I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
Felix C. And there was a cat Pinocho on HMSGB 7 as well. Which is why these questions will have more than one answer. You did not state BB in the beginning when the question was asked leaving all responses as valid.

To be fair, he did state that he would be gone for three weeks, but perhaps it would have been appropriate if he had tied up this loose end before he left.
No one waiting on me I hope.
I answered with a mere steamgunboat which had a mascot not the BB.
I will yield to the other respondent as I have provided a few questions in the last year.
Just take it, Felix; if no one has any obections. It would be nice to get this thing rolling again.
OK. There was a friendly fire incident in which RAF aircraft attacked, sank, and damaged a number of RN ships in WWII.
Kindly name the date or names of the vessels affected.
Sorry guys,
I could not get my internet connection to work where I was in Spain.
I left before I could answer Felix C , I only knew of Warspite's cat.
Once again sorry for the delay.
OK. In 1944, RAF Typhoons attacked a Flotilla off Cap D'Antifer off Le Harve France. RN Vessels HMS Britomart and HMS Hussar were sunk . HMS Salamander was damaged beyond repair and HMS Jason escaped.

Yes. that is it.
Would you mind terribly telling me where you found this information?
Thanks
No worries. I found it in wikepedia under Friendly Fire. I will be back shortly with a question.
Ok next question is as follows:-
KGMS Scharnhorst replaced her Ship's Bell after it became severely cracked. Her Bell was replaced with one from another Vessel who's Name was well known. What Ship had her Bell given to the Scharnhost?
I believe Scharnhorst received the ship's bell recovered from Graf Spee., but I don't have any firm evidence to prove it.
Rick
You are quite right Rick. Graf Spee's Bell was taken off her for safe passage back to Germany before her demise. It was placed onboard Scharnhorst after her bell became severley cracked through Enemy Action or the extreme Cold of her normal Operational Area. The info was sourced from a Book written of her account by one of her 36 Survivors......Fritz-Otto Busch.
OK, here's an easy "quickie"..... Which class of battleships was the largest - in terms of numbers built?
The only Class that I can come up with was the British "Royal Sovereign Class". This Class had 5 Sisterships instead of the usual 4.
what time period & what navy?
9 ships MAJESTIC CLASS http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/majestic.htm
5 ships KING GEORGE V CLASS http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/king_george_v_class.htm
Neither the navy nor the time period were specified, but with nine ships the Royal Navy's Majestic Class of pre-dreadnoughts (1894-1896) is the clear winner - as are you, ddp59, and the next question is yours.
Said it was easy!
what post dreadnaught not battlecruiser is named after a british commonwealth nation?
The HMS Canada which was built in 1913 and sold to Chile in 1920 (Admirante Lattore). It was similar to the Iron-Duke class.

Sorry, I meant, what's the procedure now?
We usually have somebody, you, for instance, provide a quick and easy question, like a jump ball. The one to answer it first asks the next, more serious question. Why don't you ask it, stenscience?
Work has me twisted around - can't think of a question, Stenscience, take it.
For crying out loud! Here's a toss up: What yacht won the race that the America's Cup was named after?
First one who gets it, please ask another question promptly.
America
