than a year ago is now in your ability. It is always good to see someone here on the forums grow. You have done well.

Marc - Always love your peanut butter army! Wink

Great builds everybody! Only four builds this year if I can finish my current build StuG! It is still better than last year as I finished only three builds... remember I model at snail pace of my family and work commitments.  And I like to include figures to all of my armor builds.

My 1st build... Dragon Marder II "Coal Thief" for Marder Madness.

Figures from Dragon with resin heads from Verlinden...

My 2nd build... old Italeri M24 Chaffee for Stikpusher's Korea War GB.
Figures from Dragon... probably my favorite figures so far.

My 3rd build for Kermit's Ostfront GB... Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf H from the 70's if you recall.

Figures from Dragon...

My current build for my Panzer III GB... Dragon Imperial StuG III Ausf F/8- 75% completed

Figures from Dragon... still in process

Already have my future builds lined up for 2012... Tamiya Char Bis for Eric's BITW GB if time permits, Dragon UH-1D Huey (Yes, a helicopter! My first commission build ever), Tamiya M8 Howitzer for Rob's Semper Fi GB and few more hopefully.

Eric- Thanks!  Had too much fun building that Marder.  Beer

Rick- Thanks!  Which builds should I enter?  Still thinking about it... like I said I model just for pleasure. Big Smile

Maybe we can reach an agreement that you will enter your recent builds especially those Mustangs and Mosquito... they looked great!  I will be in touch to make a plan for us to get together maybe for lunch?  John of course can join us too.

Andy, They're all contenders, but I love the way that Chaffee sets.  I agree, we got to get the Ogre back to Indy.  Hey you other Hoosiers, give us a holler and join us at the Roscoe Turner contest/show  in early March.  It would be a nice event to put some faces with avatars.  We had a great visit last year.  Andy, we should start a thread when the show gets a little closer.  Rick.

Good year for some!

Great models by all!

It seems so long ago, yet before my son was born in June I had a bit of time and space to model. Sometime before that I completed a project that became a quagmire of scratch building:

1/72 Italeri Hetzer 'Chwat' (Brave Person)

Vignette & tribute to the Warsaw Uprising resistance to follow...

Yes, this year was pretty good for my armor builds, I finished up several older extended builds and also a few new builds.

First completed was my 1/35 Tamiya Kfz 251/1C

then my 1/35 Tamiya Centurion Mk.3

next completed was a "quick build" of the 1/35 Tamiya Renault UE Armored Carrier

then an Academy 1/35 M151A1C 1/4 ton with 106mm Recoilless Rifle built in a weekend

followed by completion of my long in progress ESCI 1/35 LAV C2

and a short while ago another "rapid" build, my final AFV for 2011, 1/35 Dragon Panzer Mk III H

better than last year Wink

It isn't the exact M48 variant, but is is based on the 'PATTON' tanks.

Quality is always better than quantity!

Excellent builds ogrejohn!

...Unless of course you follow the Communist Manifesto according to

Joseph Stalin:

Quantity is its own quality

The T-34/85 is weathered perfectly and deserves a few more photos.YesCamera
