Real G

I haven't been active on the forums lately, but I wanted to share this:

https://flic.kr/p/ZPSRgU

Sorry it's just a link; I still don't know how to paste urls from the phone.  Me so stupid.

This was an impulse buy while going through Retrokit's site looking for legitimate stuff - honest!

Thats somthing different. And thanks for the info. I thought Retro had gone out of buissness as i was watching some of the AM Star Wars sets on Starship modeller, but then they vanished. Never thought to look for their own site and now i have and they have the ones i was looking for.

Thanks.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Just how are you supposed to "weather" a cooty  anyways?

RX7850

Been awhile since I last posted, but now that I am using a new photo hosting site (See Ya P.B!) I thought I would post up. Went to a model show in N.H Saturday and was fortunate enough to score a great deal with the vendor that I have done business with in the past. Due to personel reasons he was getting out of the model scene and as a result I bought all the braille scale he had. On our way out my son and I recieved a few chuckles from on lookers as we excused ourselves in order to avoid colliding into fellow patrons while nimbly balancing four huge boxes overflowing with kits. As an added bonus a halfdozen of the kits contained aftermarket details and several boxes had two kits in them. I also like all the latest procurements everyone has been able to parley keep them coming.

Holy mackerel! Nice score bud. Love the Braille. What manufacturer is the yellow boxes? I can't make it out without my glasses. Braile PE is a good way to work on a persons patience Smile

Thanks Griffin25,

The yellow boxed kits are from Dragon and, with a few exceptions are very good. Patience is a must with photo etch, so is a steady hand.

The Eagle is for the Interceptor GB, and the other two were in the clearance bin at HL last night when I went to get paint for the F-15. For under $15 each on the Minicraft's couldn't pass them up

The past week acquisitions. A few weeks ago I heard TankerBuilder mention Lindberg Coast Guard patrol boat. Saw it a local Ollies and bought 3 boats for $30. (Bundled some OlliesArmy coupons). My niece, the future architect, said I need to branch out from tanks and planes. The Corsiar I picked up at DrugMart, an Ohio chain, for $8. And finally the Grant I picked up at my LHS which is closing at the end of the month. Merry Christmas to me!

Bish,

That is a great looking kit...I sure hope you post that build.

I recently acquired these for a diorama I have in mind. Just waiting for Dragon Models to get back in stock their 1/35 Huey UH1-D so I can start building the dio.

That's good too hear.

I hope it's interesting, My plan is to a "Air Assualt" dio of the Army's 101st Screaming Eagles division. My dad was in the 101st, and had gone through and received his air assualt wings. So my plan is to do a helo in motion and the soldiers at ready on the skids to rapel. If you remember I was hunting down the Huey UH-1. I am on a backorder list to get one when Dragon gets back in stock. Like the photo below.

These are the Air Assualt wings

This is my plan, but with just 2 soldiers on each side standing ready with a deck observer.

Carlos was an immense help tp me about this dio. He provided a lot of information to me so I could be as realistic as possible.

Very cool purchase. I love those guys. Hope you can get him done soon. Just an observation, and maybe its me,  but is the frown he shows on the package more pronounced than the actual kit figure .

So my Birthday was on the 31st but we couldn't get to town for shopping untill today. We eventually wound up at Harbor Freight and my wife met me at the checkout stand with this. My birthday gift.

Well I couldnt pass up a chance to get more paint so I told her "I dont have any airbrush paint" ( I have ton's of paint ) that's how I also scored these.

Unfortunately for me her birthday and Christmas are both in the same week. And since she is "Gung Ho" on getting the new house finished it's probably going to set me back  a living room set...... And a refridgerator...... possably a set of track light's too.

Bish,

That's a good looking kit. Is it on the water???

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

LittleTimmy,

I'm curious how well that air compressor works. I have one of those airbrushs and it isn't bad. But don't care for suction feed though.

I have only used an airbrush twice in my life, 15 year's ago, and it was a borrowed one at that so this will be an "Experiment" for me. I will let you all know how it work's......

BTW. You can't "BLOW YOURSELF UP' with one of these ?  ....... Can you?.....

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the box art.

Ditching in the "Channel" could be very interesting.

That was my main concern. Dont care about the Harbor Freight airbrush... figured I would expirement with it and then go to a "better " one when I was ready.

I will eventually be looking for a gravity feed, internal mix, dual action airbrush.

( My wife will "HATE"me for going the "expensive" route... but it's her fault for buying me this ! ... Next year I will be lucky to get a bag - o - rocks....)

Seriously, congrats on the compressor and airbrush.  You can get a very decent airbrush that won't break the bank.  Watch the sales.

Ye, that one is, i had to look twice when i first saw it on Hannants. The box art is in the markings of an aircraft that ditched off the Dutch coast. I think it said its only one of 3 Typhoons where the pilot survived ditching. Not often you see that short of thing on a box art.

But no, i won't be doing a water dio lol

I used the airbrush for quite awhile.  I have upgraded to an Iwata NEO. But was surprised at the HF airbrush it's not bad
