That 262 is a beautiful build.  Did your SS right proud, as well as yourself.

A lot of members here turn into special friends that go the extra 20 miles for another.

Awesome work everyone.  That 262 is beautiful!  Very inspiring!

Well, the 109 is pretty much done.  But I am holding out on any pics.  I have ordered some wooden plaques and I want to really do something for this build.  It has been such a joy to build and she turned out brilliantly!  I'm thinking of someting simple but will help add to the desert version.  Sand obviously, maybe a rock or two, and I pulled a German pilot out of the Hasegawa WWII pilot box and will do him up in a tan uniform.  I think it will add just a bit to it.

Again, great work evereyone!

Impressive work on that Mig!

Now that we had some warm days with no wind, we finally got to use the spray cans, and affix the subassembles.

Just decals, some small bits, and weathering left.  The finish line is in sight!

Okay, so I have to fess up that I just haven't been working on this kit hardly at all. Well, let's be honest. I haven't been working on any kit hardly at all. Since this virus crap has started I've had a very hard time sitting at the bench. I find myself withdrawing to my office and putting on my headphones and cranking Itunes far louder than I should, but it helps force the world out. It seems to help. I have managed to get some work done here and there and I am making progress on the Dicker Max.

I am quickly nearing the point where I must start painting. Although I have it assembled in the larger pieces in the pics, it is still the hull, lower turret, upper turret and inner subassemblies still all seperate. I will have to paint them individually then assmeble the larger sections and then paint the overall. Due to the open turret this is creating some challanges in painting, but I will get it handled.

I had hoped that this forced time off would give me the motivation to really hit it hard, but it appears the opposite is the reality. Head up and carry on.

Thanks guys.

I'm glad the Max is going well Brandon.  I hear you about staying focused, some days with the Leopard I'll unpack everything sit at the table for 3 hours and only have had two or three parts clipped, cleaned, and glued.

Rock on BK, the Max is looking good. I don't ahve any proble working on stuff although putting a TV in my war room may have been a issue. I'll watch some show or YouTube vid and in a few hours I'll just have a few parts assembled. It makes it hard when I have several sheets of minute PE to install on a ship. I need to just go to music or radio.

I'll put on Netflix and run a show (Right now my 35th run through of The Office) as ambience.  Something going on in the background but not something I have to pay attention to.  Used to listen to sports radio but there hasn't been too much of that lately.

II have three jerry cans that go on the back of the Leopard's turret, of two different types, one has 3 bars for a handle at the top, the other two have one handle.  From what I can tell, the first is a steel can and the latter two are plastic.  I assume fuel goes in steel and water in the plastic ones?  Are these colored differently or are all jerry cans an OD green regardless of what they contain now?

The pictures I see on vehicles all look like they have OD cans, but aren't there tan ones as well for the desert theaters?  I think these may be a little more aesthetically pleasing to break up the monotony of the NATO Green.

The contents of the cans sound correct Robert, but I honestly have no idea. I'm not an armor guy so I can't help with the color either. I'm not help here.

If BK does the "out of your comfort zone" Secert Santa this year. then armor could possably be my gift Huh?

I'll tell you Steve, I was scared as you know what to start armor. I don't regret it one bit, I absolutely LOVE the armor kits. They are very fun to build. I am hooked and have a decent stash already just in those. You won't be sorry to get into it.

From what I have been able to gather from the internet search and a thread here, is that they would be multiple colors and in any condition, from new to worn and rusty. They were used over and over and all over the army in service. So, you can paint them just about any modern German colors and weather them to taste and you wouldn't be wrong.

Awesome work!  Great builds!

I finally got the plaques in from Hobby Lobby!  I've been working on just a small easy base for the 109.  I should have pics today!

Alright! I got the pics!  Again, this was an excellent kit!  No issues to speak of.  A joyful build to say the least.

Now the base is no where near as good as a Bish base, but it will do for my first one.  I know the colors are probably wrong for the sand but it was all I had on hand and I'm sure the uniform for the pilot is totally wrong, but I have no pilots wearing shorts.  LOL!

Over all a wonderful kit and I had a blast building it.  Thank you so much to my secret Santa!!  You rock!  Thanks to Bish for the pic of the 109 with the umbrella.  It really helped!  So enjoy everyone!

Thank you sir.  What was funny is at first glance when I opened the kit, I didn't know what the heck it was.  LOL!  Then I thought...Brilliant!  Then Bish found a pic with the 109 and the umbrella.  Had to be done then.  LOL!

After two weeks of decaling I sprayed the clear coat and this happened:

Time to strip down to the plastic do it all over again. This time I will mask and paint instead of using the decals.
