Well, I gave up on the Friuls. I was able to order a set of the Model Victorias that Jack mentioned from a seller on another site. I should have them in about a week. Lots of inactivity on my part. Maybe I'll start another kit. Big Smile

TD, man that is looking so cool!  Luv all the detailing, but that full shot is such a teaser!!

Eric, sorry those Friuls didn't work out.  I'm interested in how my set will work for me.  I've put together some King Tiger Friuls, but those were huge compared to these tiny links!  I'm glad you were able to get those MV tracks; you know what they say about the third time......

Good for you Eric!   A happy marriage is definitely a joy to have!

Regarding the Zvezda M-13/40.....anyone have an opinion on the kit decals?  They look better than the usual Italeri decals, but marking options are limited to three:  Italian, German and Australian.  I definitely want to depict it as used by the Italian army.  I'm tempted to get a Model Victora decal set that I've been eyeing in eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180834803542?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Its kinda pricey at $17.00, especially just for the one kit I have, but if the kit decals are problematic I may have to splurge!

Well, I'm frugal Ernest. I wouldn't pay that much for a few decals. My Tamiya ones shattered and Panzerwaffe sent me Italeri decals. They went on very well and look great. I think you won't have any issues, just trim close if possible on the excess decals.

Ernest - If you plan on building more Italian armour, then go for it.  Otherwise I'd agree that it's pricey for some pretty simple decals.   The Zvezda kit is made from the  Italeri molds, but who knows where the decals were printed - they do seem to be identical to what the original kit offered.  If you anticipate problems, give the decals a clear coat beforehand.

By the way, this kit (as well as the Tamiya one) are really the M14/41.  So if you've got money burning in your pockets maybe consider the M13/40 upgrade kit.   Differences are pointed out in the Armorama review of the Zvezda kit

regards,

Jack

Feel very unproductive. Hopefully the tracks arrive in the next day or two. I have no idea what I'm getting into.
