Tony,Thank you for continuing sharing your work, enjoy following your builds and always look out for your postings!Great stuff as usual...Is that the full part blow on the DML running gear, with moveable suspension?Very Best RegardsJohan
Johan if you're asking about the object above that is a Schurzen mounting bracket or hanger.
Schurzen is the metal plates or in this case wire screens that protect the thinner metal sides of a tank from bazooka rockets(RPGs as they are called today).
Thanks for the compliment Jay

Pvt Mutt I wonder if DML and Tristar use the same instruction printers Tony lee
I wonder if DML and Tristar use the same instruction printers
OK....if you remember the movie.....she names the instruction printer
Nice catch.....Oh you are one of the left turn people

Looking real good!!! I wondered the same when I worked on Tristar Panzer I last year but it was little better than Dragon in my opinion. I am curious which one do you like so far? The quality itself only...
Andy
Andy the L/70(A) is a more recent release by Tristar and I find the plastic texture is not consistent from sprue to sprue. It's from soft to brittle hard, other than that this kit is in the same ball park as other DML kits i've built.
The DML L/70(V) with zimmerite is one of their latest kits and i'll keep your question in mind while building it and let you know.
Howdy
Right side Schurzen mounts completed
Stormy night but today has been beautiful
Looking great! Thanks for the response about Tristar and DML kits. Guess what? I have been summoned to the jury duty for the Jagdpanzer IV trial... looking forward to come up with the verdict and carry death penalty for the worst kit. Oh I just watch one too many movies...
Keep it coming buddy!
Looking forward to the Thoma shields. Don't see them every day.
Eric
Ditto to Eric's comments...making good progress Tony.
BP Models
I was looking to see how the screens were going to fit and there are no top hangers, Tristar says to just glue the top of the screens to the rail, you might do that but not me Tristar.
I've got a Aber PE set for the L/70(A) which includes those 18 hangers and this morning I made a jig to hold the center blade in place while I soldered them, not enough surface area for glue to hold them.
All I need to do now is make 16 more pins and that task is done.

The skill to solder something that small I find just incredible I'd have given up to be honest

Thanks
I've never done Thoma schurzen before and I just had to try one before Monday even though my back is killin me.
All soldered up
Not as bad as I thought it would be but it takes a delicate touch for sure.
Have a great weekend all
The Thoma schurzen are impressive Tony, very nice!
It had me worried at first Bill but having gained some confidence for Monday will make it easier to do the rest.
I read you passed and that's great so relax and enjoy your time off.
Later buddy
That's great looking 'see thru' skirt! Very impressive...
Hey All
All they need is the lower hangers attached to the screen and all done.
Doing those was really SUPER FUN
The Thoma shields look great.
Very nice...love the look
Nice work as always
Thanks Tman and Mike you're right they're different alright.
I have a strong suspicion that the Thoma shields are the main reason why you don't see too many of these get built...but they definitely look sharp and you've done an excellent job with them Tony. Can't wait to see the next installment.
They're not that hard to do Bill, it's just delicate work.
I wanted to get the tracks assembled today before going back to the A-O, job done
Back to the A-O tomorrow
A commendable job with those shields,Tony! I built the Eduard version of them, and they're delicate indeed. Kudo's to you for the soldering job! Wow!
They're going to look smokin' on that jaggy!
You really think so Karl? I bet you're just makin me feel good you sly doog.
Thanks my friend
deafpanzer That's great looking 'see thru' skirt! Very impressive...
Oh yeah, nothing beats a see though skirt
Super job Tony.
Edited because I'm horrible with names

The morning shift had to take the wife's car and get it inspected so she could renew her plates.
I did patch up those gaps in the zimmerit where I had to cut it for fit. Installed the schurzen mounts and fitted the rear deck armor plates.
Now you see it:
Now you don't:
That's it for today folks
Nice job patching the zim Tony, would never know you had to make some alterations once the primer is on.
NO way I can tell now... nice job!
