It is a good one for that, but I won't run or partake in any more GBs. Add Quote to your Post

Well, I'm really sorry to hear that Stik. You did a great job running those Monogram Mafia GBs--they were always the funnest ones for me...

Yeah, they sure were fun to run and most all the participants were great folks. It does seem like there are far fewer of the Monogram Mafia folks left on here nowadays.

Greysnake, nice scores! I want to get one of those Comets!

Here are my last two purchases of the year probably.

I’ve been planning to get the Tamiya Comet since it was announced and bought it from SprueBrothers last week. It looks a lot better than the Comet Bronco came out with years ago.

The Takom Mk. I Female was from eBay. It was one of the few WWI tanks I was missing from my collection. The last two I need now are a Mk. V Male and Female.

I picked this up today for my Luke AFB collection…

Wow, that looks to be in pristine condition. Very nice.

Its a "new" re issue of the molds. Hobby Lobby carries this kit currently. The only Thunderbirds that Revell/Monogram had done in 1/48 previously was the F-16 and F-100.

Okay, those armored cars are super cool. We don't have enough WWI stuff available, but it's getting better.

Thanks Brandon! Jealous of those armour kits you've added too! Love the M10 and Easy Eight Sherman- the Tiger and vintage Tamiya kits are awesome too! Even the cool '69 Camero!

Greysnake: Wow, very nice! Love those grand old armoured cars with the crazy steampunk look!

Two new kits arrived last Thursday that I’ve been eager to have.

The Ehrhardt from CSM just got released last week. The model came with a free book on the armored car as a thank you from CSM for pre-ordering. Not pictured because they are just in bags are three Freikorps soldiers (Post WWI German Paramilitary). I was surprised how quick shipping was four days from Latvia to my door.

Over the last couple of months I've added a few to the stash. Buying only those that are "cheap" compared to the going price. I've started adding bits for my CVN-65 build so that one is getting pricey now. I also jumped on this 48th scale Tiger I as it has full interior and is done by UStar, I think I heard Takom had a hand in it, not sure. Should be fun.

I've been tempted by some of those ICM vehicles.  Pics if you can please.

Last of what I had on order came in from Hannants and the Czech republic.  I'll be converting this to a Marine KC-130J Harvest Hawk from VMGR-352 the Raiders out of Miramar (as part of my aircraft of miramar theme).  The resin from Brengun looks great and I was happy to see that the kit from the 'used' section of Hannants was all sealed in factory bags in the box and comes with a beautiful 47 walkaround booklet from Italeri.  On the shelf it goes  Stick out tongue

That's gonna be a beast of a kit. Nice score. I want one.

Bought this as a present for my birthday two months ago and never got around to posting it. Have about a dozen M4s but this is my first M3...

Am currently building the older model of the P-38 from Tamiya and loving it. So when I saw this at the local hobby shop picked it up as an early Christmas present for myself and to give the hobby shop a little help.

Oh my, I totally jelly of those. NICE!!!

Cool Tojo- what a beautiful scheme!

Pat: Romanian stuff is interesting, not something you see that often. And I agree- ski and float planes are just cool.

Real G

A big box dropped this morning at my office:

In addition to containing the last of the Christmas model-related gifts for my friends, I indulged a bit and got myself these two armored oddities.

Object 490B has got to be the most "un-Soviet" Soviet tank design.  In addition to being utterly non-evolutionary from previous Russian cold war designs, it emphasised crew safety/survivability, something unheard of on that side of the Iron Curtain.  Needless to say, it didn't see serial production, but what an interesting design.  Now I know where the Japanese anime "Techno Police 21C" got their inspiration for the tank in the show!

MBT-99A Temtzin, Aoshima 044358 (2009) (scalemates.com)

The VK 168.01 is yet another paper panzer that seems to be proliferating in model kit form, probably due to the online game "World of Tanks".  I think it was an earlier concept that preceded the Maus.  In any case, I liked the silhouette of this one.  I'm just glad I'm not the crewman assigned the task of track repair!

Those are really cool. Definately don't see these everyday. Nice score.

^^^ Monster tanks ^^^

Picked this up on ebay.  A 1/72 or 1/48 CH-53E is hard to find or way to expensive.  Happy to have landed this one for a so-so price.   Part of my Aircraft of Miramar project

Nice score. I've been looking for one of these in 48th with no luck. Even the 72nd kits are pricey. Oh well, no rush, I'm not exactly low on kits to build.

Real G

Gamera

Bought a couple large figures but haven't photographed them. I did pick up this figure of an elf from the anime 'Record of the Lodoss War' I'm painting as a Christmas present for a friend. Sorry, already started painting her- I need to move to have her done for Christmas...

The base- sorry about the clutter in the background...

Gamera,

I just got the Plamax 1/20 kit of Deedlit, who I think is the same character as your figure.

I normally don't do fantasy figures, but I liked this one.

Very cool Real G!!!

I saw your kit on Ebay but I one I picked up was about the same price and I liked the pose a lot better. It's the Nom-Nom miniatures version.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/313780300746?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D40e42ff7728f4050a1fcee11e7b384c8%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D224917716384%26itm%3D313780300746%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Aa3399912-7057-11ed-b0ee-cad4b1c0143a%7Cparentrq%3Ac66386521840a0acce8cfa06ffffd6dc%7Ciid%3A1

Mine is the 1/6th scale version- which they seem out of stock of.

I'm trying to rush though painting this one, probably still won't have her done for Christmas though.

After I get though her and the Sadako figure for the figure GB I'm going to try to paint something with the face showing. I've got one of in 1/6th of Quara from Tron: Legacy that I want to start next. I'm happy to answer any questions though to be honest you might be better off watching YouTube videos than the bizarre way I bumble though painting figures...

That Avenger is going to be huge.
