Tony and John, you guys picked up some great tread head scores!

Many years ago, I picked up a 1/48 Kinetic E-2 from a guy at IPMS who was selling one off. I got a great deal on the kit, but I was never satisfied with the kit markings options. Recently I found out about this decal company, HADModels that made decal sheets for the aircraft in the movie The Final Countdown, including the E-2 seen in the film. So I found a set online from one of my favorite eBay stores and now I have the problem of the kit decal choice solved.

Robert: Hey wow, now that's an awesome haul! Congrads on the Zeros and good luck with the move!

Tojo: Wow oh WOW! Love the BIG Tiger and the 1/35th kits are cool too!!!

I ended up buying a few items, I guess I should post them. I'm still in denial that I bought anything though......

Well it's official I'm out of control, these two came today one day after the Tiger.

The IV comes with PE schurzen,a flat car,and a rail bed.

The Stug has 4 interior figures,a complete interior, and stowage.

They both look great in box

Can't wait for you to build this one Tony!   Can we expect some 1/16 figures???

They included a commander, supposedly Wittman, not used to seeing that sized figure,a new challenge

"IT" arrived today,no time to fully investigate yet,but pretty impressive. One thing I did notice is lack of texture on the hull and turret, inda thought at this scale I would see some texture, not smooth, unless I'm wrong,I will explore more when I have time to delve in.

Started poking around the Draw site and got tempted by a couple of pretty cheap kits.

Rounding out my airliners bit by bit.  1/200 scale (which I'm really starting to prefer to 1/144) Hasegawa 777-300 and current livery decals

1/200 Hasegawa bagged kit 787-8 and Air Canada livery decals

Thanks,

John

Nice.  Tony did a Trumpeter Hetzer last year.  I'm kinda facinated by it.  Stole the chassis from the Poles mounted that gun and stuffed 4 guys in it!  I may just have to build one if I decide to dip my toe in the armor waters again.

Thanks,

John

My first kit purchase of 2023:

I have already reached for an aftermarket PE set, since the kit does not have the perforated muffler guard and tool box.  I will however be trying my best to limit the extras added to the kit.  Looking through the parts I did notice the coiled tow cables are molded in one piece, so I'll be sourcing new ones.  The kit has both belt type and link-and-length tracks to choose from, of which I'll be using the latter.

Perhaps for scratch building purposes...

Just delivered by UPS from Holland,  4 Shapeways 3D printed, TRAX or two pairs as is the case, in 1/24-1/25 scale in white stiff plastic. I can now try to find the vehicle to fit them to, be it a Jeep, Smart Car or Meyers Manx!

What a clot! These are upside down! The largest wheel in the pack is the one friom the driven axle!

My  mom owned a Dark Bronze 69 Dart when I was a kid, it was the first car I ever drove. Ive been thinking about this kit for so long. Can this kit be used to build a stock looking model? Would love to have a small version of this car.

Picked these up today.  I went to the LHS to get a bottle of Tamiya Ocean Grey. Then this happened...

The two MPC Spits for two reasons. One, the existing kit I have has a crap decal sheet, and even though these are the exact same boxing, at least one has a great decal sheet --the roundels are in perfect registration and the sheet looks brand new. Odd, they don't include the cartoon duck nose art that they show in the photos on the box side Hmm .  The second reason is that where were just $6.99 USD and are great kits.

The Tamiya Zeke is for my 10 year old's birthday. He just finished his Monogram P-51B and says he wants to build a   "Mitsubish" next -- he has been playing a WW2 dogfight game on his Wii lately and I think that was his inspiration Wink He also told me that he wants all his planes to be the same scale so he could compare them better -- pretty bright for a 10 year old eh?

The 109G is for me -- I just could not resist any longer...

Can't speak to the other kits but that Zero is one of the nicest kits I ever built. Even for Tamiya standards! Mine was an 'A" and his a 'C' but the kit is the same with just minor changes for the early or late versions.

He is very smart to want the same scale. I have done planes for decades and was suprised to see just how tiny the Zero was.

I've picked up a few over that last couple of months. Mostly specific kits I've been wanting to add to the stash.

First off, I've been building up my figures for future dios on armor.

The next one up is for  "Snowman, You got your ears on son?" Enough about that.

This is a kit I built about 35 or so years ago. It is my all time favorite car and model I have ever had. These look stunning with built up. Can't wait to do it again.

This last one is an additional kit for one I already have. This kit offers Hemi Dart option or a Dart GTS 440. I intend to build both. The hood and hemi will be off to another builder to help him build his.

Really nice score, Stik. I have been thinking about buying that Panzer III as it is really reasonably priced. Those are all pretty cool.

That is AWESOME!!! So great to hear stories like this. I tried to get my son into models, but after building one he had no interest. Maybe when I'm gone he will build from my stash. I can only hope.

Very cool Cbaltrin! For $6.99 is a great price, that's cheaper than you can pick up a replacement decal sheet!

Yeah those are awesome SP!

I've only built one Panzer III, the vintage Tamiya kit. The Takom stuff is really nice, great detail and fit!!! I may have to look into one of their Panzer IIIs.

The 88 is really cool too! The Germans sold a number of them to the Nationalist Chinese, there used to be a set of Chinese crew for an 88 made if you want something a little odd and different.

Tony, I really love the rail flatcar. I remember doing railhead ops stateside and in Germany, and this flat car looks just like the type that I remember using in Germany. I'd love to do something resembling that sort of scene if I can find more stuff.
And yeah, that 88... Wink I've got the figures... a proper North Africa base should not be too difficult.

Nice haul Stik,I'm taking a hard look at that Border Panzer IV kit that comes with a flat car.

That 88 will look good on a base with some figs.

A few new acquisitions over the past 48 hours...

first up, the railroad flatcar for the Jagdpanther that I bought last month turned up in another box of the late owner's collection... mostly built... the executors brought it in to IPMS last night for me

they also threw in the Panzer III M that was mostly built and just needs some little bits added then move on to painting... no charge to what I had paid for the three previous purchases

and then a guy brought in this Flak 18 that Ive been wanting since it was first released. I couldn't haggle him down from his asking price, but it was still a good chunk off retail, so I'm happy

and then the postman brought in these two online purchases for a couple projects that I have in planning...

good stuff ahead...
