I agree with you Larry,
And I hope I'm wrong but this could be the death knell for Aliens, as well as Predator.

Well, some have been.
I love the first Alien movie. It's a classic gothic horror movie, set in space. The second movie is a fun action pic with more of a brain than most. I didn't especially care for the following two, but putting the Alien franchise in movies with another action movie franchise really does sound the death knell for the Alien movies as a series of serious pictures, IMO. It's a very comic-book fanboyish direction to take the Alien franchise (not that there's anything wrong with that!

), which started life with what is arguably one of the greatest movies ever made.
The fact that you can get a movie summary from a video game website really does say a lot about who the movie will be aimed at.
The Predator movie is a fun movie for beer and pretzels, but it's pure professional wrestling stuff -- fine if you like greased muscle male soap opera. For me it's a guilty pleasure. Note though that the movie is a breeding ground for US governors. I wonder when the Predator himself will be made governor, and what state it will be? Better that than Carl Weathers.
Although it doesn't really matter much in the end -- it doesn't look like Alien 5 was going to take off anyway. There were rumors that Ridley Scott was considering making Alien 5 if it ever took off, but I think AvP will more or less assure that it never does. So I think the movie's tagline -- "No Matter Who Wins, We Lose" -- is more accurate than the moviemakers realize.
It's always good to see that Lance Henrikson is getting work though.
