I would like to sign on for the build.

I have a Hasegawa 1/48 F-16C and will do the aggressor camo. I may get seveal PE sets (i'm thinking engine and cockpit) or i may not get time to wait for it to come in.

Lone, you could contact Tamiya for a replacement part.
Revell has replaced parts for me for just a couple of bills.
So who knows?

zZz guy, sounds good to me!

Good work posted above.  There are quite a few 1:48 Hasegawa's
in this build.  I took a moment to examine mine, and it looks like a
whole lot of parts!  I hope that I can finish it by Feb, LOL.

As for the 1:72 hasegawa, i called it quits on that rear deck.   Now
I am focusing on other areas.  The build up is multi-colored, but quite
smooth and true, as best as I can tell.  I'm eager to apply primer.
That's always the true test of a surface.

Get one! It makes the build more challanging, not just glue, glue, paint.

Mr. Chex,

Some quick web research show that they are primarily a training squadron
for the Air National Guard.   Do they train on the advanced weapons systems?
The squadron office might tell you these details if you call.

http://www.f-16.net/units_airforce156.html
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/usaf/195fs.htm
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/usaf/162fw.htm

For some specific serial number information, try searching for "195" here:
http://www.f-16.net/f-16_aircraft_database.html

Lastly, here is the ANG photo section of F-16.net.  It is sure to have some
photos of the fighter wing & squadron you are researching.  Good Luck

PICTURES!

I was going to buy the cutting edge tail, but I was going to use a FOD cover, so I'd be wasting the money, so I just extened mine and put the cover on...

Still tons of work to be done, any and all comments welcome!

looking great anthony i wish i would have bought a better kit . i am just going OOB. quick question this is my first attempt at an aircraft. after the paint job do you highlight or wash all the panel lines or just like the lines for the flaps? thanks guys

With my build I am going to post shade, and then seal everything with future. After, I and going to apply a black wash to all the pannel lines. (I think if you don't, it will look uneven). Then seal it again with a flat coat.

Btw, this is only my second aircraft...

eexcellent for your second one anthony. i was thinking of getting a .005 artists pen and drawing in the panel lines . havent been successful with washes. do y ou do the wash after the future or before?

After the future, the future is applied before so that the wash does not ruin the paint.

I was also thinking about a artist pen, then use a sticky to guide it, less chance of screw up too...

This is one of the best "how-to" modelling websites I've ever found.
This page describes how to do a chalk-wash:
http://www.world-war-2-airplane-model.com/washes.html

I followed this tutorial on my last model to perform my first chalk wash.
It is very easy and inexpensive, and best of all, it is completely
removable if it doesn't work out.

I envision myself using this technique for years to come.  I also used it
to create oil stains, fuel streaks, etc.  See the fuel leak on the right wing:

i need to get started ASAP to get caught up with you guy,,,,,one question though,i plan on showing some panels removed and the instructons call for gloss white on the air frame,is this correct or should it be the yellow type zinc chromate?

Great lone!

As for colour, it depends on what panels, I know that the gun bay is white, some panels beside this are yellow, try getting a colout cutaway. I know one was posted on f-16.net, if you can't find it, let me know and I'll take a look...

I finished my bird over the weekend.  I was trying to take pics of my plane over the weekend, but my photos came out blurry.  I do not know why.  Can any one give my advice on how to shoot a model.  My camera is 3.1 megapixel.  Thanks.
