Johnny: For such an old kit it looks like you are making it shape up nicely. BTW, love the nose colors!

Gamera: That ...............fits! Looks like you've tied it all together with those additions! As I said earlier regarding armor..............there aint no way, no way I'll takle  a project like that anytime soon. It would be sensory overload for me.

Everybody: I'm back to work on the Arado instrument panel , which is a small kit in itself!! Will be posting pics soon.

TJ: Some really nice work there on the double-stang. The NM looks great and I too love those cool nose markings. 

And thanks guys! That does help confirm that I'm on the right track. Gosh it's annoying to keep staring at something and thinking it needs something but you're not sure what on earth it would be- I guess 'real' artists get the same attitude at times.

Bish: Great detail paint on your figures, that's a area that I'm slowly improving on. Diorama is coming along great, those looks like real bricks in the street.

Thanks Johnny: I did break of two antennas, there easily glued back on with CA glue. The ones in the front have come flex to them. Nice work & paint job on the twin Mustangs.

Gamera: Diorama is lookin' great.

Finished up airbrushing RLM 02 on the main landing gear & the intake next to it. I used model master #2071, in two light coats. Again I airbrushed at 10 PSI to minimize the over spray. Can't say it enough how the balsa wood stand on the turntable makes airbrushing so much easier and quicker.

This morning I removed the mask's and only had to spots in the flat black area peal up.

You can also see the RLM 83 blotches on the tail and rear fuselage. All that's left is touch ups with the airbrush.

Nice job on the masking and the paint job looks good. For years i have been menaing to make myself a painting stand but never get around to it. I really must make that a priority.

@Gamera: No, I haven't got any more done, and sorry for taking two weeks to respond! Like I said, I'm really busy now...I wish I had time to work on the kit, but I don't  Chances are I won't get enough time this year to finish the kit. I really should have taken advantage of the summer.... 

@DanTheMan: The torii gate looks great, and I love the 110's scheme! German camo is always the best. 

@Everybody: Great job on your respective projects! And whatever happened to that Maus?

I hope your able to get some work in on that soon Moff.

I was woundering about the maus, haven't seen tates around in a while.

Dan: Man that paint job is looking good so far.

Everybody: Got the side walls installed and the IP painted and slightly weathered. Just gotta pick out some details, do some touch up and fade the entire IP a little bit and we're good to go it looks like.

Dan: She's coming along great there!

Moff: Oh, no worries. It's just despite you not being happy with how some of her was coming out I thought she really looked cool. You did some really nice work on detailing the spades. I hope even if you can't finish here you'll post in the armour forum to your WiP there.

Joe, thats really impressive. Love the dedication and attention to detail your putting into this. makes me realise i am going to have to go that bit further than normal when i get to one of the 72nd ones.

Dan: That paint work on your 110 camo is absolutely fantastic. Very sharp and clean. I like your method for painting the gear bays. You don't see that every day and appears to be right effective. Nice, Very nice.

Joe: You certainly are up to your usual awesome methods of detailing. The cockpit is looking tremendous. 

@Gamera: yes, that's a possibility. I'll have to see though. The build really lost all it's inertia. 

Ok, time to get this beast wrapped up. I have had the base finished for a few days but have been leaving it all to dry and making sure i have not missed anything.

Before the final pics, heres a few of the completed base. I didn't want to go to over board with the rubble. I wanted a damaged single house rather than a flattened street. I started out with some celluclay to give some bulk to the rubble and give me somthing to attach other bits with. I mixed in some fine pumice with the celluclay and even where it shows throug i rather like the effect. For the rest of the rubble, i got a couple of pots of Urban Debris from Dio Dump in the Netherlands which included bricks with mortar, fine rubble dust, dusty planks and load sof other bits. To this i added lots more lose bricks, stained wood and some left overs from the window frames and skirting boards.

I was realy pleased with the end result, especially for my first urban dio. Sorry about the pics. My pop up photo booth is not really designed to handle stuff this big. I am in the process of converting a spare bedroom into a dedicated model den and hopefully i can set up a better photo area. If so, i may take some new pics then.

And then just to add the big guy himself. I used some rubble pigments on the running gear as well as on the figures to tie them in with the base.

Convention would probably have this build side on, with the house behind the vehicle. But very early on i decided i wanted this head on. Before i added the side framing, which is determined by where the front is, i did some checking on the layout, and yep, definatly front on.

And there it is. Really pleased with how this turned out. As always, some lessons learned and ideas for improvment next time round.

Thanks for all the comments and ideas. I am really pleased with the camo uniforms, the black is a nice addition, so a big thanks to Jack for that. Now i just need some where to put this, i think i might need a reinforced shelf, this thing is damn heavy.

Bish, that is some serious rubble there.  Even without the vehicle, the scene looks very eye catching.  Extremely well done, congrats!

That is an impressive dio from the bench of Bish. I mean, that is really spectacular. You have certainly upped your game in that depart ment and it is showing with gusto. Great work Boss.

I already told you how great everything looked individually but together the dio is way more than the sum of it's already impressive parts. Hopefully I'll be doing some urban dios in the future and I expect I'll be studying your work here for an idea on how to do mine. And I love the front-on angle. The photo with the troops standing in front of that gigantic 128mm gun is outstanding- my favorite in a set of great all around photos. Knock-out job my friend!!!

TJ: That is wierd, at least it's just the spinner. Hopefully it won't be too much work to fix.

BTW: I think I'm done here too. I scratchbuilt a new katana for the senior officer since I still can't find the kit one. Went back and redid the geisha's face. It still bothers me a little, seems a little hard not to get the pop-eyed look on a white face. Anyway, we got a pile of rain and wind from the outskirts of hurricane Matthew so I wasn't able to get any photos outside, hopefully I'll be able to get them later this week. Just feel very lucky that's all we got from the hurricane.

G, i like that one and thats why i wanted the head on display. Lookin dow the barrel of that gun and with the troops in front, it really shows the size of this.

Just finished up the last of the painting, main landing gear doors, wheels, rear gear and exhaust’s are now on. Had to just about grind the exhaust's to get them to fit into the slot opening. The instructions did not say but is used Tamiya clear red and clear blue on the wing tips, for marker lights. This morning I airbrushed on model master acrylic gloss clear on the top sections, later I'll do the same on the bottom. Then Thursday is time for decals.
