If this GB still open.  I would like to join.  I'm about to finish my F-15 for the F-15 group build and looking for another GB to join.   I primered all my parts last night and going to work on the cockpit this evening.  I will post what version I am building later tonight.

Put me down for this GB too.

I haven't got my kit yet, but I'll probably do a Hasegawa 1:48 F-16C

I really liked Anthony14's idea with the original Viper patch.

I was originally just going to clean up the text, but I ended up creating
a variation of his design.  What do you guys think?  To me, it almost
looks like it's made from real threads!

I'm really looking forward to the group build; my first.

This would be an awesome paint scheme to see on a model:

http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item34303.html

Or if somebody was really good they could pain this scheme

http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item34414.html

There is probably no way anybody could paint the second scheme.

I'm thinking about painting one of my F-104 and one of my F-16 is the exact same color scheme sense the F-16 replaced the F-104 in the NATO fighter Role.

Cool, you could paint the second, but the way I see it you would have to use decals for the stars, other than that, it's all masking.

btw, I plan on doing mine in Greek - Hellenic markings...

I'm not that good at painting models, and besides I don't even own an airbrush.

Oh ic, well, even without a AB, it would still be possable because it's stright masking, you could use spray can of brush a few coats on.

I would strongly recommend getting a AB, I own a Badger 155 Anthem - dual action and I love it! Picked it up cheap too off ebay.

EDIT: To be more exact with what I am doing for my F-16, take a look at this picture...

And theres a few more on www.f-16.net

Put me down as undecided. I've recently been on a roll with modern aircraft, so this will keep the ball moving.

Wow, you gents are making some really fancy Vipers.
That's way beyond my capabilities to do those schemes.
I'm sure they will look very nice when completed.

Mine will be the typical grayscale variety // Hill AFB 388th FW
Hasegawa 1:48 F-16C, probably with a strike loadout

Is everyone in favor of this patch?:

If so, then I'll be glad to host the image for you all.  The location:

BTW, here is a neat source for paint scheme ideas:

I like the camouflage aggressor schemes.

Hey Guys,

These are two of the three I'm building.  Undecided right now on the third's paint scheme.

F-16B, Lockheed Technology Demonstrator

F-16C Block 30, NY ANG

Any suggestions for a Block 40?

what about the size?  Is 120 x 120 too big?
I guess I could upload several sizes and let
people choose which size they like best.

I went ahead and made three different sizes of the badge so that
people
could chose the one that fits their signature the best:

80 x 80 pixels

100 x 100 pixels

120 x 120 pixels

locations, respectively:

Take your pick :)

I've been doing a little bit of homework on the paints
that I will need for this project, and I thought I could
share what I've found so far for, incase others are
building the standard graytoned F-16's.

The FS numbers were found at this website:
http://www.101airbase.com/026/F-16C%20138th%20FW%20Oklahoma.htm

Most of the F-16's seem to use the three gray colors,
but some use a fourth color underneath that is actually a
pale blue.  I'd like to find spray cans for all of the grays,
but so far I've only found Gunship Gray in a can.  I don't
have a very good airbrush yet, or the experience to operate
one well for that matter, so this may become my golden
opportunity to learn!

You can get a resin cockpit from Black Box for the F-16A.
I ordered an Black Box F-16C cockpit from Squadron.

Here's a webpage with photos:
http://s96920072.onlinehome.us/ISL/black%20box/32001-32005/32002_F16A/isl_bb32002.htm

Finding aftermarket parts for any version of the Viper is a good bet.
It's a very popular plane to model.

Cheers

Yes, there are many parts out there for it, hey, how much do they want for the F-16C cockpit?? I was thinking of getting one, but the Hase looks good, so only if the price is right.

Cockpit goes for about $20 US.

Also, after I read about the seam down the middle of the
Hasegawa F-16 canopy, I ordered a vacuform canopy
from Falcon Models (actually, it comes with cockpits for
8 or 9 other jets for about $12 US + ship).  Nothing has
arrived in the mail yet, but I was thinking it might be cool
to cut the "glass" out of the Hasegawa canopy frame, and
then glue the vacuform "glass" into place.  I guess I'll see
when I get my hands on the parts.

Lastly, i ordered the HAFB decals from two-bobs for ~$9

Oh ya, I just noticed that on my canopy, I'll try sanding it and futureing it when the time comes, if it does not work I guess I'll have to go AM.
