Sounds good. I have a few in  my stash that need to get built! I just started on the P-47 GB, Doogsatx put out. Will be good to get in on this once I get a few P-47's built.

Put me down for a 1/32 Hasegawa BF109G-14 'JG5'?

Most likely I'll be in.

Probably with a Airfix 1:72 G-6. Painted as a 'what if'. What if he red baron made it too WWII. So it's going to be painted red.

I'm liking this look but it will be modified to my liking. I will be doing a fictional but based on real markings.

Oh yes.

Mark me down as a definite with a 1/48 Airfix 109E-3. I already know the markings I'm going to be doing, but don't want to share them just yet.

Might try for the Zvezda 109F-2 or one of my Cyber-Hobby 109E-4s if I can get around and find markings I like.

Well looks like this should be a good one. On a side note for future reference, send me a message once you complete your build so I can post the finished picture in the first post. I made a quick tag for the group build but if you make one let me know so I can add it to the list. Was thinking of tweaking the normal routine here by you keep the normal tag while building and completion of the group build but instead of removing the tag if you dont complete the build in time you would just replace the tag with one I can make of a crashed 109.

Let me know what you think. Until then, lets see those WIP photos on 1/09!

Ok I'll bite. Don't have a definite, but most likely a 48 F2 trop. I have a few more decals sheets to get through... How do we insert the tag?

Count me in 1/48 Airfix Emil in BoB markings to be determined. Never built one of these. I'll have color questions.

The Zvezda kit does look phenomenal. If it goes together anything like their La-5 it'll be a total treat. BUT...I'm having a rough time finding markings I 1) like and 2) think I can reproduce.

That and the markings for the E-3 are only for the E-3. It was one of those "awesome markings, now buy kit" situations.

Just added the alternate tag for those who dont completed their models before the end of the group build. Looks like there will be many nice 109s!

I'm already committed to a few GB's, but the long run time of this GB has me saying "why the heck not", so count me in with a Tamiya 1/48 Bf109E-3.

ps - might be a good idea to post a roster of the entrants with their respective entries in your opening post.

Was there ever any doubt? Stick out tongue

Truthfully, I have several other 1/48 Bf109s, ie; a 1977 Revell Bf 109G, an Academy "Spanish 109", the Ha1112 Buchon, and my  "Christmas Fighters"...- a set of three Hobbycraft Bf 109s, one each B, C, and D...  I scored them in a trip through my LHS's basement after talking with the owner about some discontinued kits that were getting hard to find even on Ebay, back a few days before Christmas...

He said they'd sat on the shelf since they were released back in 1995 or so, after the guy that ordered them never showed up again, until he purged the aircraft and armor selections (making it a two-aisle military kit store) in favor of trains and RC stuff in '07...   I got 'em for what he'd marked them in 1995, 12.95 each!!

I'd first built those same kits back when they first came out,  but was never happy with the way they looked (I did the B up as a Kondor Legion bird, the C as a transition-type Romanian aircraft, and the D as a Swiss fighter... Nothing wrong with the models themselves, I just hated the way the paint turned out, with the exception of the KL '109, which I painted with rattle-can Testor's MM Camouflage Grey...

Now that I can do them over, they'll be given a more interesting camouflage scheme, although there's not a lot to do with the Kondor Legion....

Here's what I have in mind this time around..

I still plan on doing a KL scheme (#7) on the Bertha, but the Clara will get the one depicted in profile # 3 with the (N)JG 77 markings on the standard Luftwaffe Day-fighter scheme, and the Dora will get the treatment shown with #4 and the 1940 Jagdfliegerschule I at Wernuchen codes. I've slao kicked around adding a three-bladed prop to the Dora, as seen in this propaganda photo

But before any of that, the Monogram Emil (E-4, IIRC) will be done first...  Hopefully, Crossovers will be allowed? I'd like to tie it in with the Monogram Mafia Round II GB...
