Sounds good Duke, can't wait to see some pics. My update is that I haven't got one!! Haven't started any kit yet. Have the Corsair to build and am still awaiting delivery of the Intruder. Will be on vacation from Thursday to Monday so will probably start when I get back.

Well, my Hornet is going to be an 'in-flight' model, so the pilot is going in, the air brake is closed and the wheel bays have been closed up. The intakes for the engines are on, the insides have been blanked off and given a coat of flat black. I'm busy busy. Big Smile [:D]
Cheers,
John

Sounds good John,

You could always have the airbrake open as they use this to slow down in-flight also not just for landing. Everyone's way ahead of me!!

I have just recently started building Italeri's F-5 Freedom Fighter in 1/72 scale. I plan to do it up as a Canadian CF-5A, but Im not sure of the paint scheme yet. If this is alright, let me know.

Mark, it's up to the starter of this Group Build, but as long as you have it loaded out with bombs and/or rockets, I don't think it would be a problem. Go for it.

I haven't started anything yet either so don't feel bad Dan. Ialso have a Corsair I may start, as well as an FB111, but for right now, I'm staying with my French Skyraider and two Tornados.

Maybe this weekend I'll be able to start.....

Thats good to hear. Thank you.

Here is a progress pic that I took last week. I have moved along considerably since then. This aircraft now has wings, a tail plane and a green and grey paint scheme. Still alittle ways to go yet...

Bummer!! I'm in university now and have to commute approx. 2 hours across the city via train and bus to get there!! Disapprove [V] Monday to Friday too! So my Hornet has sort of ground to a halt. I'll try to get some work done on the weekend, I promise!

Ga.modler: yeah the Hasegawa Hornet kits are great, aren't they? A joy to build, if a little underdetailed, but I guess that's 1/72 for you.

Cheers,
John

Hi guys, I hate to do this but I am overcommitted to group builds and would like to pull out of this one (need to learn to pace myselfAshamed [*^_^*]). You've got a good group of modern builds going on and I'll definitely be watching from the sidelines.

Nice work John. Was it my imagination or were there Games Workshop figures in the background?

well, here's my progress so far:
i've opened the box 4 the Roden Fokker D.Vii, looked inside &
read the instructions... looks like i'll b doing a bit of parts cleanup
here & there, but on the whole it looks like a pretty decent kit.
i have been looking thru the "Fokker D.Vii In Action" book 4 an
appropriate paint scheme 4 a mid-production OAW-built D.Vii,
& will probably get a basecoat on at some point over the weekend.
good luck w/ ur builds, folks !

well ladies and gents i got a couple of pics for you. but i also have a major snauf. while i was out today with my sister getting things for my turkey addiction. it seem that my nieces pug puppy has helped herself to another model of mine. the frist one was a md 530g gunship for the attack helo group build and now she has made a snack on my F-18E for the attack group build. thier is no way i can salavge this model at all. what really hurts with this one i was at the point of putting on the decals tonight and now its back to square one. but thier is a bright side i do have in waiting a F-18 e/f to build for the group
and now the guilty party of this eventEvil [}:)]Evil [}:)]

Ga.modler: hehehe every cloud really DOES have a silver lining then, doesn't it?

Dan1677: Whistling [:-^] hmm?? Me? GW? Of course not!!! .......yeah ok they are. They're Warhammer 40,000 Chaos Space Marines. I've only got a small army atm, but I'm working on it.

Cheers,
John

Ga.Modeler, are you sure you can't salvage that? It looks like a fairly simple repair job, unless the fuzziness of the pics is hiding more damage. Still, I'd think that some work could possibly restore that to some measure of completeness.

Anyway, it is a good thing you've got a backup kit! I'll be getting more pics of my progress posted a bit later.

Hey all! I finally managed to get some time to take a pic of my progress.

I'm building the French A-1 Skyraider, which comes in natural metal finish! I knew there was a reason I was holding off on building this! Oh well, I got it started, and this is the result:

As you can see, I have the whole fuselage and wing assemblies done, and mounted the landing gear. She's sporting a brushed on coat of Polly S Flat Aluminum right now. I'll be touching up the basecoat later with a thicker coat. I'm brushing this on because the last time I tried to airbrush it, I couldn't get it to work. I'm also out of silver in the rattle can, so I have no other choice right now.

I should be able to get more done tomorrow. I'll post pics when I can.

Nice to see such great progress frostygirl! I can't wait to see pics.

Thank you for the comment about the NMF. It takes some doing, but I've figured out that if you thin the paint a bit, and use a very fine-bristled soft brush and a light touch, you can get pretty good results. It takes a bit of practice though to get it right, and I'm still not all that good.

Anyway, onward and upward!
