Ha!  I ordered the Red Barron for her yesterday.  I've been wanting a Tempest - curious to see how it goes together for you.

I had my eye on the Profi-pack edition of the Tempest, which is a British aircraft that I've never built, but gee, I guess those things have gone like hotcakes recently.  I could not find any of the usual online sources for that Profi-pack kit having it in stock, and eBay sellers were jacking the price up to well more than a single-engine WWII fighter should be.  Opted for this weekend edition (not really a fan of the PE for 48th scale fighters).  The kit looks great in the box.  No idea when I'll actually get to it.

Speaking of Snoopy ... I got the beagle and his arch-nemesis ... have not built either yet (other than many, many years ago when these were brand new and I was almost brand new).

Oh those are awesome John! Love the Snoopy Camel, I'm going to have to look for that. I didn't even know it'd been rereleashed until Big Jim posted the one he'd built.

Got this one for my wife - built it in an hour.  The prop has a motor and spins - so cool

So I bought a decal set 6 months or so ago for Manx Air - on the Isle of Man which is my ancesteral home.  Didn't realize finding the kit would be so difficult!  Found this BAe 146-200 on ebay - open box, partially started and jumped on it.  The Fury was really cheap on hobbylinc and I was buying paint anyway Cool

Thanks,

John

Thanks John, and the Toyota is awesome! I wish I could paint a car a tenth that well.

TJ: Some really nice additions there. You'll love that Spit, it's a gem of a kit.

WpWar11: Oh wow, nice stuff there too. I love that giant Phantastic Phantom!

Keavdog- I'm thinking of doing the Thunderbolt with gun doors open and a gun barrel set.  Nice work on the Toyota.  Engine detail is awesome.

Gamera - I love the split bumper.

wpwar - I recently got the same thunderbolt, and you reminded me that I have a devastator in the stash.  The Toyta GT One is an awesome kit.

Thanks,

John

Again cool stuff guys!!!

The only two kits I've bought this year- except figures, as I said they're accessories so they don't count... Wink

Not sure what the recent car kick of mine has been. A bunch of car guys joined our club and I guess I'm bowing down to the peer pressure. Or maybe I just want to try something different. Darned if I know...

I also finally came across a guy in France who makes the Matra Super 530 missile in 1/48... nobody makes them in AM, and unless you scavenge them from another kit, there are no options in 1/48 to get any... until now. These look to be 3-D printed and are not bad at all, especially the pair on the right. The left pair are a bit softly detailed at the tail fins.

Stick, have you seen this from SkunkModels? Since it says Version 1, maybe Version 2 is on the way?

No, I have that set of weapons. The MICA was developed as a replacement for the Super 530. They are similar in design, but the Super 530 is larger in diameter and length.

My latest off a FB page; kit is for an F-86 and a MiG but only has the two MiG's.

Seller was upfront about that and tbh, the Sabre isn't one of my favorite jets; probably has to do with their poor combat record in the original Godzilla movie. Wink

Not sure what I'll do with the second one, maybe a WIF.

The LHS, like all none essential shops in England, has been closed since new year. It re-opened on Mon so i popped in today for a few essentials and decided it was time i picked up a Tonka. Finally picked up the Revell kit after waiting for Airfix to do a new tool.

I'll probably turn this into a GR.4 and pick up another at some point for the GR.1.

Silver plastic?, I don't have that kit but I have several of those old Hase boxings. Love those little guys. As was stated, not much in the way of interior detal and rased lines mostly, but still a fun build.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Definately Eaglestons mount.  I was litteraly just looking for 1/48 decals last night after bumping into this pic of his plane at Hill AFB museum

Just got a copy of this little beauty. Think I had one back i the day. Not sure what happened to it. I saw a few built up at the LHS back in the 90's.  I know it cannot compete with the Tamiya version; however, it's a great kit on its own and what an easy build. Not sure why Hasegawa missed the belly station but it should be a nice and ez build and look great on the shelf.

it's still a nice kit. Interior is bare bones but exterior is nice

I think I built the same kit back in the '90s. Box was in English instead of Japanese but same artwork and same fighter on the cover (believe it's Major Glenn Eagleston's P-47). Great little kit, don't remember any issues in assembling it.

PatW
I'm fascinated by seeing more and more modified Hot Wheels diecasts. They seem tiny to me so how are they done?

Pat, here is one link for a website that is dedicated to that hobby. There is some pretty impressive work being done by those folks.

https://mycustomhotwheels.com/

Can we expect to see a Pat customized version of that 914 Big Smile

Gamera,

thanks for the congrats on the new tool. I must admit that I'm a tool junky, but I do try to use them all to justify my habit lol.

John,

here is a link to the documentary I mentioned if you are interested.

https://www.acrossthepacific.net/

I'll also post it in the Ready Room forum. The Pan Am Clippers have always fascinated me but the documentary helped me to understand what an amazing undertaking it really was.

Also those cockpit sets look truly amazing! Some very impressive technology available in our hobby these days!

Thanks to everyone posting their acquisitions, I really enjoy seeing the variety of interests and treasure finds!

Gil.
