Looks great. Should dirty up just fine.

I don't think it's to late Chris. Most have not even started yet. I have so i would have something to do while waiting on some replacement tracks.

Out of the paintshop...ready to get dirty...I spent two nights scratchbuilding the interior for the turret... and you can't see much, but it's in there...much better IMHO than just an empty box...Now just some good weathering and get the tracks nice and dirty... and she should be "ready to roll" :)

Oh yeah, the green was a little over thinned...corrected, but put quite a bit of the RLM 83 on her... oh well.. :)

Yeah I think so too. I have seen some good online builds of this baby, and they are all OOB exept for the decals, but I already got new decals from TwoBobs. Besides I have already spent my monthly AM budget on some Aber PE for .......... A King Tiger ofcourse.

Yeah like all the others said. Very beautiful Chris.

Hmm that 1/32 Hornet is looking at me in a funny way, should I go ahead and start, or should I wait for that compressor. Arrh I also need to finish the Leopold, and I need the paint for the Hornet. Should I go OOB or should I get some AM parts, AAARRRHHH the choices, I can't handle it its too much. Big Smile [:D]

Not sure on the start date on this one either... or the end date. I am working on my D-Day build and Bomber build now as I know when they end, but hopefully someone will figure out the dates for this one!

Ok one last pic for the day, night, morning or what ever it is now. Need some opinions on if this looks allright or not. I am wanting a look for it like it has seen some use and since my knowledge of airplanes is that they fly unless they make an unscheaduled landing, I am going int the weathering of this thing blind. Here is one side of the wing bottom with a wash done. Had to touch up alot since I don't exactly have a brush that is as small as those panel lines. If this looks ok I will continue in the manner, if not I will probally continue in this manner.

Ok , no more pics until atleast tommorow sometime I promise. And since I am going fishing here in a couple of hours , thats one I can keep. Big Smile [:D]

Now that's what I'm talkin' about. I raise my Bass to a fellow treadhead.

(Editor's note: I just pre-ordered the SBD-2.[:0])

One of the sites, Great Models or Squadron, listed 'canopy mask' as part of the SBD-2, included with the kit.
Is this really that difficult or time consuming? I was thinking just some blue masking tape over the Future-dunked plastic and Bob's your uncle.

I came home today for about an hour during work and masked and painted the canopy. Still trying to figure out what the big commotion about those are. Took about 30 minutes and it was done. Probally get a pic up tonite of it.

That doesn't suprise me, after you've conquered so many armor builds in lightening speed.

To bad those lightning builds are more like a small trickle now. I can't remember the last time I finished something. Got to hate it when work gets in the way of play.

Here is the canopy. It's the first time I have ever painted one. When I was a kid I always just glued em on and thought they looked like a crappy plain bubble on top. Never thought about painting in the frame. This probally could have been better , but I can live with it. That and my airbrush is crapping out on me , so not much more painting going to get done now. Just put a coat of future on it to so I can maybe get to decaling tommorow. Looks more gray now than blue, hope that goes back to normal when it dries.

Thanks guys. I would almost admit that it has been a fun build, but would'nt want the flyboys to get to big of a head.

Nice job there Chris, I expected no less! Certainly is an enigmatic plane. Well done.

Dday and John, nobody seems to have any idea of the start date, so consider my approval official. You are both in and welcome.
