It's time to catch up here!

Great looking Stuka, BrandonD.

Glad to see your Defiant, RobS; I have one too, and am looking forward to starting it now.

Very sharp Hurricane, rooster.  Nice work with the pastels.

Neat little 109, OWL; colors are eye-catching.

Dan, very effective treatment of the Sptifire camouflage;very good.

Really did well with the Hurricane, Scott.

Steve, that is one petite Heinkel.  Nice touch to have it in flight.

Good work on the cockpit, moose.  Coming along great.

Looks great Steve! Painting the framing for the nose would have driven me nuts! Let me know which pic you would like for the front page. Keep at it peeps!

I'm done. The 1/144 He 111 KG55 is in night markings and shown in flight mode.
Thank you for hosting this GB Lewbud, it was fun.

Kim and Steve, your builds are looking great! Keep at it! I've kind of neglected my 110. I found out I was out of 65 for the undersides and that's where she sits for the moment. After seeing the new Do-217Z, I was underwhelmed by the lack of cockpit detail in the 110. However, it looks like a 110, and will look good on the shelf when she's done.

I finally received the paint this weekend and painted the 111. I just installed the front and upper canopies with some Elmer’s and will hand paint the frame tomorrow and install the decals.

Scott,

Those came out great! Nice pair of RAF birds to put up against the Luftwaffe. They really do look nice next to each other.

It makes a nice compliment to my Spitfire.  Thanks Lew for hosting this GB.  The BoB is a very interesting subject to model after.

Well, I did it, I finished another model.  Here is the new tooled Airfix 1/72 Huricane that I attempted to look somewhat presentable.

Scott and Dan, your builds are looking great! Keep up the good work. Steve, Kim, et al., the build officially ends on 18 Dec. You've still got time.

Sorry Guys, I am way behind on this GB.  Between completing a build for a friend and his father-in-law and a new job.  Has me way behind.  I will get pictures up tonight.  I have the pit done and started to join the fuselage together.

I am still going to finish this build and will not just rush through just to get it in on time.  I want to do a job that I am happy with.  Just a reminder to all I am building a Bf 109 E-4.  Though I might do a different plane other than Gallands bird.  Namely is eveyone builds his.  I like to build odd ball things. So I am going with Ofw. Fritz Beecks bird.  It looks cool and I really like the markings.  Also the camo shouldn't be to overly difficult to paint.

Sorry lewbud, I'm awaiting paint from Taiwan for the He 111 and to date I still haven't received them. As soon as I get them in I'll complete the build.

Nice Spit there Dantheman. I will hope my decals wont be too thick. The molded detail is pretty light on this model.

I'm on the finishing leg.  Start touching up, decal, some light weathering, final coat, and she may be a wrap.  Hope to finish today since I have the the day to myself.

CallSignOWL: Nice job on completing your 109, this looks like the Tamiya kit? Built one years ago, it went together very well.

Modelcrazy: Your He-111 is looking good. I've tried two times on building the Revell 1/48 version, for one reason for another couldn't finish them. Picked up a third one so hopefully I can complete one. And great B&W photos of the He 111.

Scottrc: Nice painting on your wheel wells and insides, and your two ton camouflage.

I'm finally on the decal stage for my Spitfire Mk. II, the Airfix decals are a little thicker than I'm used to, but the model master solvent is working on getting them to conform great. Worked on the top side yesterday and today, I'll start the under side Tuesday. My other Spit needed a little more touch up with the airbrush, so that will set it back a few days. Don't think I'll have time to get the Lancaster started before the group build is over, it has around 200 parts. Oh and I'm happy the free hand camouflage I did on the Mk II., first time I've done that.

This is the first time I am using Vellejo acrylics and am finding that I really like them.  Both the undercarraige and the top green are Vellejo and the brown is Moldel Master enamel.  MM is so much harder to work with and clean.  Not to mention my Paasche never liked enamels.

Did my painting this week.  Man, I got to get a new camera, and one with manual settings.  My old digital just is not doing it anymore.  This is the brown coat and beleive me, its much lighter than the picture shows.

Ladies and gentlemen, apologies for taking so long but the front page is finally updated!

Does anyone know what happened to ajd? Did he finish his 109?  Maybe I'll duck on over to the 109GB and see if he's posted there.

Modelcrazy, that 111 is the bee's knees.  Can't wait to see it done.

An update on my 110, she looks like an airplane now. Got the RLM70 and 71 on yesterday, but discovered I was out of 65 for the underside.  Pics to follow later.  Keep up the good work folks!

Here are the pictures of the He 111 I promised. I took them 20 years ago with B&W film for effect.

Thanks, I had to order RLM 70 and RLM 72 to complete the motif though. If I had more time I'll love to build my 1/72 111. I really love the look of that plane. I actually saw the bird that they used in the 1969 "Battle of Britain" movie. Got to go inside and take some shots. I have a cool shot of the IP and a collage of different outside and inside shots hanging on my hobby room wall. I'll have to take a shot of those and show them off.

OK Lewbud, back to your GB.
I'm going to display my He 111 in flight mode, so after some serious gap filling I finally got to the paint part. Reserching KG 55 during the Battle of Brittin, it seems that some of the ships had an underside that was painted in a temporary dull black for night operations with toned down crosses. Sooo that's what I'm doing.
