No probs Bish, and that's cool to see another Canadian connection in this GB.

-------------------

Some specifics with the painting, it's believed the crosses and swastikas were painted over with British Sky, while the initials 'JFE' were done with roundel blue colour.

regards,

Jack

Jack you are the best! That's some great info. Could you send me a link to that webpage or is that from a book?

Hi  Andy, glad to be of some help ... yes the image is from a book (that I also have), but the link was found at this British forum:

http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235013758-stocky-edwards-fw190/

The author has just the one page dedicated to the subject,  identifying the airframe as an 190 F-8, perhaps due to it's Wk.Nr.?   Note too that bomb rack, external cannon barrels and radio aerial are missing in the photo.

It sported the standard Luftwaffe finish 74/75/76, with no other tactical markings on the fuselage.  Speculation has it as part of an experimentation unit, but the machine itself is not showing much wear, with the prop and engine cowl still having a fresh appearance.

regards,

Jack

These are just the main decals.  I still have to apply the stencils.

Lol. No problem, Bossman! Life Lesson #53....If you are Jerry Mathers doppelganger at age 7, do not let your girlfriend "steal" your school pictures and show them to all of your friends or you might get stuck with the nickname Beav. After 30 years I've grown to like it. ....BTW...I'm from a large family of Scottish descent so we can't all be called "Mac"...LOL.

Jack, i agree, that does lok very clean. Looking at the areas that had been over painted, i would say it had only carried the national markings before capture, one might almost think this was taken straight from the factory.

Will make for an interesting build.

Almost the home stretch now, Toshi!  Looking good!

Last night I started working with the photoetched propblur propellers...let me tell you...holy crap are they figety!  The points at which they were attached to the fret were so small, even with my 2.5x optivisor in place, I could barely see them!

The props come with two types of blades...individual blades, I assume, that can be installed over top of the original prop, and three blades mounted to a central hub.  I chose the latter, which required me to clip off the plastic blades...

Lancaster dambusters build...propblur propellers assembly by Justin Ryan, on Flickr

I left one blade on for a handle...

They are attached to the hub with a drop of superglue and a spritz of accelerator.

Here is all four props finished assembly, I sprayed a coat of high temp enamel  (it's the only satin black I had available) last night, but did not get any photos yet.  As you can see just past the finished props, the props also came with a pair of 1/72 scale photoetched bicycles!   I think one of them might look fantastic leaned up against a 1/72 Sopwith Camel I built just after the holidays.....

Justin, thanks for the WIP pics on the PE blur props, per my demand ....errrr, ....request.

Please keep 'em coming and do get the camera working so we can see how you paint the things. Keeping one styrene prop as a handle was a clever idea!

Toshi, decals are really dressing up your Mosquito. You know you gotta do those stencils......

Beav, aye, I was sincere too. That said, I sure got a kick out of Chris' Beav and Wally post because I have to admit I think of the same every time I see your screen name. Geeked

I do believe I can call this done.  This kit is highly recommended. A few minor gripes but overall this kit is a winner.

The Harrier looks great TJ. I love the way you did the camo. I try to stay away from schemes like that but will have to give the Blue Tack a try.

I like the Tonka Saint.  That should be interesting.

Johnny, your Harrier looks just great. It was fun to watch it go together, and you've moved me one step closer to trying a contemporary jet, if not a Harrier.

Looking forward to the Tornado. I really like that scheme (never saw it before), and it will be a timely tribute to Sir Roger too.
