Grant,
Book's doin terrible. Lost a chunk of what I wrote overnight because my dad's laptop crapped out on me. Want to take an axe to it. Other than that, its doing ok. Only lost about 10 pages of stuff, and most can be rewritten. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed. Gonna look on ebay now and see if I can find a 1/32 A-10 to get.

I feel better.... I'm taking the "what if" to heart. I just got the Trump 1/32 A-10 N/AW kit!
Two crewmembers with IHADSS helmets, a butt-load of hellfires and good 'ol UNITED STATES ARMY on the side of a Helo Drab bird...

... and there are 150 A-10s just SITTING in storage at D-M.

The Trump 1/32 A-10 N/AW looks to be a Very Cool Kit Cool [8D] ... can't wait to see what you come up with
This is turning into a pretty cool & Unique Group Build (as far as I can tellWink [;)] )

Mean while I will just have to get along with my 1/72 kits ( I am currently Thinking of Combining a couple 1/72 kits to insure a good mix of weapons)

I'm doing the same thing, in 1/48, I've got 2 Hasegawa weapons sets to mix-n-match, and instead of the Pave Spike, I've got an AN/AAQ-14 that looks more like a TRAM with less work. I'm thinking about taking the Rockeyes from my A-6 and putting them on the MERs and maybe putting some small LGBs (250lbs?) on the TERs instead of the Mavericks that came with the kit. So many choices...

I've got to get down to Atlanta soon and pick up some weapons sets. I dropped $23 with TwoBobs on RAF decals so I'm committed to the GR.1, but if I can find that second Hawg kit around here, I'll probably finish it as a USMC CAS one.

Do you meen the all gloss-black "Playboy"-Hog ? The problem is that a hog has absoltely no space to host a round (really big) 5-person bed, a juccuzi and a well filled bar Big Smile [:D]

On the bench : Revell's 1/125 RV Calypso

Got started on the Peruvian A-10P today. It will be in Grupo Aereo No.7 markings. Replaced the A-37B's of that unit with similar camo scheme. That makes 2 Peru Air Force birds I'm building.Shy [8)] I got a Hind in process for the Attack Helo GB. - Calvin

Sounds like we're going to have some unique birds to show off at the end of this build. Can't wait to see some of these schemes.

Well, this week I'll convert my at-home office back into a work area for my kits and get my builds back on track!

Call it community curiosity or whatever... I'm puting together a playlist on iTunes to listen to while I work on my Hawg... Any suggestions? What music do ya'll listen to when building?

Grant,

I listen to some pretty obscure stuff. Been playing the life out of my new Lacuna Coil CD. Great stuff, but definitely not mainstream. I've usually got internet radio on while I'm building, since my workspace is right next to my computer, and its usually blasting 99.9 "the electric front".

Anyone else?

Boy, can you say "Flash City" on this old 1/72 Mono A-10Angry [:(!] I'll have enough left over plastic to build the A-37! Shock [:O] Laugh [(-D] - Calvin

I usually have ESPN's Sportcenter on the TV in the background while I build, or I'll throw a movie in the DVD player. I don't know why I don't listen to music as much as I used to.

I don't think I've got as much flash on this Hobbycraft A-10 as that Monogram one, lodni_k, but I had to laugh at the "detailed cockpit" as described on the box...

yes, it is a very nice badge! Thanks for that! I've now started on my 1/144 A-10. It's the LS kit. Not too bad though the fit is not as good as it is on Revell's 1/144 little jewels.. But I'll survive. I've got a civilian (yes! Civilian!) A-10 in mind, and it will require a little bit of extra work but I think it will look quite good...

Well, I started on my Thunderbolt last night and I'm going to Atlanta today, hopefully I'll have time to go by a couple of LHS and get some bombs!

I cut the instrument panel off the sprue to start detailing it, since I've been in a scratchbuilding mood lately, just have to decide if I want to use the kit part or make my own. I'm planning on drilling out some dials and adding some multi-function displays and other little do-dads to give it some details. I'll post some before/after pics of what I get done today while I watch the playoff games.

I'm really itching to get going on this one, but I'm making myself finish a couple of projects that have been sitting on the bench too long.

LemonJello,

Have you seen the latest issue of Air Forces Monthly? There is a 2 page spread on the A-10C upgrades that has a good shot of the new panel with MFDs.

Wow, I was getting a little confused until I realized that the link from that blog was for a game! The info on the blog, however, is correct and it sounds like the A-10 is finally getting a long overdue upgrade.

Well, Atlanta trip got scratched at the last minute. Oh well, I can always order online if need be. Didn't need the weapons yet anyway.

Since mine will be an RAF aircraft, it'll have to use the probe method of A/A refueling. I can't fine any old ones in my spares (remember the old Monogram Harriers? Either the AV-8A's or B's would work) and my scratchbuilding skills aren't there yet. Does anyone know of any aftermarket refueling probes?
