Can't argue with that logic Harvs,I bought the Smer Airco DH2 and it had the wing roundels molded on for some reason, but then what can you expect from a $5 kit.......

Hi guys,

I really should check out this thread more often, anyway I'm here to ask you if anyone knows where in australia I can pick up a cockpit set for the Academy 1:48 SU27UB Flanker, don't know if any of you guys have built this one before but if you have you'll know that the pit is pretty inaccurate and very sparse on details.

Jules, congrats on your 500th post Party [party]Party [party]Party [party]

Well apart from almost suffering from a nervous breakdown while I was trying to decal my Aussie GB Spitfire, last night was a good night.

My usual question when I get home of "Any mail today Hon?" was greeted with "No nothing important. Wait on, oh yeah your magazine thing arrived"

NOTHING IMPORTANT [:0][:0] she says, the November issue of FSM arrived, there is nothing more important Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D].

The decals are the only real thing that is stopping me from finishing my RAN A-4 Skyhawk. So many of them and I am not sure I can face them all. Yuck [yuck]

j.s. The use of the Italian tanks was about the only way the Aussies could increase their armour strength in the Tobruk area. Have been think about modeling one of these tanks, if a can find a model of the right Italian tank. Who knows might be a subject for next years Aussie Group Build ( I take it that there will an interest in having one next year).

I darn well hope so, because I've already got my build picked out. I am going to do Classic Airframes Gloster Meteor F.8 in the markings of George Hale's Korean War MiG killer from 77 Squadron RAAF "Halestorm".

j.s I think that the white roo may have to be hand painted or done using a home made stencil, this, and trying to locate a kit could add to the challenge of this subject.

Maybee at some time in the future firestorm or mousehouse might look at producing one.

You might be able to get a Qantas roo decal of the right size & spray it white before applying. Has anyone tried the blank decal designed to go in an inkjet printer?

I love how filthy those Italian tanks are. I guess the diggers had to resort to using them as Churchill was trying to kill us off. Apparently in Korea every Oz grunt had his very own jeep c/- septics leaving them whenever bogged or broken down.

I'd go with a satin finish mike.
Gives a slightly used, but not factory fresh look.
Nice pby btw.Smile [:)]

Well the true details Sabre pit arrived today and i'm impressed with the detail, well worth the $20:00 but it is gonna be hard to paint and to fit......
I'll post up a pic for ya soon Tweets........

South i'm thinking a home made mask for the roo's on the Italian tank, there appears to be about 7 or 8 of them on one vehicle, anyway i'll spent the next couple of months looking into it...........

Looking good mate!!

I remember you playing with the plastic in the box no more than a month ago!

What paints did you use. BTW, I would go for Satin as well to give a nice "in scale" sheen.

cheers
