Thumbs Up [tup] Jules I like your suggestion for the 2005 GB badge, maybe add 2005 or 05 to it, or even 2 to indicate it is the second GB of what I hope maybe a regular occurrence in the future.

Also like you I am thinking about what I am going to do for next GB, (won't be an aircraft, never seem to have any luck with them).

As for the timing of next years GB maybe we start at an earlier date also I am interested in feedback on GB and its rules and if they need to be amended in any way.

Luck that I didn't have the prop and the landing gear on , it would have been messy if they had broken..

Hi all,

I have decided on my next two projects. Once I have finished the 1/32 Fw190D-9 and 1/48 Ta152 i'm working on at the moment I'm going back to my Australian acft. I'm going to attack a Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito and convert it to a PR16 using the CMK PR16 conversion set as well as the CMK exterior set. I'm also going to attack the Roden 1/48 Biplanes - either the SE5a or the Brisfit. I think the Brisfit is the major contender as it has Australian markings as part of the kit.

The mosquito will be my first real conversion as I've only done little bits of scratch building and conversion work before. Lots of photos are going to be taken whilst in progress and hopefully it will be on the Aussiemodeller website in the not too distant future.

Was just wondering if anybody knew if thwe RAAF has or still operates any F-16A Falcon? If any aftermarket decals are avalable and if any mods need to be done to this kit?

Trev,

The RAAF trialed the F-16 alongside the F-18 and I think the Mirage 2000 as a replacement for the then serving Mirages.
I don't know if any of the trial aircraft were ever put into RAAF markings or not.

Also, the Tamiya 1/48 F-16 is a kit from about 100 years ago and is based on the F-16 prototype airframe. You would be better off looking at Hasegawa or some other manufacturer.

As a side note, my wife would have my bCensored [censored]s on a plate if I ever spent $226 on a kit. A least I could sort of justify my new airbrush, sort of.

Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Jules, yes I do intend unearything the Corsair soon. Do you have the colour plan from the instruction sheet for that one? Hopefully I can combine that with the two photo's of that bird I have to come up with something convincing!

In the queue: 1/48 Beech Staggerwing (RAAF), P38 (RAAF), Vultee Vengeance (RAAF), Spitfire Vb (Malta), Spitfire VIII x2 (RAAF), P39 x2 (RAAF), Martin Baltimore (Malta?), Martin Maryland (Malta), Typhoon NF1b, Hellcat x2 (FAA)

Trev,

As darren has said the RAAF had the F-16 along with Mirage 2000 and F-18 on the list to replace the Mirage, although there were a few promotion posters showing these aircraft with RAAF markings no F-16s were given RAAF markings.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the Aussie forum Tom.

I don't know off the unit you a talking about so I can't comment directly, but before you spend your hard earned on any compressor, make sure it has or can do the following:
- Air pressure is adjustable between 10-30psi
- Compressor has a pressure gauge
- You can attach a moisture trap
- You can attach you airbrush
As a by the by I use the little Sparmax AC-100 and have never had a problem with it.

south Aussie thanks for the reply.Wink [;)] tominator, I think that could be the same if not similar to the compressor that i am using. I haven't had any real problems with it. I did buy another regulator for it with water trap. Also the one i have had some crappy connection on it. So i just took it off and bgot some of the propper ones with the push button. To connect my regulator to the compressor i had to buy about 4 different connectors so i could connect my airbrush. Hope this helps.

thnks ppls....
darren, i think it can do all that, im just not sure what psi it can put out, but i think it would be over 30
trev, i think it did have some weird connection on it, it kinda looked like something similar to the water hoses on washing machines... and how loud is it? like a vacuum cleaner? could u give me a comparison to something if u could plz

thanks again....

No worries Tom.

Like I said just make sure that the compressor is adjustable down to 10psi for doing delicate work. It also should be able to operate happily at about 15-18psi as this the pressure most people seem to favour when spraying your models. If it works at 30+psi you will end up blowing your model right of the table (voice of personal experience talking Tongue [:P]).

tominator, It is probably about as loud as a noisy vaccum cleaner? The one i use is rated upto about 150/180psi. I don't think you will need it that high.Wink [;)] Hop this helps.Big Smile [:D]
