Yo bro, add me in i am interested but I will start on next monday of my VF-1A Super Valkyrie. I wanted to use light grey instead of white for the base color scheme and I hope I will not screw up this kit Big Smile

No problem - got you added in.

IIRC, the recommended base colour is acttually a very pale grey. I think I need to get a couple of pots of Gunze Mr Color 311 for a future project  too.

Put me down for the following kits:

1.) Wave 1/72 Destroid Tomahawk(release end of august)

2.) Bandai 1/144 Nousjadeul Ger

3.) Bandai 1/100 Missile Phalanx

4.) Yamato 1/60 Fan Racer (Pearl Gray Color) (if I can get but should be able).

Actually was considering doing the Hasegawa  Egg-plane VF1-A/J Valkyrie but my son snagged it out of the stash already.

Doing multiple kits as most are quiet quick builds.

I'm in. I've got a Hasegawa 1/72 YF-19 ordered, should be here by the start date.

Nothing else to add, just wanted to make sure I was subscribed to this thread.

Also, a smiley I've never used, but always wanted to: Eats

Most probably I won't start until mid/late November, but count me in.

I'll build a 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1S. I'll try to do Ray Focke's ride Cool

Nice start Harshman,

The drybrushing on the seat seems a little excessive to me, but then that's my own taste. Smile

Well, I just could not take it and see that these things are another form of Transforming Mechs, I just gotta throw my hat into the ring to, if that's OK.  Here is what I have chose/ordered.  Hope it is OK, I do not see where anyone is doing this one.  Let me know if it is suitable?  I hope so, it was not cheap!  But boy does it look slick.Surprise

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the 1/100 Gerwalk kits, but there's a minor problem when built straight OOB. The wings don't extend fully as they do in the fighter version. This is because the wing-sweep "teeth" clash with the insert plate for the backpack thrusters when you extend the wings. If you glue the insert in firmly and then trim away the projecting corners. the full sweep will be restored. (Of course you can only do that before gluing the fuse halves together.)

OH BOY, OH BOY, OH BOY as Herman Munster use to say.  I am glad you brought this GB together Phil H.  I never really knew much about Macross, but boy does it look cool.  And there is a capable group of builders here as well, this should be an outstanding GB.  Thanks for having the GM.

Ordered this evening from across the great pond, will take a couple of weeks to get.  I will post as soon as I get, the contents of this beast.  If I understood it right, it is actually 2 kits, the base kit and the add on's.  At least thats how it looked to me.  I also order a set of PE f/the Bandia VF25 to add some details.

Happy Birthday Having my cake and eating it too.  I always wanted to use this smiley as well Cosmic J.

Maybe is due to the camera flash that the dry brushing seems excessive.

By the way, some of my progress... and is very slow according to my standard. Slow as my job hectic schedule for today.

I hope I can finished assemble 85% of it by tml.....

Is that instrument panel stock in the kit, or did you modify it? It's very eye catching.

If I understood it right, it is actually 2 kits, the base kit and the add on's.  At least thats how it looked to me.  I also order a set of PE f/the Bandia VF25 to add some details.

The 2-kit thing is exactly right.  They even offered the "Super" armored components as a separate kit, which I can only really see as coming in handy for anyone wanting to build the Super Recon VF-25, since only the basic one with Ghosts has been released to date.

Now, as for my contributions to this GB.

First off, the 1:200 HWR-00 Mk II Monster, maybe adding a couple 1:200 destroids for comparison.

Next, the 1:100 Glaug officer's battlepod.

VF-25 Luca custom, one of the included drones done up standard, one as a combat variant from Macross Galaxy, and the 3rd modified as best I can to resemble the Ghost Fighter from Macross Plus.

Finally, I figured I'd add to the challenge to my skills with converting the 1:144 Queadlunn-Rau to Klan-Klan's Queadlunn-Rea from Macross Frontier.  I'm not ambitious enough to try the full scratchbuild or intense modifications that would be needed to get all the proportions matching the anime, so this will just be an attempt to add and remove details for a "decent" adaptation.

Combined with the "finish up what I started years ago" priority builds already in the works, I think that should keep me busy for a year.

Thanks Kugai, It'll be great to see the Monster built up. The prices people ask for this kit are pretty outrageous considering it cost no more than about $10.00 in 1985. Huh?

I've just gone over the list and we have an amazing array of models lined up, and that's just for starters. Big Smile

Its from stock set.. It has option of using decal for instrument panel or paint it yrself... Since its already engrave with detail. I think it will be better that i paint it myself.

Might try to get this done w/in the time frame as well.  Cosmic J's build inspired me to purchase this one after seeing his most excellent build.  You can add to my list if I have the time to build it.  This one was started when I purchased, but everything is there. Cool

I found it a bit odd that  Hasegawa went to the trouble of putting moulded detail on the IP and give you a decal option, but did neither for the side consoles which are completely blank (no detail and no decals).

If you look at the side consoles under a magnifier, it looks as if they started to do some work there, but then scratched it out - there seems to be  slightly irregular raised areas on the side console areas of the cockpit tub. Anyone else notice this?  Interesting to note that the nearly 30-year old 1/72 Imai offerings had (rudimentary) side console details.

Yea, when I saw it, even though some parts were painted, not much mind ya, I just could not pass it up.  I found the 1/100 pretty easy, but I wanted this one w/the Vampire decal.  Purchased from a gentlemen in Japan that sells classic kits.  And you are right, it killed me to pay what he wanted for it!!!!!!!!!Zip it!

I paased up one of those and a 1/72 VF-1D Gerwalk (the only 1/72 scale Imai Gerwalk with a correctly  shaped nose) way back about 1986 and never saw either again - they were only about $10.00 each at the time. Crying
