PFJN

AVRO

I picked up the AVRO kit just because I thought it was an interesting aircraft that I had never heard of before, but the other three planes I initially bought with the intention of trying to use them as a basis for a kitbashed plane for the "Steampunk, Diesel Punk, & Other" group build.  However, once I got each kit I kind of realized that they are nice models in their own right and am debating finishing them maybe OOB instead.

I have the 707A and it’s a nice kit too.  If you do build your 707C, it would make a nice companion to the new Airfix Vulcan coming out at the end of the year.

Good grief, everyone is piling on the kit purchases!  Ha-ha, I’m falling behind!

Willuride,

Nice score!  The markings in the F-16 are incorrect (primarily the serial number).  Caracal Decals makes the correct decals for the prototype (not this kit) and the flight demonstrator which can be modeled with the Revell kit.

Pat,

The Avro kit is intriguing.  I hope it's built soon.

Thanks lewbud, Not sure I will put it together though.  It's 1/72.  I didn't check the scale before I bought it.  If I do it I will look for the correct decals.

Oh those are cool!

Pat: The Grace's odd 'cranked' wing would make an interesting feature on a kit-bashed aircraft. But it's a really nice kit to just build on it's own.

I picked up a few more sets of decals. I've pulled out the rest of my hair trying to use Hasegawa decals on current Zero build. I'm hoping these work out much better- I've never tried PrintScale.

And I didn't like the decals that came with my Tamiya P-38 so I picked up another set. Plus another set for whenever I get around to building the late model Hasegawa kit.

Nice pickups Gamera and BK!

Decided I didn’t have enough figures and needed another three boxes. Wanting to improve my figure painting and like to have a variety of different ones to work on.
The ICM figures are for a diorama idea I have in the future. The Dragon British infantry I picked up just because they are rather hard to find. The Soviet Engineers/Sappers I picked up after reading about a sappers experience during WWII on the Eastern Front.

Something I was very excited to finally get was the Rye Field Challenger II TES.

It went out of stock very quickly once released and any that I could find were more then I was willing to pay. SprueBrothers finally got a shipment and I quickly ordered one. Think I will order the PE set made by Rye Field as well since the PE slate armor looks superior to the plastic ones in the kit.

Be interesting to see how that Chally builds up, especially as they are now brining one out without the extra armour. Almost wishing i had not got the Trump kit now.

Oh those are cool figures Greysnake and I love that Chally. I still haven't tried any of Rye Field Models kits but I've heard a lot of good stuff about them.

Outstanding effort everyone.

Congrats on your new Sotar Steve. I do not miss out on the Badger Birthday specials. That's how I got my Sotar a couple of years ago. I still love my old 105 as my go to airbrush.

Impressive order BK. Well done.

I got the new Border Models kit of the Pzkfw IV G.  All new molds.  A somewhat new way of doing things.  I have not built it yet, but others seem happy with it.  It certainly has bigger instructions  and color guides with it.  It has length and link track with it.  The good old Mark 4 is like the Mustang, Me-109, and Spitfire. Every model company has to do their interpretation of it.  The Monogram Pzkpw IV 4 in 1969 or so got me really into tank models.  I was somewhat surprised to see a new kit of it.  I thought that DML had done such a good job with theirs that the market would be over.  Of course the the DML kits are getting hard to find.

I noticed those Border Models kits. I believe they are a new company but not sure if they are linked to anyone else. be interesting to see what thats like.

I think we all thought Dragon was the best we would get, but new companies are surpassing them and Dragon are just bringing out re-issues of old kits and are getting very over priced.

Bish, Chally looks like it will be a pretty nice build if on the over engineered side somewhat. The most time consuming part of the build will be the workable tracks.

Gamra, this is my first Rye Field and it looks pretty good. I know a few of the earlier models can be somewhat fragile. The Chally looks like it will hold up pretty well unless the PE slate armor is installed in place of the kit supplied plastic.

Joe, nice pickups on the Buccaneer and Flogger.

Regarding Border Models I’m not aware of any company they are affiliated with. I haven’t built any models by them yet. Once the Crusader MK. III and T-34E with spaced armor comes out I’ll grab those.

Another addition to the stash arrived Saturday a Tamiya IS-2. I have one on the shelf already built that was my first model completed after getting back into the hobby and it leaves a lot to be desired, this new one will be a replacement for the built one.

A box showed up late this afternoon:

The Exoframe is for a friend (yeah I traffic model kits like a drug dealer), while the Wurzburg radar is mine.  Now I need to go look for a figure set to man it.  And the giant "murder hornet" aka suzume bachi (sparrow bee) in Japanese is my latest pet.
