Picked this beast up yesterday, the instructions taught it as being one of the finest kits ever produced. I built it WAY back when I was like 7 or 8 so I am excited to see how much better I can do this time.

Nice John. The Seaking is such a great looking chopper. I will enjoy seeing you build it.

That's awesome John!

I had an old Dinky Sea King as a kid- it came with a yellow plastic Apollo capsule you could hang off the chopper. I wonder what happened to the darn thing- haven't seen it in forever. I believe it was the same markings. Charlie Brown was Apollo 10 I think...

Got these for the SeaKing - it's cool, you can make one of 4 Apollo missions.  Same bird, just slightly different markings

Thanks,

John

Bish,

I'll try contacting Airfix and see what happens.

I once ordered an AFV Club kit from a China outfit, and when I discovered my kit was missing the metal barrel, all the vinyl dust covers, and the wire hardware pack, they just wrote back "We have no spare parts and the kit is OOS.  Try the manufacturer."  How do you say "That Sucks" in Chinese?

I looked over my Vulcan and thankfully it is fine.  I had read that a number of early customers had short shots and such.  One customer had two sets of identical wings instead of proper top/bottom halves.  If Airfix was Tamiya, some of those guys would have lost their heads.  Or pinkies.

Oh those are cool guys! Love that Valkyrie Real G! And good luck on getting replacement parts or repairing the Vampire.

I'm been very bad too. When picking up resin tank crew figures from AliExpress I saw this and had to have it. She's 1/7th scale- aka pretty big. Sorry, didn't want to pull the parts out of the bags but I'm impressed by the quality of the castings.

Neat sheet of decals, not sure how many I'll use.

Everything really well packed.

Real G

I am naughty.  Very, very naughty.

Though I already have a finished 1/72 Huma Triebflugel, I had to get this resin kit by AB&K after seeing a friend's sample.

After buying the disastrous 1/48 rendition by AFV Club, I was looking for a better early U-2.  I was surprised to see Hobby Boss release a 1/72 kit of the U-2A, and even more so that on first inspection it appears to be a much better representation.

I avoided the Modelcraft kit from the 1990s, and after a 30 year wait, Modelsvit's new F-82 is indeed truly spectacular.  I think only the latest from Eduard approach the fine surface detailing seen on this kit.  Bravo.

I have a thing for the Vampire, so I eagerly awaited Airfix's new tool 1/48 kit.  BUT... Augh, Hornby's gotta get their QC sorted.

There were several small items that were broken on the sprue, but this twisted upper fuselage/wing is truly upsetting.  And it visciously refuses to unwarp, springing back even though my attempts at correction are leaving some perilous looking stress marks.

I am so butt-hurt, that I think I will build the Classic Airfames kit I have alongside the Airfix kit, instead of tossing it.

OK I should not end with whining and complaining, so:

A VF-1J Valkyrie covered in missile-packed armor blocks!  It's a truly crazy 1980-era anime design, but I love it.

I have that Triebflugel on my wish list, i had not realised it was resin. I've built the Huma kit as well but would like a more up to date one. Have you tried contacting Airfix about the Vampire, its a new kit so should still be in stock. Thats pretty bad.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Looks great Stick. I won that Osprey but not sure if I'm going to keep it or not. Just not a fan, but it might make a nice dio. Love the little R35

WOOHOO! The new Arma Hobby 1/72 P-51B/C arrived from Poland. Gorgeous kit upon opening and having a look.

I picked up their F4 Wildcat last week (just waiting on a couple of kits from Accurate Armour before i post up) it loks an amazing kit, detail is just stunning. I can see this company makeing a real mark on the hobby.

I agree Bish. I can see them becoming a real player. Arma has done an amazing job of including excellent detail into a low parts count. Apparently they have plans to start introducing a line of 1/48 scale kits. That is exciting!

keavdog: Lovely additions. That S.M. 79 is a choice score.

Stik: Well done on your bargain shopping. Way to make the best out of an excursion about town.

Aggie, nice score on the F-82! John, that's a neat batch of Trumpeter kits! All great subjects!

So for me, today I went out for a bit of hobby shopping after a dr’s appointment… if you’re out, might as well make it worth your while….

First I stopped at Hobby Lobby since this is one of the weeks with the 40% off all model kits, and I’ve been wanting this one since they started carrying it last year….

Then I was of to Andy’s Hobby HQ with my gift certificate from IPMS that my M151A1 won last November in the meeting contest. I picked up some paints, a few other goodies, and this little beauty…

All in all, a good day.

My latest, some Mission Models paints and the new Modelsvit F-82 Twin Mustang in 1/48. Looks like a very detailed kit in the box.

Ooo Joe, I was thinking about pulling the trigger on that but not sure of the timing with the time it takes to be shipped from  Poland and all. I'll be sure and get it after my move
