Okay, I'm calling it done, it is now 9:19 PM on December 13th and I've got about 12 hours to spare.  She's definitely no masterpiece, but I'm actually quite impressed with myself for getting it done to look like this.  I've for sure had a lot worse final products.

Sorry about the poor picture quality, the only camera I have is my cell phone.  As you can see in the pictures, the main wheels are not even close to scale, they are super narrow.  But for a 48 hour build I think they'll have to do.

Well, I"m getting really close.  Not 100% happy with the job, but it is what it is.  I have to attach the wheels and the wheel doors.  Waiting for some parts to finish drying.  Hopefully the decals will set down some.  They were super old decals and had a weird film on them.

Didn't make as much progress at I had planned  today-not happy with the shade of green but it serves the purpose.

Also got some of the stowage painted-tomorrow's plan in to do some oil washes and dot filtering

Bob, I built that kit a coupe years ago, it is a good little kit, and as you said, great for paint/weather testing.

Jelliot, the hellcat looks like a winner so far, keep up the good work

Everyone is doing a great job on your builds-some quality work being demonstrated-none of them look like they were built under a time constraint.

Having said that:

6:30 pm CST Start

Tamiya T34/76 1943 1/35

My assistant:

Quitting for the night-plan on priming early am-need to work on some of the accessories that come with the kit to cover some of the holes, but overall, not a bad kit for a quick build.  This kit is destine to become my test mule for future weathering projects.

Go jelliot!  Grab that classic by the tail.  Look forward to more.

Well, its now 2:21 PM and this is where it sits right now.  There's definitely some fit issues and seams that I am going to have to deal with, shouldnt be too difficult.  This kit was designed to  have the wing mechanism actually fold the wings and display the wings down; however, because of the fit of the parts I'm eliminating those parts for this build.

Well it's been an hour, I've painted the interior of the cockpit and the prop and engine cowling.  I have to admit, this kit is lacking in a lot of areas, virtually no detail in the cockpit whatsoever.  Fortunately, the canopy will cover most of the stuff inside.  I've got the main wing section put together and am just waiting for stuff to set up and dry before moving on.

Cody, you can start on any day you like just finish within 48 hours of your start time.  I apologize for not answering sooner, but I could have sworn I responded when you first asked.  If I didn't say this before, welcome to the Madness!  Have fun and post lots of pics.

Josiah, great save on the 105!

Ajd, I look forward to your build.

Thanks for the kind words on the P-40 gents.

Went out to the hobby shop this morning and got some tubing, worked out pretty well but the barrel keeps slanting to the right so I keep pushing it to the left...hopefully it'll fully cure in the correct spot, haha.

Here it is done, finished a little more than 8 hours before the deadline. All in all I'm not 100% happy with this build. I missed some ejector marks in some obvious places that I just didn't catch until it was painted. Some other things that need to be cleaned up but I'm calling it done. I'll weather it and fix it up a little if I choose to put it on the DUKW i'm building for the '45 gb or make it stand alone with a nicer base.

And here's some nicer pictures...

Wow!  The third wave looks like its going strong!  If I have time on the weekend of 12/20-12/21 I just might give it another go!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words on the Panzerspahwagen!  This is my fourth straight year in the GB and I feel it was my best effort!  I'll grab the badge and wear it proudly!!

Josiah - Oooh!!  Sorry to hear about the melted barrel on the 105mm howitzer!Sad.  Was the problem the kit plastic?  Hopefully you can find another kit for the GB.

lewbud - NICE little P-40 there bud and an excellent 2nd build!  You guys are just pounding out these 1/72 wingie builds!!  I might have to try it myself sometime!  Oops Buffle!  Don't forget the lovely Sptifire you started out with (had to go back a few pages to catch that!!)

Eagle - Sweet looking Horton!  VERY futuristic looking and wicked cool camo on it!  Great job sir!

caveman - Not one, not two, but THREE builds completed in time!  That's some serious Madness for one weekend!  Fantastic work on them too, they look awesome!  Luv the different camo schemes!

Stik - Yo Carlos, I luv the U-Boat U-Built (hehe! lame attempt at snappy pun!).  Very nice to see a ship type kit in the GB.  I agree with Josiah, you are definitely a versatile modeler with builds in many genres.  Me....I stick to armor.  For now......Hmm

Beautiful work fellas!!  I'm sticking around to see the rest!!

Thank you!  Cute little kit.  Not for one who loves detail!

Thanks guys, Ernest, the kit plastic is pretty soft, I put some glue on the inside of the barrel too so that is probably what did it in...first time that's happened to me though. Quite frustrating
