Four more additions to the stash. 3 are a trip down memory lane.
The three old Monogram kits are among the first that I recall saving allowance for to get from one of the local shops that sold kits in the mid to late 70s. The B-25 was still in the original shrink wrap and included the Shep Paine diorama pamphlet. But when I picked up the box that the eBay-er shipped that Mitchell in, I heard something rattling inside. When I looked to see what was in there, it was one of the bomb bay doors. Looking closer at the shrink wrap, it was actually slit open along the underside, and with the box being a bit beat up, that part just slipped right out. I'm lucky that I heard that rattling, otherwise I'd have had to find that part somehow.
The Monogram MiG and Sabre actually brings my count of those kits up to 2 each, as I had bought the combo box set of those kits a few years ago. I figure I'll build all 4 as a combo build.
I've never built a silver-plated aircraft. I'm thinking that plating is like the chrome plating they will do for auto models. I will say this - that MiG is going to be real shiny.
