The only problem is the Monster wasn't used as a basis for a BT design.  The closest in appearance ( and even this is stretching a bit ) is the Behemoth/Stone Rhino.  The good news about that one is that it was different enough from the Macross designs that it wasn't included in the list of "unseen" after the legal issues came up.

actualy, it did get the chop and reseen mini. I happen to own both of them. it sucks cause I like the original one better.
Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

I would love some of these to be repopped in 1/72nd so I can finish my Heavy Lance.

Only mech I have is the Battlemaster from the Revell kit.  I also have the 8-wheeled armored car (with the turret) and would like a few more of the ground vehicles.

The ones I have seen on ebay always go for a small fortune so little chance I will get them there.

The ones I want are the Marauder, Rifleman and Warhammer.

I've seen the 1:72s of the mecha you mentioned on ebay.  You're right, waaay too much for my budget as well.  Have you thought about the 1:100 versions of those mechs to be closer to the BT "game" scale as opposed to the scale from the original animes?

I also have the Ziyon kit.  I'm planning on building it with the Kurita reflective camo scheme from the old MechWarrior rulebook.  I'm also looking at using some of my spares of other Macross kits in 1:100 for similar BT projects.  After what I read about the lance you want to build, I checked the kits I had handy for size and thought about the BT tonnage stats.  First, the stats: Battlemaster-85t, Marauder-75t, Warhammer-70t, Rifleman-60t.

The box for the Ziyon kit says it's 16.5 cm assembled.  The size for the Glaug ( BT "Marauder" ) in 1:100 is also about 16.5 cm and would be about 23cm in 1:72.  The Tomahawk ( BT "Warhammer" ) is 12.7 cm in 1:100 and would be 17.6 cm in 1:72.  I didn't have the Defender ( BT "Rifleman" ) kit handy, but it's about the same size as the Tomahawk. Going with 1:72 for all of them, you'd have the "Lord of the Battlefield" being shorter than mechs 10-15 tons lighter, 25 tons in the case of the Rifleman!

The only kit with visible crew is the Ziyon so you don't have to worry about different-scale visible pilots.

I have wondered about the 1/100 scale mechs. Seen a guy do a Marauder in that scale and he said it was closer to 72nd. I would need to see all 4 mechs together to decide. I also thought about the reflective camo as it just looks cooler.
Been trying to figure out what scenario to put the lance in, especially if I manage to get all four.
1. Under maintenance at base.
2. Preparing for an assault in a Drop Ship bay.
3. In combat in the wild (trees, hills, etc)
4. in combat in an urban environment.

In terms of scale, it's really only relevant to the original context in which they appeared.

As far as the Macross Glaug kits (BT Marauder) are concerned, compared with other "same scale" kits ftom the Macross series, they are undersized. Remembering that a Zentraedi pilot/soldier is roughly the same size as a Valkyrie, you have to ask yourself "Would a Valkyrie fit in the cockpit?".  If I recall correctly, the answer would have to be "No". (A 1/100 scale Valkyrie is about 14 cm tall.)

However, taken out of the Macross Universe and put into the BT Universe, you can call it any scale you want.

EDIT: Having said that, the "official" quoted height for a Battroid Valkyrie is 12.68m, whereas the quoted height for a Glaug is 16.55m - put it down to artistic license I suppose.....
