Oh no. Not space aliens again. Remember what I said if I ever met one? Don't you? I'd go spider monkey on em. I'd fling them bug eyed devils against the wall. It would be a cage match that they won't win. Hehe.

Thanks for temping me though. As far as space aliens go... she is pretty pretty with all those flashing lights and stuff.

Quark always had good taste!!!

I've got that figure and Odo around somewhere. Next ST/figure build I should try to get him painted up.

Just so you guy's know, I really am a Sci-fi nut.

Ihave alway's wanted to build THIS !

But the kit price of $995.00, and shipping $45.00 is just too much for my Wife to find out about.

[ Cheesy "Timmy" prize for the first one to guess the name of the film, and the name of the ship. ]

I don't have a clue what it's from. I'd put my money on Gamera to figure it out.

Oh yeah, the 'Valley Forge' from 'Silent Running'.

Weird thing is I read the novelization back in elementary school in the late '70s but still haven't seen the film.

Wow I didn't know anyone made a kit of the ship. Pretty friggin' cool... but not a thousand bucks cool. (at least not to lil' ol' me!) Whistling

While on the subject of cool movie spacecraft, the U.S.S. Cygnus, the floating cathedral of space. Awesome looking spacecraft and when the lights come on for the first time WHAM! it's one heck of an impact!

Too bad the movie is well... um... it's about 50% whoa that's cool and 50% what the heck were they thinking!?!

There was a kit back when the movie came out the early '80s but it's very hard to find and I've heard it's terrible. Funny some guy has done a 3D printed version but it's also over a thousand bucks...

Back in 2015 I found the AMT kit for the Cygnus in a thrift store .... for $20 ! But there were other kit's there that I wanted, and only had so much money, so I figured I would go back and get it next week. Of course it was gone ! The AMT kit was two feet long !

Yea, the movie 1/2 cool ... 1/2 S U C K E D !

Whis I would have got the kit. Never seen it since.

Your prize for getting the correct answer's .... 5 minute's locked in a room with Robbie the Robot...

A few more shots from Silent Running.

I wonder how many tank kit's gave there live's to build the film model ???

It looks cool, but I don't think $995 cool. Just my opinion.

Hey! I have a slightly used, unfinished Icarus kit that I will sell you for half that. It includes plastic people that can be used for the occupants. What do you think? Never mind the cancerous holes in the hull. A little paint will fix that right up. Do we have a deal?

Timmy: Wow, I wish you'd bought that 'Cygnus' kit since I'd love to see you post photos! I'd like to have one just to have something unusual and rare. I did pick up the three kits releashed with the '80s 'Dune' movie at a con years ago cheap. Maybe I'll build them someday, I just think it's cool to have them.

That 'Valley Forge' kit does look super cool. I'd pay about a hundred-two hundred bucks maybe- just not a little shy of a thousand.

I did almost pay about five hundred for a rare Japanese garage kit of the Millennium version of Mechagodzilla. Thankfully the guy took a week to get back to me and I came to my senses: 'Gee Cliff, you're going to pay five hundred bucks for a resin garage kit that probably looks like krap!?!?!'

What are you doing to me man? I am in the middle of a negotiation! Bury it? I'm trying to get Timmy to buy it! LOL. Anyone willing to spend $995 on a space model is surely willing to spend half that on another space model. Albeit, a somewhat challenged model. But... that is the reason for my massive price discount.  Don't tell him what I am up to. Hehe.

Timmy did you see all the improvements Bakster made to his 'Icarus' kit??? It's probably worth a lot more now, maybe $2000-3000 smackers!!!

Your obviously mad at me for putting you in that room with a malfunctioning robot.

There is a "Cash Equivalent" you could take instead ..... say $3000.00 ....

Wanna go in halv's with me on this spaceship I found for sale ???

 Darth Who ...?

And I stand corrected. The kit I almost bought was by MPC.

Not sure if this is the kit ( with added light's )

Or ,it may be the Filming miniature.

Gave more than some consideration to at least a version of Valley Forge after getting a bunch of Woodland Scenics "Scenes" as gifts.  They were closeouts and in some microscale, like N or ZZ or some such.

At the time I had a bro who was working vac forming retail signs, so getting cast off clear domed platsic was not going to be an issue.  A TDY rolled my way, and the pieces parts and the larger plan were all separated to the points of the compass.

Such is life.

Oh, and becasue life is inherently circular--I was bored the other day, and tried to fly VF-style domes into space in Kerbak Space Program.  It was not a stunning success.  But, that's almost the point of KSP.  To try stuff and see if everyone turns into monkeys when you get back.

Timmy: Lol, yeah I think there was a lot of 'make the evil robot look like Vader' attitude in there! Cool backstage photos there.

CaptMac: Love that idea, you could make some pretty neat life domes like that. Even make your own 'Valley Forge'.

So is a remake of 'Silent Running' in production yet? If not I'm looking for one in the next ten years or so considering Hollywierd's current obsession with remaking everything...

Yea, me too. But they will never be able to replace Bruce Dern in that role. He was the perfect match for that role.
