Hey Steve, these decals look perfect! Good luck with the weathering, you're almost done now!

Your BOP is looking really nice! The decals went on great and the lights are excellent!

The aftermarket decals were very thin and delicate. I bought them from JT Graphics. It took forever to receive them but the price was right and they came straight from the only guy, I think, who prints them. Anyway, here is the weathering. I am still completing the base and battery switch compartment, but should be complete tomorrow night.
Sorry, I have seriously lost interest in this build since it took so long to get back to it between the move and the decal fiasco (that is just the way I am, I sway from genre to genre all the time. Drives my wife nuts.....and me.).
So here is what I have tonight.

That looks real nice!

I really like what you did with the stand.

Great job with a kit that threw you some curves!

She looks great Steve! I sometimes wonder about 'weather' in space but I love what you've done, big improvement on what would be a rather bland kit from the top. Like your planet base too. And the lighting is perfect.

Big kudos sir!!!

Thanks guys,

Gam, I weathered it because it atmospheric as well. Plus, it was boring without it.

Steve as I said I love how she turned out.

Guess I didn't express myself very well, weathering this model makes perfect sense. Wink

I hope you don't think I was offended my friend, on the contrary, I like it when members question my motives.
Sometimes I think this thing is a replica of an actual spacecraft when it only appeared in 1 episode of the entire Star Trek saga.

PS. I think the Bassard Collectors need to be greener. Oh well, no changing them now.

Offended? Good gosh no! I sometimes get my words twisted up, just making sure I came off the right way.

No idea about the Bussard Collectors, it's been years since I saw the episode. Guess there are plenty of photos online though. I'm thinking the ones in Star Trek Online are green but don't remember either, the game is set a couple years after DS9 and these relics are pretty much clay pidgeons for the player to shoot down Stick out tongue

Steve, she looks awesome in her 'natural environment'!

I've got to pick up one of these one day, kinda an embaressment that the Romulans are my favorite bad guys but I've never built this kit.

Thanks Gam,

Romulans are my favorite as well. I built the warbird some years ago, but couldn't get the green right. I'll have to try it again now that my skills have improved significantly, since I have been on the forums.

Sorry Mach71. Bones is about 95% done but I'm at the point I keep wondering if I want to repaint his hair or pants or something and keep putting off just finishing him up.

I'm on vacation now but I'll see about finishing him up before the end of the year.

Ok, I cemented Bones together last night. I'm still not totally happy with his hair so he's a little headless at the moment. Now I notice a smudge on his uniform just under Enterprise arrowhead, guess I put it there while painting the insignia, grumble. Hopefully I can get it fixed, finish the insignia, and get his hair done soonish...

Bones' shirt looks like a perfect match Gam. Good thing you posted something, the GB has slowed a bit, but that tends to happen throughout a year.

Nice looking headless Bones! :-)

I agree, the shirt looks spot on.

Thanks for the update.

The unfilmed sequel to 'Spock's Brain'- 'McCoy's Head'... Stick out tongue

Thanks guys! I forgot I still need to finish his medical bag that fits to the strap there. Not sure how to do it since it looks in the soft plastic like the one in the series or should I go ahead and paint it anyway. I dunno, I'm leaning to painting just because I learned as a kid you paint EVERYTHING.

Gamera,

What color did you use for the shirt?

Hey Beans, I think it's US Navy blue 5-N as best I can make out, there's paint splattered all over the bottle. Embarrassed

My bridge project update:

I painted the pannels as per the diections. I'm not happy with the color so I'm going to re-paint them primer grey this weekend.

The bridge upper deck deserves another coat to even out the color.

I'm happy with the turquoise shirts for Spock and McCoy.

I first tried a honey color for Kirk, Sulu and Chekov. It didn’t work out the way I wanted so I opted for a straight up yellow and called it a day. Now they look like bumble bees. Oy!

I'm not sure if I like the crimson on Uhura...

Happy with the chairs.

That's it for now. I'll have more after this weekend.

Agreed about Uhura, but everyone else looks spot on.

Looks good to me Beans! I'd suggest maybe mixing in some tan with the yellow for command gold assuming you haven't already done it?

Update:

Figures are done. Thanks for the painting tip Gamera! mixing the tan with the yellow toned down the command shirts.

I'm planning on finishing this week.

It's good for me that this group build goes until March 31 2016.

The end is near...

I should have more pictures up soon.

Sounds cool Beans. Same here, I was hoping to get a little more done with Bones but ended up watching the nephews play in the snow... Embarrassed
