PANZERWAFFE

WW2 - Sounds good.  Look forward to seeing the pictures.  Did you get those decals in the end?

I did not, I figure I have some time to look around.

Carl- "Frigging" awesome job using the paste on your little jeep!  I would have used the bad word but it is not allowed here.  Can't wait to see more...

Rob,,    always welcome pal...  I have a feeling you are not going to let that hatch stay as it is...  casting, here we come!      I'm sure you will do a good job with whatever you decide (best of luck with it)

Carl,,   [[ broken record here ]]    the jeep looks fantastic. Are you going to lift the hood to show off that great engine?     (dam well better,,   ha)           I like to use pastels too. When I do seal them I use the same method as I do over my water color weathering,, a few light mists of flat. I seem to have pretty good luck with them holding their color.     There are some instances where I don't seal however.... but handling the piece afterwards gets tricky on those occasions.                Now,   you're back frettin about those bumpers?        Bounce off those bumpers,, they look fine!  I have additional backing from Rob and I would bet the rest of the group too...   they are fine

WW2,,    looking forward to your pic posts. Good luck with the decal search!

Enjoy the ride!

Rob, yes i remember that you liked my Pz III . I wwont forget your graciouse complement of it . Like Bill said a light coat of dullcoat is best . Too wet and the colors disappear. Like Bill i leave the final coat as is and dont handle the model .......at least handle it carefully .Lately i've gotten into the habbit of reading kit reviews on line and forming my judgements that way . After a few reviews i can get a good idea on the quality of the kit . The kit i was ooking at by Trumpeter is their SA2 Sam Guidline missile with transport  , #00204 . Looks like a beautiful kit and the reviews are good .

WW2 - Bummer about the running out of paint but at least theres an easy solutionWink

CARL - Looking SWEET with the jeep.

How could you leave us hanging..........of course, lets see what you gotStick out tongue  If you made a good haul sounds like you have a good hobby store there?  Nothing good around me and now buy most of lineSad  I prefer to go to the store and brows and talk and just be able to put things in my hand.  Like to be able to support the local stores also but there just seems to be not that many around anymore.  Anyway, what ya get??

Andy , naw i didnt do it for bill only . You know i like getting the feedback from all of you guys .Yes

I did pretty good today on model purchases . Up in Spokane there is a sporting goods / toy store that has been around since 1948 ......!!! The owner that originally started up the business is in his mid 80's now . He's a vet from WW 2 . Originally the store was a surplus outlet . The store has been in the same location since 1956 . I started shopping there in 1978 . Now the original owners sons and grandchildren run the store but the old man still pops in everynow and then . I purchased about 80 % of my stash there . Also done a lot of shopping there on sporting goods . They carry a complete isle of models , mostly cars . A new guy working there has started ordering some good miltary stuff .

Anyway today hall ........

Dragon smart kit T19  105 mmm howitzer gun carriage #6496 , smart kit M16 multiple gun carriage (quad 50 cal ) #6381, Sdkfz 251/22 Ausf D (pak 40 on a half track )#6248 , Academy Merkava IV LIC #13227 , Academy U.S. Machine guns set #1384 and allied and German tank supplies set 1 # 1382........Yes............he he ........Toast....Embarrassed

I almost finished painting everything, just the base of the gun went unfinished.

Well depending on how Im feeling later on today I might get to paint some OD on the sherman.

Me and my parents were up most of the night hugging the toilet. Had to call into work and such. probably spend most of the day on the couch watching movies.

Hope everyone is feeling better else where!

WW2 - Good to hear your feeling better.  Sitting around watching movies all day doesn't sound that bad of a deal.

CARL - Thats a nice haul from the storeStick out tongue  Thats a lot of half-tracks.  Sounds like a nice little shop to go to.

LVT- filled in the front plate of the cab....all visor block locations holes and the MG mounting hole.  Should have been quick and easy but....the MG filling did not go well.  Had cut some styrene flat stock and glued in place, must have used to much glue because the piece of styrene and the surrounding area that it was glued to was turning to goo / melt.  Had to cut the styrene and surrounding area back out, cut new thicker flat stock and stuck it back into the already gooey hole, let dry completely.  After dry wiped some Squadron putty on and sanded all smooth.  All is well now.  Now cleaning track links.

WW2,,,,,,,,,,,    glad you're on the mend....        hopefully back at your bench soon     (no offense with the TMI of course)

Carl,,,  will certainly be looking for the finished jeep pics...    gotta say, if you put that kind of effort into the M4 (which I know you will).... it will also be stellar!          Nice that you had time to spend with the grandaugher too.            Things like that let you know what life is all about....   very nice indeed.     I will be posting some of my build  pics soon,,,  probably over the weekend.....

Enjoy the ride!

CARL - OOH Ya.  I too look forward to the jeep completion picsYes  Still playing games with the little one, Nice.

G - Looking forward to your start Beer

LVT tracks are going to take some time.  2 hours and this is what I have to show for it.

Friul tracks can be tedious at times but this set takes the cake!  There are two different types of links and fit rather funny.  Normal tracks take one long pin to hold them together but with this one there are two small pins each 3/32 long and they are a pain to get in from the middle of the link.

The plus side is that there is a guide that comes with the set.  Can see it in the above picture on the right.  You place the links into the guide to hold them and then say many bad words and the pin goes in.  Only 277 more links to go.

This is what was done last night.

Here's what i found missing . The hood is held closed with a spring loaded device and it was missing . I made mine from a strand of picture frame wire .

After folding the wire i filled in the gaps and made contours with super glue .

So far i have themmounted on the fenders and i globbed on some paint tonight .

I made the brsckets that these get hooked into on the hood .

And here's the windshield cleaned up a little so that the finger (hand) marks and wipper cleaned area show up better.

 Yes Beer

Rob , wow that must of been tediouse !
