Greydeath,
Nice looking walkers. I like the Crayfish name but doesn't fit with the Tau that much.
Also, you ought to contact ForgeWorld. They may be interested in your design.

Thanks guys for the welcome and no Deusmex I shure dont have a name for the walker yet.

As far as the Crayfish go there supposed to be from the the lower tech sept.
I will write some stuff up but I am still a little ways away from having a hole walking army of them.

Well thanks for adding me and I will get the badge on.
I will look back a post or two to see how?

Well thanks this is the motivation I needed to get moving on it.

Don't I know it. Now if I could just get a couple of the mechs in 72nd for not too much. Need a Marauder, Warhammer, and Rifleman to complete my Heavy Lance (have a Battlemaster).

Those kits are getting rarer and rarer. Try to get hold of some Dougram Videos, most of the original battletech's unseen mechs are from there(as well as Macross, Mospeada, Crusher Joe, etc.)

Check the link below for all the dougram mechs and vehicles:
http://www.mahq.net/mecha/dougram/dougram.htm

[edit]
Just checked they are actually missing quiet a bit of support vehicles like the APC, Hover crafts, etc.

HTH.

crikey!

I was lucky enough to get a 1:100 Marauder and 1:200 Marauder and a 1:200 Rifleman a few weeks back.

I have a couple of the old articulated Warhammers that just need clean up and a paintjob. I think they are close to 1:72?

cheers

Mike

1/72 VF-1D Valkyrie (old bandai transformable kit)
1/144 Mylene Valkyrie (Resin Kit)
1/48 Mospeada Veritech fighter
1/12 Mospeada Bike and Rider
1/48 Orguss Olson Standard Type
1/48 Orguss Olson Custom Type

My SF stash is very poor currently and to think of all those excellent kits I missed out on buying!during my 4 year exile from the hobby (long story = ex wife) Thank God my lovely wife Lorraine (she who builds and paints mini's and figures) encourages me now!

I gave away a lot of my Macross kits or exchanged them for aircraft kits.

cheers

I still have 4 1/200 scale Battlepods to do then maybe I can finish up one of my 2 1/12 scale Mospeada Ride Armour kits ( Robotech : The new Generation) I still have pics of my non transformable 1/12 scale Ride Armour since I have to repair the figure after it fell off my stereo last month.

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

Hey Matt, IM a little comfused about the requirements for the GB. Has anyone started thier project yet? I have and Ive got a vehicle starting to take shape. Ill post pics later. What im confused about is the craft im making is more or less a hover craft so to speak, and it really doesnt have any weapons other than defensive and most drop ships dont have weapons of destrucion or do they? Also if this doesnt fit the criteria ive got a scratchbuild going on that is an armored fighting suit that is capable of destruction called a Skinhead 2, similar to the Skinhead I had posted pics of. Let me know what you think. Later, Jerry

Jerry.

You should be ok. I have started the 2 fighting suits(Koubu) for my build, and later on in january I will start the 2 Mini-tanks.

Agreed that most dropships only carry defensive weapons and just enough firepower to secure the landing site.

Jerry,
I am interested in that hovercraft you are doing.
One of my goals is a Hovertank ala Hammers Slammers so any inspiration (even if it is unarmed) is greatly appreciated.
I also received just received the Crusher Joe Crawler that I won on ebay. This is the 1/60th scale kit (and it is small). Read a Sci-fi short story a long time ago that had a squad with a similiar weapon they called Pinochio (wish I could find where or even which book that is in).
Think I will pick up a couple of Cadian troopers from Citadale and try to create a little dio with this. Looks like a simple and quick build. Just got to figure what color(s) to paint it and get the figs.

To answer your questions about dropships or hover craft. The way I see it is that these are support craft for ground forces so in a way they carry a very big punch. So it is safe to say your project plans will be just fine stipp.
I think...key word think, I have my dropship project ready to start soon. Just have to put together my supply list and head to the hobby shop.

I Always liked CrusherJoe, and everytime I tried to win one of those kits somebody always beats me.Sad [:(]
The hovercraft is approximatly 1/72 scale or even 1/100, and it started out as a plastic box that carried tooth whitening gel and retainers for my wife, I do have acouple more of these things.Everything else thats on it comes from my Ma.K parts box, so its to say that its part of that Maschinen Krieger universe that woud release those armored fighting suits. I hope to post some pics of the container and the primer phase.Tongue [:P]

Sound cool stipp, can't wait to see your idea. Awhile back I started collecting odd shapes and containers ect. and find that I've used several items in scratch projects. I've often wondered what my kids will think of the things they find in my shop some day.Laugh [(-D]

Hmmm...
I just read the Falkenberg's Legion series and was thinking about a Fleet Marine assult boat in 1/35. They don't really detail what one looks like in the books, but it is a ship that decends from space and lands on water. I would probably do it in close to 1/35 but it would be all scratchbuilt.
It's just at the idea phase now, so I don't know weather I will do it or now. I am already doing something else for this build, so I might not get around to it.

Thanks guys! Actually it is a Hornisse box that had a badly built ups of a hornisse and pka and a raccoon that someone did and they werent salvageable so i use them for parts on my scratchbuilds as in this craft which i used the engins and the fans underneath and used a resin copy of a gustav engine cooling fan on top and put some spare brass screen and just epoxyed them inBig Smile [:D]

the top dropship pic looks very Tau like

I would love to build a grav tank like the one on the cover of the old Traveller: Fire, Fusion and Steel rulebook. It was armed with a single fusion cannon IIRC

cheers

The top one is a Tau ship (make sure you check out the link for the other pics).

and price wise they are a little steep (250 pounds for the Tau ship).

ouch!!

250 pounds???? That is over AU$600....

Too rich for my blood and I suspect too rich of GW's target age group as well.

cheers

Shock [:O]Holy smokes thats a ton-o-change.
I decided to scrap the dropship idea. I was sitting at my bench and started looking at a 350th scale USS Missouri and that got me thinking of a massive hovership that could deploy dropships from a hanger at the stern. She could set down on landing pads mounted to each of the four huge turbines, two fore and two aft. A large ramp at the bow could open to deploy hover tanks ground troops and walkers. The thing would be bristling with weapons and really big. Evil [}:)]

Since I am in a lull at the moment(too much parties, too much liquor and too little sleep) I have been thinking of scrapping the koubu and replacing them with 2 1/24 scopedogs Red Shoulder customs.

Now those things pack a LOT of punch in a small(height 3.8m) package(multiple guns, rocket launchers, H2H capabilities).

Now that its the first of the year I thought I would do a head count to see how the troops are doing. I for one am going to go with the hovership I've been designing. She will be 350th scale with fully detailed front cargo bay and rear hanger decks. I'll see about putting up some drawings when I'm done working out some minor details with it.
