An update on Mrs. Toshi’s condition 8/25/18 (A diary of a very extreme mental test)
To my fellow forum members,
I’ve been absent for a couple of weeks. Please except my apologie. Mrs. Toshi and I went to get her PET/MRI Scan. It took this long for the Toshi’s as when we arrived to the first appointment, they scheduled just a regular MRI Scan. So we drove 40 miles to get to Cleveland to only find out that we had to come back home.
The second time when we went, they did schedule a PET/MRI. One small problem, nobody had it approved by her Medicaid insurance. lol! And of course, here we go AGAIN, turn around to drive home. WOW!!! How many times can you F*$# up? All the while, Mrs. Toshi’s condition worsens, fatigue, extreme sleepyness, short term memory issues, and the inability to walk at times as she’s a fall hazard.
The third time, we went to actually get the services Mrs. Toshi needed to be completed. It took a very long, long, time. I sat in the waiting room watching reruns of “Friends”! lol! That was last week Thursday it took 7 hours!!! On this Wednesday, we went to get the results.
Her return of the tumor mass, is gone. Steroids shrunk the tumor. You see, the tumor started to grow again because it was proton therapy induced. And she is done taking anymore proton therapy session anymore. YAY!!! Unfortunately she has extreme swelling in her brain. She will have to get another surgery (This is surgery number 3) it is a operation that will take 90 minutes and she’ll be in University Hospital main campus in Cleveland for 4-5 days. A shunt will be placed under her skin behind her ear and enter the skull behind the ear and from there it goes down to drain the fluids. Another entry way they also use is to drill a whole at the area of the excess fluid and add another shunt. A small pump will be added behind Mrs. Toshi’s ear under the skin. Now we have to watch out for infection and or that the shunt gets blocked. Oh Boy, here we go again!!! lol!
