Ok. So I thought I would post something in here just to get it back to the first page so other can see it. I'm moving slowly on my skimmer/gunship idea since real life seems to constantly get in the way. Started painting the inside of my house and everything is mess. Still trying in my spare time though, at 11:30 at night when everyone's asleep. Talk to you all later.

Well

I have started on the base for my Marauder Battlemech now. Once everything is finished I can flatcoat and weather the 'mech a little more...

You know, I may Scratch something else to toss into this build after I complete a few of my other kits (Trade Fed Tank, Blitz Gundam, 1965 Corvair conversion kitbash). I was thinking I could come up with something to build as a "backburner" project when waiting for my next focused build to dry/set/cure/etc (1/48 P-61 Black Widow). I'll let ya know once I'm closer to closing out a few of these other builds.

Sounds like your having fun JonBig Smile [:D]. Last night I finally drew the main body of my anti grav dropship out on some styrene and made the first cuts. Boy does that feel good! Anyway I now have the main body of the craft and will start building the container for it tonight. Once thats done I'll start building up the surface detail. As it turns out its looking to be more along the line of 1:100th scale??? I'm not going to worry to much about that Tongue [:P]

Matt,

Yeah, quite a bit of progress has been made, but the had-painting stages of this kit are giving me a heck of a time. I'm havin' a cow over here... moo. For the torso and legs, the silver and red detail colors are on, still need to paint the "purple" color (which will be more of a purple/grey by the time I'm done with it) on the torso and legs. One arm is just about complete, needs a bit more silver. The other arm needs some of the "red lovin'" and a bit more silver. None of the weapons/"pretty pretty princess" accessories have been detail painted yet. I estimate being about 85% complete now.

Just gotta motivate myself to finish painting this bugger!

Either way, ya mind if I join? Thanks in advance.

You've got an a very nice build started there.Bow [bow].

I have finaly decided to go back to the first chose I made of a dropship. It will be based on a 3D image from a game (not sure what) with my own twist. I'm thinking somewhere in the 1:48th scale range.

So with all these members how is it going??? Any more progress pics???Tongue [:P]

Watch out for the fit on the hammerhead, I won one in a drawing at my local GW store. It's got some horrible fit problems with the sides of the tank.

Also, check out the GW group build- http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?page=1&TOPIC_ID=30803

Whoa, you made that graphic?!? Awesome! If so I gotta hand it to ya, that's so much better than my little scribbles I call "drawings"! Thumbs Up [tup]

Well, I believe that part of the criteria for the build is the machine be capable of "mass destruction" so just slap an unguided rocket launcher system on there and you should be set! Wink [;)] I would think a flying platform would be used for close support of infantry during a ground assault. Hmm, Matt I think it would be your call on this one!

Updates folks! Updates! Send 'em!

As for me: The Blitz has a few layers of the silver I'm using to replace the grey pictured on the box, and is looking mighty good. Sure I suck at painting, but the way the color selection looks right now makes up for it. I'll just have to do some touch ups and some sanding to even out the finish and it'll be perfect (what was that about the best laid plans? LOL!) I'm letting it set up for the next couple days and I plan on having that bad-boy done by Monday morning. So what's everyone else up to?

Well one thing that I do I leave anything that I paint or wash sit over nite in the paint both that me and my friend have. The 4 90mm computer fans that we have for the exhaust on it seem to do a nice job of keeping a steady and consitant air flow over it. other than that I don't know what else you could do. I know that when we were making coustom computer cases we would bake them in the oven, but were working with plastics, not metal, so I wouldnt go that route.

Cool beans, Tater! Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup] I really like it. It looks futuristic and at the same time it comes off as a real looking piece of equipment.

So, it's been a few days since any updates popped up, how's everyone's projects going? As for me, I'm still letting the paint cure. I don't want any fingerprints in that gloss black like I had show up with the other coat I put on there. Anyone have any ideas to speed up the curing of gloss enamel paint? I live in Denver, so putting it outside in the sun to let it "bake" isn't going to happen, it would come back into the house with ice all over it!

Thanks! I`ll tell you that it wasnt easy to build this craft out of a teeth whitening gel container! How ever I did look to Kow Yokoyamas drawings for inspiration.

Nice job so far everyone! My Blitz is done being painted the base gloss black and I'm letting it cure for another 4 or so days. Afterwards I'll be adding my detail colors, then sealed with the Krylon Satin Clear. Should be done by the beginning of next week.
