Well, I read through the old threads for prior GBB's and MAN O MAN Thank you for the link to Tanxheaven! S-u-a-weeeeet. Some very inspiring stuff there. Anyway, I have been lulled into doing "some" scratch-build interior for this tiger soooooooo it may make it, it may be replaced with a Panther a early. Both kits I am using one kind or another PE kit with BUT, there are just so many other things that belong in these baddies.....
One thing I have noticed, and I have to say I like the queslity so far, is that The Tank Workshop has some real nice engines, intakes and whatnot for the tiger1, 2 and panther and panzers. Pretty reasonable prices too I think.
I am also (ha ha ha ) currently working on a dio that involves a Hummel, a Grille some gents reloading and passing out ammo and whatnot and a Sd.Kfz.11 Eihleitsfahrerhaus Late Version delivering the goods. That one has been getting attention on and off over the last two years. I suppose it will be done in another year or two...man....
Anyway, the Tiger and Panther are gttting the bulk of the attention. If I think I can put the guts into the Kingtiger in time, that one will be it.
Anyhow, that is my story and I am sticking to it!!

OK, that will work. How do I go about posting pics? I have a digital and want input as I go along, so, how do I do that? Also, WHICH kit would be the best to use for an accurate representation for a Vietnam era M60 and M48?
Thanx

Hello guys!

I am sorrey to announce that I'll have to bail on this group-build.
I am very sorrey, and ashamed, to do so, but I have been so much busy with the life beyond modelling. you know the real ones...
I havent moved an inch on my promised KT, other than finding a good photo, And I dont think I will make it in time, as the dead-line approaches...

I'm sorrey to bail on you guys, save me a GB with german armour for the next time.Sad [:(]

I will be keep an eye on you jobs, so good luck to verey one!

I believe when DDay started it, he had it to February. He has since gone MIA and I kind of took over running it. Personally, I am up to my eyeballs in group builds, so I just made it a 6 month build to give everyone more time. Hope you can find some time (coming from someone who knows that time is really hard to come by!!)

I haven’t forgotten that I’m part of this group build. I have not had much time to build lately but made time today. Not much to look at but here’s a progress picture of my 1/24 scale Jeep.

THAT REALLY SUX..... oh well....JWEST is doing a great job....
i couldnt get into modeling lately....i dont know why.....but i painted, weathered, and put snow on the wheels..then put allittle more snow on the panther itself.... im constantly putting more and more snow on the ground cuz i kinda feel that it is too thin....the tree is...where it was 2 weeks ago...got more branches but i didnt put them on...yet. i painted the commander figure..and put a quilt around him so he is ready for the winter..
i have a dilema though... Should i patch the holes in the bottom of the tank??? (tamiya kit)

I wouldnt worry about the holes. Unless your tank is going over an embankment or something, you wont be able to see under it.

Well, now that my Old Guns GB is done, this is my next main priority.... The M16 AA is done and my Willys is at the stage where I add the headlights and the windshield but lo and behold, the clear plastic sprue has gone MIA and Tamiya wants 9 bucks to send another one.... Heck, I can get the whole kit for just about 12, so I guess I am going to have to restart the Willy's. 4 of 12 figures are done and I am still in search of the "perfect tree" .................. Geez, this is soooooooo much fun.

valium, anyone?

dday crashed in September and still isn't up? I wondered where he went. Double D, I wouldn't worry about the holes unless they are visible. IF they are, put some sheet styrene on the inside to cover them, then from the outside, you can either fill it eith putty or cut some more sheet styrene in to strips and glue them in the holes, then putty. Best part is the underside of tanks are always muddy, so you can just plug the holes and cover it all with mud. Easy! Geoff, if you ever find the perfect tree, let me know. I am believing you have a better chance of finding Elvis skiing with Bigfoot, though

Well, if you find some, let me know what they are. I hope you got your merit badge in weed identification.

just wakin you guys up! i got a lot done.... added another layer of snow!!! (like 5 already!) tow cables on (i lit my candle and after 5 minutes the candle started fizzing and just went out? what happened??? anyone know?) added: antenna, a two person saw, some firewood, a blanket, i should add another blanket, some panzerfausts, and more branches onto the tree.....
i have a question though.... my tree has a lot of branches...but they are pretty thick! do you guys think i should add smaller ones? if so where can i get them???

Deffinetly add more blankets, Tanks seem to have a lot of them, especially for the winter.

I saw some woodland scenic winter trees that look pretty convincing...... Tired of looking for the perfect tree, I may break down and get them this weekend..... That and finishing up my American GI's and you can stick a fork in me... (not literally, please)

Any pics of those woodland scenic trees, Geoff?

Double D- how to add smaller branches depends on what type of try. Pines, you can make small boughs by spraying some glycerine on Florist ferns and trim them as needed. For deciduous trees, you might want to go browsing at Michaels in their dried flower section. They have some stuff that if you trim off the dried flower tips, look like branches. Just drill a small hole where you want them with a pin vise and stick em in with some glue
